    You have one of the best laser channels and I've watched a katrillion vids on lasers. You always seem to make the vids that others don't but everyone is wanting to learn just like this one. Nice job.

    Thanks for taking the time to make this (and other) very informative videos. This really helped me in getting my laser in my garage ready for the cold Canadian winter. I do have a heated garage, but the chiller lines are close to the uninsulated foundation wall and are subject to freezing without adding anti-freeze.

    I take it you don't need to extract any excess water in the tube via the hose? Will the chiller with new water just cycle all that through? I am finally changing my water on my personal machine after a year 😆, only because I was not using it regularly, now I am.

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  6 месяцев назад +1

      If your chiller is below your tube all of the water in the tube draines out when you do this process

    Quick question… when I installed my 35/80 I took the foam wrapped around the the laser tube off and I noticed you still have it on there. Does it matter ethier way? Thanks for the video always great content

    Great video Robert! What's your thoughts about building a "permanent" platform for your chiller that would be high enough to drain it without having to use a block or something? Do you know of any reasons that wouldn't work?

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  2 года назад +1

      Less head pressure on the pump. Don’t know why it wouldn’t work!

    So I'm about to do the opposite, remove the winter anti freeze water, and replace it with new fresh distilled water. Can I use tap water to flush the old antifreeze water out or do you recommend using another bottle of distilled water to flush it out ? and I mean empty, fill with hose water, empty again then fill with Distilled water?

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  Год назад +1

      Distilled water is the only thing recommended!

    Why does the water need to be changed at all, if using distilled water in a closed system? I was hoping to hear the answer but it was never mentioned in the video.

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  2 года назад +1

      yes it’s a closed system, But lots of documented cases of algae growth with the distilled water over time. this growth will increase the conductive properties of the water! this can ruin your pump on your chiller and contaminate your laser tube to the point of failure. ignoring this will eventually catch up with you!

      @@computercreationz great video and tips thank you. How often do you recommend the water is changed to negate the issues you have mentioned please?

    Hi Robert, thanks for the video. I was looking at the manual (NOLED) and it states how close both the sides and back of the chiller must be maintained from obstacles. That back its about 5 feet and the sides are 3 foot. I was wondering if this was true based on the position of yours?

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  2 года назад

      I don’t know anyone that would be able, to maintain those clearances!

    Hi, I have noticed some dirt in my tubes. Is there a way to remove this?

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  Год назад

      It shouldn’t be dirt it’s a classed system but it could be small algae chunks. Not good! Talke a look at your tube. You should be your distilled water a least once a quarter more in humid areas

  • @jennyb3850
    @jennyb3850 Год назад

    Hey Robert, It's been a year since this video...are you continuing to run almost a 50/50 antifreeze to water ratio? (It only freezes maybe 10 days out of the year here and just barely gets to freezing temps so I've been wondering about using diluted antifreeze as well.)

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  Год назад +1

      Yes it’s worked well so far! Remember you still need to change it regularly. The warmer the environment the more frequent you should change.

    • @jennyb3850
      @jennyb3850 Год назад

      @@computercreationz Thanks so are you running this combo all year (changing out regularly) or just for the "winter quarter" then back to 100% distilled water?

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  Год назад

      No just for the winter time then as soon as any freezing possibility has passed I got back to 100% distilled water. @@jennyb3850

    Do you turn everything off each night? If so do you have to check for air bubbles every day you turn it back on? I can’t find any videos or information on proper shutdown for Thunder laser.
    Also how often do you change your water out?

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  2 года назад +1

      Once you have all your air bubbles out you should have them show up, so no I don’t worry about it once they’re all gone. Yes I turn everything off once I’m done for the day. Assuming your laser is in a conditioned space. Depending how much heat your laser is exposed to on distilled water change, Thunder recommends once a month.

    I have a NOVA 51 with a 130W tube and have the chiller on a stand about 1Ft high. Is there any reason you keep the chiller on the floor?

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  2 года назад +1

      nope, in your case it’s actually better, it’s easier on the chiller water pump. less head pressure to move the water through the tube.
