    Her English may not be grammatically correct but it is SO PLEASANT to listen to her speak that language.

    She made me 😭 cry. Specially when she said, I lost to Iga 6 other times, I was losing 0-4, I felt a strength holding me, in a normal match it would have been different. But in an Olympic match, athletes can feel their Country behind them. Specially the Chinese people.

    Finally, we have the long-awaited 'breakthrough' at the top level by a Chinese player. Tennis has been crying out for a genuine Asian champion able to compete on equal terms with Europeans and North Americans and those from 'down under'. Zheng Qinwen will bring more colour, humility and entertainment to the sport with her warmth of character and bright personality. A time to celebrate!

    Zheng was on a different level in her Olympics matches. You could see it in her eyes. During the finals, she was more relaxed than Donna. I feel and I hope this will translate into more success in the WTA tour because she got a "New Achievement Unlocked" moment, that "light bulb moment" that she knows she had it in her, always had it in her to win in big matches.
