The former Nightwish drummer Jukka had to stop playing with the band, due to horrible and chronic insomnia. He powered thru it for as long as he could, but when he finally stepped down, he selected his friend (and awesome drummer) Kai Hahto. Jukka still works with the band in a managerial position.
The new drummer Kai stepped in for their 2015 tour and was ought to be Jukka's substitute only as long as Jukka's recovery should last. Yet in 2019 Jukka announced his ultimate resignation.
Floor lives here in Sweden with her family and they often visit a store where my brother-in-law works. He can confirm that she and her husband are super nice every time they come in to shop.
Great point about Floor. While I am not naive enough to think that Floor is a 100% perfect person. Everything I've ever seen about her, seems to show her as such a kind, sweet, funny, hard working and honorable person. I agree that she would be a good role model for a young woman.

I concur. On stage she is a Valkyrie Goddess. Is perfect on stage no but mostly she is and fans (Nightwish Army) of Nightwish and Floor love her dearly. Offstage from what I seen she is a sensitive woman who needs time in the green when touring and loves to horseback ride in the Sweden area she lives in with her children and husband Hannes (drummer of Sabaton).
Jukka Nevalainen the drummer is still with Nightwish, he's a manager. But he stopped touring because of extreme insomnia. Marco left because he was fed up with the industry and burnout, he's still making music solo.

@@antoinebrg6299 He was critical of the recording companies and what he considered their desire for bands to be like an assembly line with their music, churning out material on a timed schedule. Artists like Tuomas operate on a different wavelength when it comes to creativity. Sometimes it comes in waves and sometimes it comes drip by drip. Personally I think that's what's wrong with music in the U.S. Too many cookie cutter bands and not enough bands inventive like Nightwish.
Floor took over vocal duties half way through this tour and I believe this was the last gig of the tour. Which makes her performance all the more remarkable. Apparently when she was asked to step in she had 48hrs to learn the set. At the time this was the biggest audience Floor had ever performed in front of, 80K plus. Important point: This was not the last gig of the tour. That show was later in the month, I believe in the last week of August in 2013. In point of fact, the documentary actually shows the band talking to the audience right before the last song, of the last show, of the tour -- and it is not the show at Wacken 2013.
@@StaceyRPGReacts Eventually you'll get to the documentary titled, "Learn The Set-list In 48 Hours". You'll get to know them behind the scenes of everything they do. They have a documentary of the behind scenes of making an album too. it's really interesting to watch how they go through the process of making an album. They get together with the London Philharmonic symphony, and showcase this. Tuomas, the keyboardist is the metal Mozart that composes most of the compositions. They all contribute in a symbiotic fashion to pull off all this great music.
I recommend checking out Floor’s reaction to Ghost Love Score, or one of her “day-in-the-life”videos on her RUclips channel. There are also several documentary-style videos about her. All the videos mentioned make her down-to-earth genuineness even more apparent.
Unfortunately Marko did leave the band. His comment at the time that it was for his mental health, and frustration with the business side of music. I really hope he will perform again with Nightwish at least an occasional reunion. His vocals with Floor's are just so good, and so missed.
I think he will, if time and place etc. comes together, I mean have done some work with Tarja not so long ago they did "Phantom of the Opera together. So I wouldn't rule it out.

If you want to hear a growly Floor song please check out the song: Yours is an empty hope. A song about those nasty trolls on social media. The best version is at Wembley Arena as lots of camera angles when Floor growls. Marko joins in the singing at the same time but reactors seem to confuse Marko with Floor during the growling hence why i prefer the Wembley version. Thank you

You haven't quite seen every style that Floor can sing, many surprises are yet to come. Every Nightwish song is pretty much a genre in itself. There's so much left to experience.
This one is more mainstream and accessible than a lot of their songs. That's probably what you were getting at. It's also why I think it's a great introduction to Nightwish for people unfamiliar with them.

