I believe that assembling the right team for developing the required game is the most crucial factor. If you have the right team, financial and other terms do not matter as much. A team with passion and members who have great ideas for developing the game is likely to perform well in the market; otherwise, it may fall short. Many big companies face this problem-they lack passion for what they are developing, creating flashy trailers that don't meet people's expectations. This is why we are seeing a lot of game remakes in recent years.
