I need to see this art attack:)
@@vg5820 they used to show it in Venezuela, too, iirc
I loved this show lol
@@vg5820 here in Brazil it played till late 2000s, I loved that show!
@@vg5820 it was big here in Australia too ☺️
Eating soup with my bare hands or having a hand full of nice spoon rings? Hmm decisions.
At least your hands will look good while being plunged into soup
@@thevoid3976 you kitty owl genius.
Ah priorities 🤣
pick it up and slurp it!!
a soup is just a fancy drink! in a big cup!!!
@@thevoid3976 Good luck drinking clam chowder.
if there's a spoon shortage this year, I'll know why
😅 😬
Salad fingers loves ✨rusty spoons✨
Hahah I had forgot about salad fingers 😂
Hahahahaha
I dressed up like salad fingers for Halloween
Yassssss 🤗
“wow so strong” lol. Really upped the production huh, shmoxd 😂
Hahah what can I say. I’ll tear any pre cut fabric. No prob
There are boxes and boxes of old silver spoons for cheap at second hand shops because people mostly use stainless steel ones these days. Upcycling them into jewellery is a great idea! Good for the environment, too. :)
I can't believe you got Owen Wilson to guest narrate 😱
So very kind of him right!?
Tips for soldering:
Keep your metals clean! Solder does not like dirty metals. That is why flux is used; it keeps the metal clean whilst soldering, as heat makes the surface oxidise. Also, flux is not the healthiest stuff, so solder in a well ventilated area.
You don't need a lot of flux and you don't need a lot of solder. I don't know the pasty kind of flux, but I wouldn't normally heat up flux before applying the solder (I use liquid flux).
Heat the entire piece of jewellery up very well (with the "big flame" on the torch, aka. the outer most part of the flame), and when everything is really hot, move closer to the solder with the "small flame", where the flame is blue-ish. My guess as yo why the solder didn't work the first time was because the ring itself wasn't heated properly, but I'm not sure. Happy you made it work in the end, though. The rings look awesome!
Thank you Charlie!! I hope people who try soldering their rings read this first!:):
Correct! ring needs to be heated first with a larger softer red flame. Flux prevents oxidation, you don’t need a lot of it, but too much doesn’t do any harm either (well, If u use a liquid one, the piece you’re trying to solder won’t hold in place as it’s slipping). Then, after placing bezel and solder, heat locally with a sharper and shorter blue flame. You want to keep a distance not too close, not too far from the tip of your flame. Also, there are three types of solder (soft, medium, hard) depending on what you want to do. And voilà 😊
@@Shmoxd oh ya, something else too is if you quench your metal (dunk it in water) right after it's heated, the quick temp change can snap off whatever joint you solder, so I recommend letting it cool down on its own on gravel-y stuff :)
PS: this is one of my fave vids of yours, it's really cool how you did the two methods, it's super accessible & I liked the silly voice over comments behind the voiceover
Thank you
I love this new intro so much, and the transition animations are so nice.
In my opinion it is a bit to long...
Thanks! And you can always skip it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@Shmoxd Absolutely will.
Thank it's help me alot and it is easy
“Wow. Wash your hands.” Gets me every time. 😂 The rings look awesome!
They are still dirty 😬
@@Shmoxd Wow. Wash your hands. 🤣
stoked to be here 🥳 I made the hand ring a long time ago-excited for this new project! much love 💕
Saaaaaame!!
Yah! They were pretty fun and easy to make
Wow that's super neat! How'd they turn out?
@@4estherv the hand ring was so much fun and the ring is so unique-I always get compliments. I just got al the supplies for the spoon ring and plan on starting the project next week! 🤍
The intro came out so perfect, I'm so proud of you for pulling it together and trusting me with the music
Thanks for making that tune!!:)
@@Shmoxd NOOO my pleasure bro, always down to work with you :)
Make pendants from those cutoff spoons lol
Ahhh and stamp lil words in em?:)
Ever see where they take the spoon place objects (crystals, gems, charms whatever) then resin is poured over top . It can then be worn ad a necklace. I have one i got from a Friend its the coolest thing!!
Listen, you are definitely one of my favourite artists! It feels like you not only want us to be apart of your process, but you also want us to try it ourselves. Giving the prices for the tools makes me more motivated to try the things that I’ve dreamed about doing. Thank you for being transparent. I love you!!
the amount of work poured into this beautiful art you create just baffles me, DUDE the talent and perseverance, the patience !!! i aspire to be as crafty as you are! and the whole new intro and outro! *chef kiss*
Wow thanks🤍🤍☺️
Really appreciate you showing how to do this with household items as well as pro tools!