Yes, this song is certainly one of their more rock- radio friendly songs. That's the great thing about Nightwish, is that their sound can vary much from song to song. Like a modern day Queen or Led Zepplin.
For someone who is “not a musically savvy person” you sure dissected and analysed the song with great insight. With Nightwish, they don’t really have a “style”. They have so many influences that each song is different. To prove that, I think you are ready for one of their heaviest songs. “Yours Is An Empty Hope” introduces growly Floor!
Okay, I'm officially on board for this journey of a lifetime - Subscribed! I found Nightwish about fifteen years ago, but had a heard time with the heavy opera of Tarja. When I found Floor, I fell deeply in love and they're my all-time favorite band. Tuomas is, without doubt, the greatest composer of my lifetime, and you will see what I mean as your travel further on this amazing trek. As an old drummer, I agree that Jukka is fantastic, but when you finally hear Kai ... you'll love him. He's Jukka's mentor and dear friend. When Jukka had to leave for health reasons, he recommended Kai. He did us all a favor! Jukka stuck around in Band Administration, but I heard he finally left. He's always family! Speaking of Floor as a perfect Idol for a daughter: She actually has a 5 year old daughter with the "Sabaton" drummer Hannes. That HAS to be the next musical super talent 🙂
I love how Jukka is getting credits he deserves 🥁 I admire him so much as a drummer. He had to step aside because of imsomnia and migraine. His style when drumming. Oh...I bought few bandanas years ago because of his style I ike so. His style playing those drums touches my soul. And of course Floor Jansen so great as always, I am not forgetting her. And Tuomas (keyboards) our metal Mozart, our national treasure (I am from Finland).

Floor's voice is a complete instrument, she can do anything vocally. You haven't heard her growl yet, but she can. She can also sing full-on opera. Floor is one of the sweetest people I have ever me, and so not a diva.
3:18 what happens is that remember that the band has gone through 3 vocalists, the first was "tarja", toumas (the pianist) is the one who owns the band and composes the songs, for which the first songs you heard They were composed for "Tarja" which was a very operatic voice, however this one is more "cryppy", because it was made for "Anette Olzon" which Anette is the one who has made my favorite albums from this band, here "floor" She was new to the band, and there were no songs for her yet. Storytime is from the concept album Imaginarium, and the songs were written for and first preformed by the band's 2nd singer, Anette Olson. Floor has little if any trouble with songs written for either Tarja or Anette.
They had two more shows after Wacken, then the tour would be over. The band had been on tour for a year and a half, changed singer mid tour and they all knew by then that Floor was the one. That's what all the smiles are about, the unity, they were a whole band again and the love from the fans, too. Also, this has definitely become the ultimate version of the song and Floor was giving it her best belting in this performance.
5:50 Technically, although Jukka no longer plays drums due to health issues, he is still in the band - he is now CEO of Nightwish company. The current drummer, whom you haven't seen yet, is called Kai Hahto and he is also an outstanding drummer, although his playing style and sound are a little different.

After 2 more concerts, the tour was over, and their next tour starting in 2015 was with new drummer Kai. I highly recommend that you start exploring this next era with the song "Shudder Before The Beautiful" (Live at Wembley Arena 2015). This song started every show of that tour (and also the album) and you can find it on their official channel.

They were super fortunate to be blessed with both Jukka and then Kai…two phenomenal drummers who melded so perfectly with this phenomenal band. Jukka in Beast Mode on the drum kit ..again👍in this one🤘🤘
The smile on your face says it all about Nightwish - 100% FUN ! ! ! There are at least 2 video documentaries on Floor. One is a reunion with her high school classmates, I think were part of her musical work in school. The second shows her life with her family on their farm. Both are worth the time to watch. During the pandemic and lockdown, she did a couple minute video each Friday where she opened up alot. Everything I've seen or heard of her off stage is, she's as solid a person as you could hope to be.
Fun fact about giving everyone a time to shine. If you ever watch the end credits of one of their live videos, you will notice that EVERYONE is listed in the credits, even the crew that works to set up the stage and transport their equipment. No one is forgotten. I have never seen another band do that.
@StacyRPG: Jukka Nevalainen is still with Nightwish as part of management. He merely stepped down from performing because of ongoing insomnia. Believe me, he did not want to step down, but felt he was going to hurt himself had he kept going. Despite this, I did read an interview Tuomas had with a French metal magazine where he mentioned that Jukka has played a few small shows, and really wants to get back on the kit and play again. His favorite song, by the way, is Last Ride of the Day. That being said, Jukka is much loved in the Nightwish Army, just as much as Floor or Tuomas is. #IMissThePirate

