Yup, Michael McDonald is the guy in the middle. He's one of the greatest singers ever! He went out on his own and wrote and sang and played piano on absolute classics of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Listen to him sing with James Ingram "Yay, I'm Gonna Be There" and Pattti LaBelle "On My Own"
that's "Ya Mo Be There"
You gotta hear The Doobie Brothers “Takin it to the Streets”, a really cool protest song calling for unity ♥️💪
Yes, that should be next. Then " "MINUTE BY MINUTE" and "IT KEEPS YOU RUNNING"!
You are hearing the fabulous voice of Michael McDonald, the Doobie Brothers were huge back in the day!
The guy in the middle is the lead singer. His name is Michael Macdonald and he has one of the greatest soulful voices ever recorded. He was a member of Steely Dan's band at one time. He has done studio work with other musicians and bands as well. You should listen to Steely Dan's "Peg" because you can definitely hear his vocals in the background.
"The Doobie Brothers - Takin' It To The Streets (1977)" you can never go wrong with the "doob's" this is one of the best harmony bands of the 70's and 80's. Glad to see the younger generation open to great classic rock n roll. I hope you enjoy your journey to discovering beautiful music 🎶 👍🫠
Check out this Lead Singer doing a duet with Patty Labelle called " On My Own " ! Awesome !!!
Music brings brothers together. Great reaction.
You just were introduced to Michael McDonald one of a kind and yes the guy in the middle....he's a legend and was fantastic with the Doobie Brothers who are a phenomenal band but has played with many bands and went solo also. Love your reaction❤
The song is about a guy who runs into a gal that he had a thing for some time ago. He remembers their relationship fondly. But it was one-sided, as she bareley remembers him at all.
I went to their 50th Anniversary concert, and they sounded amazing. Michael McDonald was with them. Michael sang lead on this song. Guy in the middle. They are still groovy.
Yes bro. Dude in the middle. Blue-eyed soul.
Michael McDonald has a voice that you recognize instantly. Classic! Abd the volume on your music is good, however we can barely hear YOU.
It won Grammys for both Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
It's a great sound/song. That is exactly what it sounded like 44 year ago. Coming out of a car door 6 inch speaker.
That's definitely Michael McDonald in the middle singing. He looks older, but he was just 27 years old in that picture. He started going gray headed in his late teens and early 20s. Some song suggestions for him would be:
Sweet Freedom, I Keep Forgettin, Ya Mo Be There ft James Ingram, and Ever Changing Times ft Aretha Franklin!
Yes, the guy in the middle sings lead on this one; his name is Michael McDonald. He replaced Tom Johnston, and fans will tell you that the Pre-McDonald period is TOTALLY different than the period post-Johnston. I love them both. I believe that both singers are with the band now. They all sing, though.
The great Michael McDonald on piano and lead vocal. Dude in the middle. Also wrote the song among many others! Check out his “ I Keep Forgettin’” and guess who sampled it!
Scottie, the lead singer is the the guy in the middle, Michael Mc Donald.
The guy in the middle is Michael McDonald the lead singer.
Listen to I Keep Forgetting by the Lead singer Micheal McDonald. The melody was sampled in another great song. Can’t wait for you to hear it!
"What a fool believes, the wise man has the power to reason away. What seems to be is always better than nothing"
Love this reaction! Watching from Tupelo Mississippi ✌️
Thank you!!
yep its the white guy in the middle singin. Michael Mcdonald. You should check out takin it to the streets y the doobie brothers.
I had a feeling! It’s the beard!
Just made the same suggestion!
Worth noting he was singing and playing two keyboards
Great reaction! This is an amazing song. If you really want to hear some incredible music, I suggest you check out the band Queen. A legendary band, they have some of the greatest songs ever recorded. Bohemian Rhapsody is a great place to start if you’ve never heard it. I recommend the studio version to get the full effect of the song. If you do that one, I’ll give you some more. I promise you won’t be disappointed
Micahel McDonald collaberated with many of the greats and was a guest singer/songwriter with the band 'Steely Dan' in the 70's he was so talented they didn't want to let him go. If you are not familiar with Steely Dan you should treat yourself. ☮
Written by Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins. This won a Grammy for 1979 Song of the Year 🏆 . This song was in the TV 📺 comedy What's Happening. The episode had somebody try to make an illegal 🚫 bootleg 👢 copy of this song.
The future irony is that another Michael McDonald song would be sampled for a rap! 🤯
MM sang with Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, Patti Labelle, Toto and late James Ingram, RIP.
Suggested video 📹: Michael McDonald sings I Keep Forgettin'.
Guess who sampled that song?! 😃
Also Michael McDonald and James Ingram "Ya' Mo Be There"
Check out Long Train Runnin' and Takin' it to the Streets!
The lyrics are, “No wise man has the power to reason away what seems to be…”
It's "the wise man......."
@@mikemiller3069 Melissa is right!
@@tomwhited6443 Watch the GD video and actually listen. You are WRONG!
@@mikemiller3069It's 'NO wise man has the power to reason away what seems to be'
Melissa is right - and it's the entire point of the song!
@@ste1bro No it's not. Watch the live version and pay attention this time. It's very clear when they're showing them saying, "the wise man.....". And after you watch it and find out I'm right, you can retract your stupid post.
They're good,..we know,...that was fire 🔥,..we know!,..ohh dear young person,..so glad your going to give the Doobie Brothers a listen,..you won't be disappointed,..trust,..the album this song comes from,..Minute By Minute,..the whole album,..is good,..Open Your Eyes,..Here To Love You,(lots, lots of piano, keyboard, guy with the beard, Michael McDonald, plays, and of course more soulful crooning from him too), How Do The Fools Survive,...just do the whole album, and then, Real Love,..It Keeps You Running,..Taking It To The Streets,. Jesus Is Just Alright With Me,(many of their songs have a gospel, and blues, r&b touch,..but this song is all gospel, great song),..please do continue,..great band,..wonderful harmonies,..harmonizing,..enjoy,..Godspeed, Peace ✌
React to Sailing by Christopher Cross
If you like the Doobies , you would also like Chicago and Steely Dan.
Yep, it's the guy in the middle.
Guy in middle. Michael McDonald
You got to do a reaction to patty labell (on my own )the lead singer from the Doogie Brothers sing it with her micheal mc Donald.

Just a suggestion, try some the so gs with lyrics with the music... I think you will enjoy it more... Also you're a bit excessive on your pauses.... Feel the music 🎶.
