Glad to see a new reaction to this. It’s a violently underrated movie almost strictly because people who insist they’re “intelligent” felt the need to drag the movie in service of their ego. “I can’t understand it so it has to be a bad movie”
The movie is very much all about the experience not about trying to “get it” that said it’s sucha rewatchable movie - around the 3rd time I saw it I realized that the movie in reverse is literally the sequel so then that made me fall in love with the movie.

Seeing it in IMAX the way Nolan intended was a physical experience. The action and beautiful cinematography hits different on a 7 storey screen coupled with the ground shaking IMAX sound boost. Notable highlights in IMAX include the opera siege, the plane crash, the truck hijack and the final battle.

Hey, man, the movie was about a plot to prevent the future from destroying their own past, which is the present.
Just one word: Inversion. It's not time travel. But you're going backwards through time. Like if it's 9:30 PM, it's suddenly goes to 9:29, then 9:28, and so on going back.

Didn’t get it on the first watch either but that’s what’s special about it. On the first watch, you see things from the perspective of The Protagonist as you are exposed to all these events whilst grappling with these concepts thrown at you. On a second watch after learning about all the details, you see things through Neil’s perspective as he is going through these events knowing more than he’s letting on.

You have to treat the movie as a temporal pincer movement. You carry out the action of watching it, then watch it again knowing everything, in order to understand all sides.

The thing I love the most about this fucking movie is that you can rewatch and rewatch over and over again, and the most you think of, more joy you have... I truly recommend that everyone should investigate the concepts that this movie brings, cus bro, they all make sense narratively and physically. A piece of art in format of movie, and I'm glad that I did'nt give up on this experience.

Nolan is a mastermind when it comes to this. Tenet isn't as beloved as interstellar or inception, but conceptually, it's right on par with those two and maybe even more creative.

    Hey Buddy,
It's impossible to follow the first time (on purpose). The more you watch it, the more fun it is and the more sense it makes.
Also, Neil is MaximiLIEN (maybe) *Makes the whole movie even cooler when you realize this is probably the case. And why Niel cares so much about protecting Kat.

It’s my favorite or one of my all-time favorite movies.
I’ve seen it dozens of times.
Someone even uploaded a backwards copy on YT. Not sure if it’s still around but I watched that too. 😂
I wish it had been in 3D.
There are tons of gems for those who enjoy really thinking through this stuff.
A simple example is that Neil, who was waiting for the Protagonist to tell him it was safe to take Kat into the airport building, actually entered BEFORE the Protagonist told him to…due to being inverted.
Another nugget is the theory that Neil is Kat’s son, all grown up.

There’s one question I have about tenet. The theory is that The Protagonist, after all the events of the movie occurs, founds the tenet organization to recruit himself in the past to save the world and so on… you understand the theory. But how would he found the tenet organization in the future if it already exists? He recruits himself in the past, but why would his past self have to found tenet if it already exists?
