    Iga is definitely a dominant force on the clay, but we should not lose sight of the fact that Zheng Qinwen also has made big strides in the last two years. Absolutely rooting for her!

      @@lindahhh there’s no way around the fact that there are hundreds of untested Chinese athletes, even after it was discovered that there were multiple Chinese athletes doped in the last olympics. Zheng has seemingly unlimited energy, in my opinion that’s suspicious. I’m not even a big Swiatek fan or smth.
      Imo that’s just very unfair for athletes from other nations

If u watched zhengs previous series vs Kerber it becomes quite obvious that Zheng doesn’t have „unlimited energy“ and was just as tired as any other player. The reason swiatek lost was just that she had 16 errors more than her opponent. Don’t accuse other people of things u have 0 clue about. (Every single person who is knowledgeable about tennis knows that she wasn’t doped)

      @@vincent7223 she literally wasn’t getting tired. Obviously doping doesn’t have the same effect in tennis as in sports like swimming or cycling, but it can obviously give u an unfair advantage. Btw if ur not as tired u make less mistakes naturally…and it was proven that many Chinese athletes were doped in the last olympics and that they weren’t tested this time so I don’t think it’s an unfair thing to assume that there could be doping involved

    Zheng was calm and had a great serve, while Iga made so many mistakes that she gave away set practically for free. It wasn't a good day for her.

      @@gablan1468 Iga had 36 unforced errors on her own, UNFORCED which means that Zheng didn't earn them, Iga made errors on her own. She told herself that her backhand was not working.

    Iga clearly had problems with handling pressure in this match. She was tense and stressed. This resulted in making tons of unforced errors. On the other hand, Zheng played superb tennis and made few errors. This is a great achievement by the Chinese player considering that the last time Iga lost in Paris was in 2021. Congratulations.

      If you have never watched tennis and don't know who was playing who, you would have thought that Zheng was the seasoned champion and Iga was the young player trying to break through in her biggest match against much more established talent. Zheng was calm, strong and accurate throughout the match. Iga took a lot of chances and made more unforced errors. That said, Zheng controlled most of the points either with her serve or just her better ground strokes. She was the better player on this day.

Her moonballs and percentage tennis was very effective against a tense Iga who clearly felt the pressure. And maybe Collins' unnecessary comments yesterday really did get to her.

    This just proves how great Kerber was playing when facing Zheng. She was able to neutralize Zhengs powerful strokes and forcing a lot of errors from zhengs racket. That form me was THE match of the Olympics this year. An absolute nailbiter.

I would doubt her, she doing okay, If not the tie break wouldn't have been such a toss, First set well she is human at such we do have band wind in anything we do, I wouldn't for one sec doubt her mental strength she the most competent and serious young lady, She reminds me of Steffi

      @@djordjenikolic9059 She already reached an Australian Open final. Provided she maintains that level, I can see her stealing at least 2 Roland Garros titles from Iga, and maybe winning AO at some point.
      Of course there is always an option she won't have enough desire to get there. But the tools are there.

    She produces her best when her country's glory is on the line. Qinwen has never won to Iga 6 times Iga just won Rolland Garros a few weeks before.

    Congrats Zheng for today's n yesterday's game. I m a fan of Iga but you could see it wasn't her day after that awful n absolutely lack of respect or sportsmanship from Collins. Iga today was very distracted, Zheng played very accurate.