You see Stacy, Floor is with no doubt THE metal queen in recent time. Her capabilities are border less. From belting to smooth, from growls to soft and silky, from metal to songs with a profound meaning and from a range of almost four octaves, from sing songwriter to covers and sometimes better than the original and all of this. But this Floor is also a wonderful warm -hearted , approachable person, family mother with respect for her fans as wel as her co musicians. And although she is the queen of metal; jealousy, ego and diva behaviour is strange to her. A person you could run into in the street, have a chat and lets go for a drink. Advise: look on you tube for her interviews from the past and you will find out. Nice reaction by the way.

A few words about the Dutch Goddess Soprano Floor Jansen; she got into music in her early teens, learning Classical music, opera and rock. She sang with her own two bands for years until she left music, citing burnout. The Nightwiah founder, Dutch keyboardist Tuomas Holopainin, had worked with Floor so he called her and asked her to stand in for his current singer who was pregnant. After some thought, Floor accepted and has been Nightwish's lead singer since 2012.
The songs are balanced so well that it's almost clinical, in the best sense of the word. All musicians are top tier. You could listen to anyone play alone for an hour and blow you away. But they have no need for ego tripping during the performance. The solos aren't elongated to stroke the guitarists ego. The choirs and background strings are sprinkled there when needed. You never feel that there's too much of anything there, or one instrument overpowering the other. They are all equal. Also, look at the pyros. They are timed perfectly to the music. They have their own guys with them and they don't miss a beat.
Floor really lives every word she sings. Her pronounsation is so freaking clear, you can understand every word!! The composition of every song they play is crasy!!! Tuomas is really the Mozart of the 21st century!!!
@StaceyRPG....I remember how much I loved Nightwish when I noticed one of my favorite Reaction Video guys I follow played, " Ghost Love Score "....and I have been hooked since January of 2019! The more get into Nightwish, you are going to understand why Nightwish fans are so crazy about them. Just look at the people in attendance at this concert...82,000 people...and did you see the young ladies and guys singing along with the band....they know the lyrics to every song!!! If you want something a little harder...try " Song of Myself " And "7 Days To The Wolves"
Believe it or not, you haven’t heard all of Floor’s vocal capabilities. You have actually just scratched the surface. You have lots more awesomeness ahead of you! 👍🏻 And Floor really is a great role model. She is actually a role model of mine as she has overcome adversities that I myself struggle with. To see her being so successful and being just a master of her craft really motivates me. Because if she can do what she does then I can certainly one day be back at work after a long time struggling with my mental health. This band means so much to me and their music has gotten me through some really rough patches. They remind me that there is beauty in this world even though it can seem ugly and cruel.

You're spot on.They are breathtaking and a complete pleasure to watch them perform. Every concert the do, is epic and full of the same craft that they possess with intricate precision. It's all so good LIVE. I've never heard any other band perform so tight, and perfectly in-sync with one another. They all give where needed. It's as if they are one machine with many parts working together in unison. Truly remarkable. You need to check out Floor documentaries. She's her genuine self at home with her family and her horses. You are right that there is a different feel to this song. The first songs you've watched were either performed by or written for the first operatic singer Tarja Turunen whereas this was written for the second singer Anette Olzon who had a pop style and couldn't sing the middle operatic section. Of course Floor sings it all except her growls. LOL
I wasn't Shure about the sincerity of your reactions until this one. Your reaction is spot on. Nightwish is a once in a generation band that combines the best of rock and symphonic music. Their performance at Waken in 2013 set the stage for the best of what this music can offer.

