I remember waiting for the 64DD to come out in the US. I think it would have been pretty nice and ahead of its time. It would have allowed basically DLC but back before the internet was widespread. And also missed opportunities for games, one that I remember was the game Unreal (I remember reading in a magazine, and now Wikipedia also confirms that it was canceled).

There have been PLENTY of girls trying to use just their looks/personality to grow a gaming channel and it NEVER works out. This channel is growing because the content is genuinely great. It wouldn’t surprise me if you thumbed up your own comment.

There's a prototype copy(s) of Killer Instinct II for SNES out there somewhere. The game was complete but never released unfortunately. By the time it was ready to be released, the N64 was either released or was about to. That game would have been amazing. But now we will never know...

The concept of local multiplayer in a 3D Mario game wouldn't truly be realized until Super Mario 3D World, which is probably my favorite game in the series.
My first 3D game on console was this game. I was impressed, but we all knew about 3D from PC already, so it was more about how fun the game was and not how 3D was its only thing going. A true masterpiece indeed.

I'm not surprised there wasn't a sequel. The N64 gen only last 5 years. Kinda makes me think of how short generations used to be more acceptable. Nowadays a lot of people think every generation should last 10 years. Back in the old days, people seemed fine with getting a new console every 5-6 years.
In the 80s and 90s, people used to use computers for about 2 years. I guess they didn't buy as much software and got sick of the same games and threw it all up.
@@G.L.999 I'm talking about from when it launched until the next gen console comes out. N64 launched in 96 and GC in 2001. Because after the next gen console comes out, they usually stop making 1st party games for the last gen.

Based on my earlier comment *and* a comment by Myamoto about working the game onto another system, this happened when "Super Mario 64" was ported to the DS; additional levels, stars, and characters were added, and some ideas that were scrapped found a use, in one form or another, in the game.
There was a LOT of things they *wanted* to put in the game (such as playing as Luigi or riding Yoshi), but they ran into technical limitations. Emulation, in my mind, would be the answer; finishing up the unfinish stuff according to "The Cutting Room Floor" website and the "Super Mario 64 Iceberg" would VASTLY improve the game. Even implementing what we _know_ would have been in the fifth floor; the "delicious cake", Bowser's room, the inner garden court, the labrynthian hallways, etc. ...

I think the N64DD sequel was meant to be used WITh the original cartridge simultaniously, to ADD the missing elements to the game. Pretty much, this is somewhat similar to "Sonic 3 and Knuckles".

You are correct. Syper Nario 64-2 for DD became Super Mario 64.DS. On a completely different subject, the leaks showed that Ura Zelfda originally supposed to be far more than remixed dungeons. A Gossip stone in the logs would reveal palace of that a Palace of Darkness was meant to be hidden in the Gerudo desert. It looks to me like it was reused in the Ikana in MM, as a cave looked to the Palace of Darkness in A Link to The Past. The Spider Dungeons dungeons.in MM were to be in the Ura Zelda When Aonuma lost interest in Ura Zelda, he went to Miyamoto wishing to work a more innovating and progresive title. He was given a year to on Zelda Gaiden. the new stuff meant for for Master Quest repurposed., in MM.

To me Banjo Kazooie was one of the most interesting games of the late 90s. I bought it on release and I got completely engrossed in its charm.

Getting four CRT tvs together would be a herculean effort, though.