The white block is simply a polishing compound :) at work we use red rouge, green rouge, blue picasso, tripoli, platinum 4000 and platinum 8000. Different grit in the compounds will leave a coarser or finer finish on the metal. Very cool video! Glad I watched.
Ahhh thanks! A bunch of people were asking in the comments as well:)
Which one would you recommend to start with ?
I'm not even going to pretend like I watch these videos for anything other than the fact that Brian is super cute
☺️☺️
Dude, same.
Crush activated 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Super cool project! At a camp when I was about 12 I made a silver ring where we took a 2mm silver rod, heated it and twisted it before forming into a ring and soldering shut. It's so cool to have a piece of jewellery you've made yourself from fine metals.
Can't wait to see what you make out of those spoon ends!
The intro is AMAZING!!!!
OMG THANK YOU FOR USING THE MASTERY DRILL! Ive owned it for so long but i never knew how to use any of the tools and all the other tutorials are too boring lol
Oh that cute lil guy has helped out in so many projects:) glad I could show ya some
You’re so good! Your rash really suits you. I really appreciate you showing the little mishaps. All too often, RUclipsrs just show perfection. You’re a breath of fresh air. Thank You. A big thumbs up from England. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That’s so so kind of you🤍🤍 thank you
Can’t wait for you to try crochet! I’ve been crocheting for 12 years and I love the comeback it’s making. I want to see your take on it
I’ve been wanting silver rings for a long time and now knowing that I have everything to make the first model I’m inspired to get crafty!
You can use the spoon ends to make large pendants for necklaces or soldier pins on the backs to make brooches. People will fill the concave side with stones, polymer clay, silver clay, beads, gold leaf, dried flowers, dead insects, small skulls, shells, small pictures, tiny keepsakes, teeth, fingerprints, lock of hair, etc then fill with resin. You can pigment the resin or leave clear. The sky is the limit. You can even simply paint a design on the spoon and cover with resin. If you have a kiln, you can even do enameling or silver clay or both. When you cut the heads off the spoons, leave some handle attached so you can make a hook that curls over for the attachment to a necklace. Fret not because you can also, of course, drill holes to put in a pretty clasp on the ones you cut too close! Waste not, want not. 😁
No way... Yesterday I just started making rings and now this video? Also loved the new into loool
hey! quick tip, i’ve really gotten into making rings (i saw a video about this i just don’t remember her name) and for your tools with teeth, if you get this thing called “plasti dip” and dip your tools into it, i dip my needle nose pliers and just my regular pliers, it makes a rubbery coating so there won’t be any chips or marks in your metal!!! you can just redip every time it gets worn down :))
Whoah! I love that. I’ll have to try it and thank you for sharing 🤍🤍
1:50 was genius and just another reason why I love this channel :')
The editing is always A1
I can’t believe I only just found out the that textured line part on nail clippers is supposed to be a file. You’re changing lives shmoxd
Just doing what I can.. lil by lil
I like how real this video is. He screws up and fixes it and that is honestly how I do everything in life.
Best intro on youtube. The effort you put into your videos does not go unnoticed. Your vids are seriously amazing
honestly love that you show your mistakes and how to fix them, it's nice seeing artists learn as they go along with their work
I picked up some spoons fr the thrift store the other day to do this so I’m SO HAPPY you posted this😫
did you make it yet?
The intro the content the flow the edit. Thank you for the inspiration.
I LOVED the ring made from the leftover part, the thin one. Keep up the good work
I’ve been wanting the silver hand ring for a while and I just bought a gold one! I’m excited to finally be able to support you!
Thanks so much:) hope you love it!
i bought a mandril to make rings out of forks a while back but didn’t know how to start, thanks for the inspo as always!
Lovin' the sick new intro! Miss the old one but the new one is dope for sure. 😊🤙🏽
Thank you!!
@@Shmoxd Omg you're welcome!! 😁
I love the Brooklyn 99 references. And the rest. Made me smile. I will be trying this as a first timer. Thanks
I just love these videos in wich you show your creative process.
Great video! I love the hand rings! At first I thought they were forks but forks don't have thumbs 🤣 Buffing metals to a mirror finish is one of my weaknesses.
I don't know if you listen to your videos but you have sound effects so strong. Got to love it
you manage to make me laugh multiple times in one video like no other 😂💜
Yayyyy!:)
Gotta say your channel is my safe haven. It's so calm yet educating
I build big metal sculptures and I even learned a trick or two! Appreciate it buddy.
I love your channel I always learn something new.