You should listen to their song The Greatest show on earth after this, It's about the earth's birth etc and you can read about it. Even listen to Floor in Floor Jansen & Henk Poort - Phantom Of The Opera | Beste Zangers 2019, It's amazing. Then you could listen to the band Sabaton and their songs Christmas truce, you can hear Floor in the end of it, No bullets fly (animated) it have a really nice ending, Bismarck, The last stand etc. All Sabatons songs have a historic background that you can read about, and they have a historic channel where they're breaking down the songs. I really hope you're going to read about the storys before listening to the songs (Google or outher), it gives the words and videos a bigger content..... Fun fact is that Floor Jansen in Nightwish is married to the drummer in Sabaton.
they have so much different songs and styles of singing..a great and very long song divided into sections is also the poet and the pendulum on the wembley 2016 concert..I think it was played the last time as the composer found it to be perfect played out. also empty hope if you want to see her growl (as you liked pisces from jinjer already) and the bass player sing ;) also wonderful "shoemaker" with amazing opera sound at the end, requiem to a man named shoemaker (the only real person burried on the moon). in addition her showing up in best zangers singing songs of other artists, her entry as the "metal lady" with "vilja" song was just so fun to listen and watch, you see her joy so much performing it for her idol sitting in the audience
More Nightwish! Follow Gabriels list like I said in the previous video :-) I can't wait for you to discover the other aspects of Nightwish. It will be so fun to watch you realise who writes the music, who is the 6th member of the band, and the other versatile styles of music they've made, and which instruments they use.
A lot of Nightwish's music has changed in production based on the era the songs are written. The other tracks you heard like Ghost Love Score and Ever Dream, those were composed for how Tarja sung, so by principle they're more accompanied by operatic similarities or literally as so and that, also by principle, is going to be more symphonic, so you'll see a very noticeable change in music composition and you'll start to familiarize which songs would've been composed for Tarja and which ones were not, even just by hearing Floor sing as you start to hear their music a little more.

Sence you talked about Nightwish songs could fit in to movies, Did you know that they have actully released a Movie called "Imaginarium" it feat. the 2nd singer which you haven't heard about yet. Their new album has be recorded it is currently edited/mixed. It will be released in 2024. They won't be touring, but immediately continue to create the next album. If we are lucky that will be out by the end on 2025....and THEN you can see them in a stadium 'near' you.
I love all their songs but this is my absolute favorite one. I discovered them last year. I have and listened to a ton of their productions but im happy to say i know i still have more to go. I can't get tired of them. I have to watch my conversations with others. 14:10 You're never too late to the party when it concerns Nightwish. I've seen hundreds of comments of people who discovered Nightwish on a later age. In fact I think it's an advantage because you will appreciate the music, the lyrics, the musicianship and the whole vibe more. Stacey, you are doing a great job, love to see your next video. The song belongs to the album/film music Imaginaerum. The text introduces the main character of the Movie Imaginaerum. The movie is probably also the reason for the falling out with Anette, the second singer. She becomes pregnant unplanned at the start of the tour and demands an early termination. The movie hadn't premiered yet and nobody knew whether it would recoup the costs. The loss of income due to an early termination was unacceptable for the band. Anette allowed herself to be persuaded to be replaced, but completely rejected the desired replacement: Floor Jansen. Floor was already a well-known singer and Anette was afraid that she wouldn't come back. For her, that's the end of the matter. But Tuoamas hires Floor behind her back. During the US tour, Anette has to go to the hospital because of a high fever and the two female singers from the touring bands spontaneously replace her at the request of the audience. Anette is again afraid of being replaced and complains from the hospital that the concert took place without her. When she comes back she gives another concert and has probably found out that she will be replaced again. An argument breaks out and Anette must have given the band a choice: they cancel Floor or she leaves, two days before the next concert. The band decides against Anette. Afterwards, Tuomas calls Floor and hopes that she can come and somehow learn the new setlist in 48 hours. Compared to Anette's list, he has included more old Tarja songs. He now has someone with a classical education again. Floor says about her first performance that her voice was only 50 percent there, that she sometimes sang the lyrics from the front row of fans and didn't know how to move on stage and when. Tuomas says she was perfect. A few weeks later the film has its world premiere and Floor is sitting in the front row. None of the band members seemed happy that day. The current album came out in 2019: NIGHTWISH - Shoemaker (Official Lyric Video) A new one will appear at the beginning of 2024. However, the pandemic has disrupted their touring routine, which is why the tour for the album is canceled. What happens next is uncertain. Floor turns Plan B into Plan A and will tour with her solo program: Floor Jansen - Me Without You (Live at @RadioVeronica)
The former Nightwish drummer Jukka had to stop playing with the band, due to horrible and chronic insomnia. He powered thru it for as long as he could, but when he finally stepped down, he selected his friend (and awesome drummer) Kai Hahto.
Jukka still works with the band in a managerial position.
The new drummer Kai stepped in for their 2015 tour and was ought to be Jukka's substitute only as long as Jukka's recovery should last. Yet in 2019 Jukka announced his ultimate resignation.

