Comparing Sorcery Only Runs Part 3: Dark Souls 2

I've decided to compare the experience of doing a sorcery only playthrough in each souls game. This means I need to do a sorcery only run in each souls game. That continues this week with Sorcery Only: Dark Souls 2.

When you realize that red Smelter Demon is optional. Beating gives access to a closer bonfire.
Also for ds3, are you going to use dark scorceries, or do those count as "hexes".
What is your beef with the Chariot

I knew smelter demon was optional but never actually considered not fighting him. Not sure what that says about me.
Dark sorceries are on the table for DS3.
My first playthrough was many years ago and my fight with the chariot did not go well.
