You definitely know the limits of your car! I run with DSC off on the track too but I never pushed it as hard as you! MDM doesn’t give me the power I need unless the steering wheel is completely straight.

Just go pro 7 black on my helmet with the wind filter thing enabled. I had another camera setup with an external exhaust mic but the cord must be broken because it recorded 0 audio.
You Are One Fast Driver
You are a great driver ! Hit all your apexes, very neat, putting to the tyres right to their limit. Too many times I see people fall in love with oversteer but you got it down pat... I'm guessing you've done this once or twice?
I’ve definitely had my share of track days but actually this was my 2nd ever track day in the M4. Third track day at Thunderhill West.
On track, I put everything in Sport+ (although I do prefer steering and suspension in Comfort on the street) Manual on the gearbox, at level 3. MDM mode on. For autocross, all the same, except traction fully off. Cool video!
Yeah I run the car 100% of the time ///M2 button Sport + everything except steering and traction full off. I think I’d be quicker with MDM on because I could lean on it a bit to get me through corners faster and out without spinning the tires.
@@BlakesGarage yeah, that's what I found, too, with MDM. But these cars are SO MUCH FUN!!!!

How do feel about it’s mileage ? Does it matter to you / what do you do about it?
You were flying around that track in your M4. It so different driving on the track compared to the street and you make it look easy. I would have flew off the track several times if I was pushing my M3 that hard with traction control turned off.
If you don't mind me asking, do you buy track day insurance?
I do buy track day insurance depending on the track. Usually around $500 a day.

Nice vid mate and great car control👍 you should try to give the car a few cool down laps as the temps go so high when you come straight in like that. Also, you should use the tyre pressure display to monitor your pressures as over 10-15 mins you can see an easy 10-15 psi increase depending on tyres, such a useful tool to save tyres esp with the temp displayed too. You’ll always get the best lap times when your pressures and temps are dialled in.
Finally, watch for fuel surge. The car will cut out initially but can go into limp mode and feel like something is seriously wrong then waste a good hour or 2 before returning to normal even if you turn on and off, unfortunately a lot of F series BMW’s suffer this. Sometimes you’re left with a warning on dash and will need plugging in to a diagnostic to remedy. I always run over 1/2 tank in mine.
What tyre were you running?
R888r 275/35R18 front 305/35R18 rear and bald. I don’t have TPMS sensors in these wheels but yeah that would be beneficial.

Coolings great never had an issue. The car will get a little bit heat soaked when it’s hot out during hot laps. When I put in a new heat exchanger upfront that seem to help a lot with power loss

Yes and no. I spun it then got it fixed by BMW so it’s still the stock style.

How were you able to have bmw do the work when you’re tuned? I just sent stage 1 but my car is CPO so I have some warranty left

Nope, steel brakes black calipers paint now from the heat lol 😂 changed the color from blue to black if you see a ///M car look like that you know they have the track badge of honor. Just race pads and fluid. G-loc R18 front R12 rear, Castro’s React SRF fluid and steel braided brake lines.