Floor lives here in Sweden with her family and they often visit a store where my brother-in-law works. He can confirm that she and her husband are super nice every time they come in to shop.

Great point about Floor. While I am not naive enough to think that Floor is a 100% perfect person. Everything I've ever seen about her, seems to show her as such a kind, sweet, funny, hard working and honorable person. I agree that she would be a good role model for a young woman.

I concur. On stage she is a Valkyrie Goddess. Is perfect on stage no but mostly she is and fans (Nightwish Army) of Nightwish and Floor love her dearly.
Offstage from what I seen she is a sensitive woman who needs time in the green when touring and loves to horseback ride in the Sweden area she lives in with her children and husband Hannes (drummer of Sabaton).

@@antoinebrg6299 He was critical of the recording companies and what he considered their desire for bands to be like an assembly line with their music, churning out material on a timed schedule. Artists like Tuomas operate on a different wavelength when it comes to creativity. Sometimes it comes in waves and sometimes it comes drip by drip. Personally I think that's what's wrong with music in the U.S. Too many cookie cutter bands and not enough bands inventive like Nightwish.
Floor took over vocal duties half way through this tour and I believe this was the last gig of the tour. Which makes her performance all the more remarkable. Apparently when she was asked to step in she had 48hrs to learn the set.
At the time this was the biggest audience Floor had ever performed in front of, 80K plus.

Important point: This was not the last gig of the tour. That show was later in the month, I believe in the last week of August in 2013.
In point of fact, the documentary actually shows the band talking to the audience right before the last song, of the last show, of the tour -- and it is not the show at Wacken 2013.

@@StaceyRPGReacts Eventually you'll get to the documentary titled, "Learn The Set-list In 48 Hours". You'll get to know them behind the scenes of everything they do. They have a documentary of the behind scenes of making an album too. it's really interesting to watch how they go through the process of making an album. They get together with the London Philharmonic symphony, and showcase this. Tuomas, the keyboardist is the metal Mozart that composes most of the compositions. They all contribute in a symbiotic fashion to pull off all this great music.
I recommend checking out Floor’s reaction to Ghost Love Score, or one of her “day-in-the-life”videos on her RUclips channel. There are also several documentary-style videos about her. All the videos mentioned make her down-to-earth genuineness even more apparent.
I concur, and check out her covid time Storytime and Fan Friday short q&a videos on her YT channel as well.
Unfortunately Marko did leave the band. His comment at the time that it was for his mental health, and frustration with the business side of music. I really hope he will perform again with Nightwish at least an occasional reunion. His vocals with Floor's are just so good, and so missed.
I hope he does come back but totally understand if he doesn’t. I can only imagine what the music industry is like
I think he will, if time and place etc. comes together, I mean have done some work with Tarja not so long ago they did "Phantom of the Opera together. So I wouldn't rule it out.
Marco recently gave an interview in which he ruled out rejoining Nightwish in future. Shame.

The best version is at Wembley Arena as lots of camera angles when Floor growls. You haven't quite seen every style that Floor can sing, many surprises are yet to come. Every Nightwish song is pretty much a genre in itself. There's so much left to experience.
This one is more mainstream and accessible than a lot of their songs. That's probably what you were getting at. It's also why I think it's a great introduction to Nightwish for people unfamiliar with them.

