    Thanks for the Instal vid! I just got mine and installed it on my ‘15 2.0 Hatch. Loving the sound and the completed look with the other mods. Your vids really helped make the difference in deciding for Borla. Thanks!

    Thanks for your video and instructions, your videos and The Adventure Mazda videos helped me decide to get this exhaust system for my '16 Mazda3. I am happy to report that Borla now includes the bolts and nuts needed to attach the exhaust. Their instructions still suggests using a 13mm socket for the nuts on the stock exhaust but I needed a 14mm to take them off and put on their nuts and bolts, along with a 15mm socket to tighten the clamps.

      +MrSk8erkal Of course!! glad we could help! hopefully they saw our videos and decided to include them! Congrats on the Borla!

    Just FYI, dish soap works better for getting the exhausts on and off from the rubber hangers.
    Thanks for the Borla sound video though. Thinking about trading in my mazdaspeed 6 for one of the new mazda 3 and couldn't find a good borla exhaust sound clip

    • @GregPettus

      I didn't think about soap... That might have made it even easier. Will keep that in mind. Thanks!
      Youre very welcome. Yeah I was searching for a while for exhaust clips bc I wanted one that was unique. I decided to just go in kinda blind haha.

      Yea I've replaced my ms6 catback with a magnaflow and my buddy's corolla s with a borla axleback. Dish soap is the method i've found that works the best and its thick enough that it'll stick to it a little bit instead of immediately dripping off

    • @GregPettus
      @GregPettus  7 лет назад

      hmm did you notice any long term damage because of the soap?

      Greg F. Pettus I wiped most of it off after removal/install, but i havent seen/heard of any damage from dish soap

    "it's welded onto stock muffler"
    No wonder I couldn't get it off with my wrench!!
    Had I known. I thought I needed an impact socket to take them off.

    Glad I stumbled into your channel, great tips and I like your setup on your 3. I have a black '16 Mazda 6 and I've had it for 2 yrs and still Love it. If Mazda decides to release a Mazdaspeed 6 or 3 I might have to get one lol. Im still deciding what exhaust and intake lol 😂

    Does changing the exhaust void the factory warranty on ur Mazda 3

    • @GregPettus
      @GregPettus  7 лет назад +1

      LividxDxFluffy for your factory exhaust it does. if they can prove that you adding the aftermarket exhaust effects the part that needs replacing then they could void the warranty for that part. just tip. if you are worried its going to affect it. the just reinstall the factory exhaust before going into the dealer

    does the sound of the exhaust ever get annyoing at times from the inside?
    i only ask because ill use my car to travel sometimes 500-800miles and wouldnt want people riding with me to get annoyed haha.

    • @johnsaenz5980
      @johnsaenz5980 6 лет назад

      maybe not annoying but, gets to be too much sound at times

    • @GregPettus
      @GregPettus  6 лет назад +2

      At cruising speeds it has not much sound. Will be even quieter with the stock air intake. When you get on the streets it has a growl but isnt obnoxious.

    • @GregPettus
      @GregPettus  6 лет назад +1

      Totally get you. Been wanting to straight pipe my car but dont want to sacrifice with obnoxious noise for the longer drives

  • @oswaldoflores9206
    @oswaldoflores9206 2 года назад

    Couple questions lol.
    Does it affect your warranty? Would you fail the emissions tests?
    Ps: i got me one and I still make payments for it. Maybe I just can’t swap and modify my car in any way lol :(

    • @GregPettus
      @GregPettus  2 года назад

      Technically yes but only for the exhaust. There shouldnt be any mechanical issues with the axleback. I have my warranty and have never had issues.
      No will not fail smog emissions because it only replaces from the axle back. Both cats are in tact. (also depends on state)
      Install it! and when you are worried just switch it back out for OEM.
      Hope this helps!

      as long as you have a hatch nothing. Just bolts on in the back. No need to change anything under the hood.

    How long did it take you to install the exhuast?

    • @GregPettus
      @GregPettus  6 лет назад

      like total an hour and a half maybe?
      The hardest part is taking the stock exhaust off the rubber hangers

  • @tigerbalm666
    @tigerbalm666 6 лет назад +2

    Drone is a result of the stock muffler. Magnaflow does not have a muffler (only resonator) so no drone. TIP for those who do not work on their cars..GO HAVE A SHOP DO IT! You will thanks me for this important suggestion! Installing a catback even on ramps is EXAUSTING and time consuming work, not to mention dangerous. I had to cut my stock pipe to get it out, so I had to buy a sawzall. Took me 6 hours over 2 days and I have a lot of tools, ramps, jack stands, 2 hydraulic jacks. I hope i never do this again, gladly pay a shop $100 to do it!