Yes, this song is certainly one of their more rock- radio friendly songs. That's the great thing about Nightwish, is that their sound can vary much from song to song. Like a modern day Queen or Led Zepplin.
For someone who is “not a musically savvy person” you sure dissected and analysed the song with great insight.
With Nightwish, they don’t really have a “style”. They have so many influences that each song is different.
To prove that, I think you are ready for one of their heaviest songs. “Yours Is An Empty Hope” introduces growly Floor!
I really liked that you brought up Floor as a role model. She may seem goddess like at times but she really is down to earth at the same time.

Okay, I'm officially on board for this journey of a lifetime - Subscribed! I found Nightwish about fifteen years ago, but had a heard time with the heavy opera of Tarja. When I found Floor, I fell deeply in love and they're my all-time favorite band. Tuomas is, without doubt, the greatest composer of my lifetime, and you will see what I mean as your travel further on this amazing trek. As an old drummer, I agree that Jukka is fantastic, but when you finally hear Kai ... you'll love him. He's Jukka's mentor and dear friend. When Jukka had to leave for health reasons, he recommended Kai. He did us all a favor! Jukka stuck around in Band Administration, but I heard he finally left. He's always family! Stay happy, Stacey ... we love you!
Speaking of Floor as a perfect Idol for a daughter: She actually has a 5 year old daughter with the "Sabaton" drummer Hannes. That HAS to be the next musical super talent 🙂

I love how Jukka is getting credits he deserves 🥁 I admire him so much as a drummer. He had to step aside because of imsomnia and migraine. His style when drumming. I think that you are ready to get to know Floor from her personal side. For this reason, I would like you to strongly recommend "SMS The Floor Jansen Story".
Floor's voice is a complete instrument, she can do anything vocally. You haven't heard her growl yet, but she can. She can also sing full-on opera. Floor is one of the sweetest people I have ever me, and so not a diva.
3:18 what happens is that remember that the band has gone through 3 vocalists, the first was "tarja", toumas (the pianist) is the one who owns the band and composes the songs, for which the first songs you heard They were composed for "Tarja" which was a very operatic voice, however this one is more "cryppy", because it was made for "Anette Olzon" which Anette is the one who has made my favorite albums from this band, here "floor" She was new to the band, and there were no songs for her yet.

Storytime is from the concept album Imaginarium, and the songs were written for and first preformed by the band's 2nd singer, Anette Olson. Floor has little if any trouble with songs written for either Tarja or Anette.

They had two more shows after Wacken, then the tour would be over. The band had been on tour for a year and a half, changed singer mid tour and they all knew by then that Floor was the one. That's what all the smiles are about, the unity, they were a whole band again and the love from the fans, too.
Also, this has definitely become the ultimate version of the song and Floor was giving it her best belting in this performance.

5:50 Technically, although Jukka no longer plays drums due to health issues, he is still in the band - he is now CEO of Nightwish company. The current drummer, whom you haven't seen yet, is called Kai Hahto and he is also an outstanding drummer, although his playing style and sound are a little different.

I highly recommend that you start exploring this next era with the song "Shudder Before The Beautiful" (Live at Wembley Arena 2015). This song started every show of that tour (and also the album) and you can find it on their official channel.

If you want to step it up a bit more then there’s Romanticide, from the same concert is good. If you want top gear then Yours is an empty hope live from Wembley is the way! But Floor has a history before Nightwish if you really want to hear Floor going further with what she’s done in Nightwish!

The smile on your face says it all about Nightwish - 100% FUN ! ! ! There are at least 2 video documentaries on Floor. One is a reunion with her high school classmates, I think were part of her musical work in school. The second shows her life with her family on their farm. Both are worth the time to watch. During the pandemic and lockdown, she did a couple minute video each Friday where she opened up alot. Everything I've seen or heard of her off stage is, she's as solid a person as you could hope to be.

If you ever watch the end credits of one of their live videos, you will notice that EVERYONE is listed in the credits, even the crew that works to set up the stage and transport their equipment. No one is forgotten. I have never seen another band do that.
@StacyRPG: Jukka Nevalainen is still with Nightwish as part of management. He merely stepped down from performing because of ongoing insomnia. Believe me, he did not want to step down, but felt he was going to hurt himself had he kept going.
Despite this, I did read an interview Tuomas had with a French metal magazine where he mentioned that Jukka has played a few small shows, and really wants to get back on the kit and play again. His favorite song, by the way, is Last Ride of the Day.
That being said, Jukka is much loved in the Nightwish Army, just as much as Floor or Tuomas is.

You see Stacy, Floor is with no doubt THE metal queen in recent time. Her capabilities are border less. From belting to smooth, from growls to soft and silky, from metal to songs with a profound meaning and from a range of almost four octaves, from sing songwriter to covers and sometimes better than the original and all of this. But this Floor is also a wonderful warm -hearted , approachable person, family mother with respect for her fans as wel as her co musicians. And although she is the queen of metal; jealousy, ego and diva behaviour is strange to her. A person you could run into in the street, have a chat and lets go for a drink. Advise: look on you tube for her interviews from the past and you will find out. Nice reaction by the way.
WOW!!❤❤❤ Jukka Nevalainen the drummer suffers from insomnia and could not continue touring. He is still with the band with different things to do. He choose Kai Hahto to replace him. Kai is a brilliant drummer- He was in Wintersun before. Marko left Nightwish, he did not feel well and he was pissed off with the musicindustri...He was replaced with the basplayer from Wintersun(Jukka Koskinen) aswell..Cheers from a finn in Sweden.

A few words about the Dutch Goddess Soprano Floor Jansen; she got into music in her early teens, learning Classical music, opera and rock. She sang with her own two bands for years until she left music, citing burnout.
The Nightwiah founder, Dutch keyboardist Tuomas Holopainin, had worked with Floor so he called her and asked her to stand in for his current singer who was pregnant. After some thought, Floor accepted and has been Nightwish's lead singer since 2012.
The beauty of Nightwish, every song is different with a surprise!🎸🤘
The songs are balanced so well that it's almost clinical, in the best sense of the word. All musicians are top tier. You could listen to anyone play alone for an hour and blow you away. But they have no need for ego tripping during the performance. The solos aren't elongated to stroke the guitarists ego. The choirs and background strings are sprinkled there when needed. You never feel that there's too much of anything there, or one instrument overpowering the other. They are all equal.
Also, look at the pyros. They are timed perfectly to the music. They have their own guys with them and they don't miss a beat.
Floor really lives every word she sings. Her pronounsation is so freaking clear, you can understand every word!! The composition of every song they play is crasy!!! Tuomas is really the Mozart of the 21st century!!!

You're spot on.They are breathtaking and a complete pleasure to watch them perform. Every concert the do, is epic and full of the same craft that they possess with intricate precision. It's all so good LIVE. I've never heard any other band perform so tight, and perfectly in-sync with one another. They all give where needed. It's as if they are one machine with many parts working together in unison. Truly remarkable. You need to check out Floor documentaries. She's her genuine self at home with her family and her horses. Final Fantasy 7 Remake creators actually did little tribute to Floor Jansen in it. There is character that looks like Floor Jansen.
You are right that there is a different feel to this song. The first songs you've watched were either performed by or written for the first operatic singer Tarja Turunen whereas this was written for the second singer Anette Olzon who had a pop style and couldn't sing the middle operatic section. Of course Floor sings it all except her growls. LOL

I wasn't Shure about the sincerity of your reactions until this one. Your reaction is spot on. Nightwish is a once in a generation band that combines the best of rock and symphonic music. Their performance at Waken in 2013 set the stage for the best of what this music can offer.

Jukka (the drummer) is still with the band, just not performing anymore. he had to stop for health reasons. He is part of the band's administrative team now.
Floor came because her singer was ill, so the first idea was to sing with Nightwish 'til the end of the tour at Wacken 2013. That's why she's giving 200% at her "last" concert with Nightwish. And thanks Gods Nightwish asked to be her singer.
Floor says "wow" at the end of a few performances, so you are in good company.
You should listen to their song The Greatest show on earth after this, It's about the earth's birth etc and you can read about it. Even listen to Floor in Floor Jansen & Henk Poort - Phantom Of The Opera | Beste Zangers 2019, It's amazing.
Then you could listen to the band Sabaton and their songs Christmas truce, you can hear Floor in the end of it, No bullets fly (animated) it have a really nice ending, Bismarck, The last stand etc. All Sabatons songs have a historic background that you can read about, and they have a historic channel where they're breaking down the songs. I really hope you're going to read about the storys before listening to the songs (Google or outher), it gives the words and videos a bigger content.....
Fun fact is that Floor Jansen in Nightwish is married to the drummer in Sabaton.
they have so much different songs and styles of singing..a great and very long song divided into sections is also the poet and the pendulum on the wembley 2016 concert..I think it was played the last time as the composer found it to be perfect played out. also empty hope if you want to see her growl (as you liked pisces from jinjer already) and the bass player sing ;) also wonderful "shoemaker" with amazing opera sound at the end, requiem to a man named shoemaker (the only real person burried on the moon). in addition her showing up in best zangers singing songs of other artists, her entry as the "metal lady" with "vilja" song was just so fun to listen and watch, you see her joy so much performing it for her idol sitting in the audience

A lot of Nightwish's music has changed in production based on the era the songs are written. The other tracks you heard like Ghost Love Score and Ever Dream, those were composed for how Tarja sung, so by principle they're more accompanied by operatic similarities or literally as so and that, also by principle, is going to be more symphonic, so you'll see a very noticeable change in music composition and you'll start to familiarize which songs would've been composed for Tarja and which ones were not, even just by hearing Floor sing as you start to hear their music a little more.

The whole band is incredible .... they make me grin like a maniac one minute, then bring tears to my eyes the next. Tuomas is a genius of epic proportions, and in Floor (along with the rest of the band) he has the perfect tool to manifest his vision and present something truly extraordinary. Floor is a transcendent talent and the band are all masterful musicians. A synergistic glory that is completely and utterly ineffable. Together, they have a way of touching your soul. You are absolutely correct. Floor, and Tarja, are my role models. Best Role models ever.
Their new album has be recorded it is currently edited/mixed. It will be released in 2024. They won't be touring, but immediately continue to create the next album. If we are lucky that will be out by the end on 2025....and THEN you can see them in a stadium 'near' you.
They don't start making another album. They go on a complete break. Third Auri album maybe, but not Nightwish.

As of now only Tuomas (songwriter, keyboard) and Emppu (guitar) are left from the band's original ensemble from 1996.
I love all their songs but this is my absolute favorite one.
I discovered them last year. I have and listened to a ton of their productions but im happy to say i know i still have more to go. I can't get tired of them.

14:10 You're never too late to the party when it concerns Nightwish. I've seen hundreds of comments of people who discovered Nightwish on a later age. In fact I think it's an advantage because you will appreciate the music, the lyrics, the musicianship and the whole vibe more.

The song belongs to the album/film music Imaginaerum. The text introduces the main character of the Movie Imaginaerum.
The movie is probably also the reason for the falling out with Anette, the second singer. She becomes pregnant unplanned at the start of the tour and demands an early termination. The movie hadn't premiered yet and nobody knew whether it would recoup the costs. The loss of income due to an early termination was unacceptable for the band. Anette allowed herself to be persuaded to be replaced, but completely rejected the desired replacement: Floor Jansen. Floor was already a well-known singer and Anette was afraid that she wouldn't come back. For her, that's the end of the matter. But Tuoamas hires Floor behind her back. During the US tour, Anette has to go to the hospital because of a high fever and the two female singers from the touring bands spontaneously replace her at the request of the audience. Anette is again afraid of being replaced and complains from the hospital that the concert took place without her. When she comes back she gives another concert and has probably found out that she will be replaced again. An argument breaks out and Anette must have given the band a choice: they cancel Floor or she leaves, two days before the next concert. The band decides against Anette. Afterwards, Tuomas calls Floor and hopes that she can come and somehow learn the new setlist in 48 hours. Compared to Anette's list, he has included more old Tarja songs. He now has someone with a classical education again. Floor says about her first performance that her voice was only 50 percent there, that she sometimes sang the lyrics from the front row of fans and didn't know how to move on stage and when. Tuomas says she was perfect. A few weeks later the film has its world premiere and Floor is sitting in the front row. None of the band members seemed happy that day.