For stones that shine like diamonds you should polish the interior of the housing of the stone. It really helps with the end result, you should also invest in a ultrasonic cleaner, they cost like 60-70 $ and they will make your life much easier. They are a bit loud but still worth it. I was a jeweler apprentice so if you want more advice you can ask for it.
The results are really cool.
Keep it going
I can't stress enough how much I love your videos
Bryan it’s 2am.
I knowwwww.. hahah what are you doing up?
@@Shmoxd watching this video, also working on a threaded contrast canvas I’m doing
The opening is GREAT!
Awesome new intro, fun voice over "wash your hands" LOL. Cool new rings, but I want a darn hand ring. I've been trying forever to buy one and they're always sold out. Any hints on when your next batch will be out? Big Love
Sooo the golden ones are available right now:) I’ll probably do one more steel release in a month or so.. then after that I’ll be changing them a bit so may take a while
@@Shmoxd Cool. I'm going to check the shop every day. I am bound and determined to get one! lol
This is awesome! I’m tired of watching the “high tech” setups that some are using! I just wanted to make a couple of rings from my own spoon supply! No big mass production thing! Great vid! Thanks
Yesss! I’ve been thinking about making spoon rings, thanks for the tutorial
Wish I would've seen this last week! I made a little "rake" for a mini zen garden out of a fork, and bending the tines went...uhhh ok. Thanks for this!
Really great use of home tools.
Love this tutorial! Next time I hit up the thrift store I'm going to pick up some spoons and give this a try.
This is awesome! I was given a bunch of silverware to play with (was planning to make cuffs). Will start with a ring then!
Your rings turned out soo cool! 👏🏻😚👌🏻💜😍I really loved them with stones on too. Oh that golden hand ring is just soooo💣💣💣🗯🗯💥💜💜💜💜
I love the new intro and the adlibs you are adding. its so funny lmao please keep doing that :D
Hahah I had fun with this one:)
im in love with how you edit and add little voices this is the ideal channel and i love it and dont stop and sick overalls
You bet I'm going to make these myself! My grandmother had a lot of teaspoons and they've been sitting in the attic for a decade now, this is a cool way to repurpose them!
you're an icon for the 'tools from home' part &i would like to offer my personal thanks
The narration is always top tier
hey i love your work! keep making cool stuff and stay safe!
I'm not trying to make spoon rings but this was really helpful in figuring out how to polish a bunch of cutlery I just thrifted
Damn, lawlz at the edits and commentary. Also, hell yeah! Spoon rings are my jam! 🖤
The new intro, the transitions, the editinggg! golden ✨✨
Thank you!!:):)
Yeah... smoother and cohesive
NICE editing and intro man!!! Such a huge difference from before👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!!
This is the best video I have watched to learn about how to make rings thank you
watching you do metalwork is making me miss my intro level jewelry class :') i still have a bunch of supplies from it i'd love to send along since i'm like 95% sure i'm never gonna use them again, if you want em!
I think you should keep it for that 5%:)
can we just talk about how he's adapted to brooklyn nine nine's mannerisms? literally my favourite thing ever, he says noice and cool cool cool cool cool i love that sm
The transitions are so neat!
Excellent production and style
You are sooo talented and creative!
holy carp! the intro is beautifully done. great work man
I always thought it was hard, but u explained it well enough to get how it works
hey ! ive been watching ur stuff for a bit. i love ur new animations
Bro the commentary has me laughing so hard. I love ya shmoxd!
This was lovely. You're video is very well done! I haven't enjoyed a tutorial video for awhile lol
Loving the new intro 👏👏👏

This is really cool, gonna start wearing rings now

As a bench jeweler in training, I am so impressed with the inventiveness
Your Owen Wilson wow's are so spot on.
Dope intro and edits! And I LOVE this project!
you're insanely creative ...tysm for this video!
New intro is fire!!
Never too late for a shmoxd video. 😻🤩
New intro is LIT!
PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE
Awesome videos dude now I know what to do with my sterling silver spoons and knives
Super cool to have one and it became a gift from a friend who is passed now. Her father made it and it will be cherished forever. Neat video 🆒 ❤️
Love you Karen.
Omg you are my kinda people. Great video....being a poor starving artist i try and find things around the house to create with. Just starting to get into making rings and this is truly the bees knees for me....thanx!!!
That was the best intro/outro ever!!
ThhhhhrrrrrrRound thing is called a socket! Kick ass job brotha!
Yesss the new intro and outro work so well
Personally I preferred the first one. In general I prefer gold to silver and especially shiny silver isn't my style
but the first one, with the imperfections and a little more matt is really cool. Gonna try this!
Everytime I'm amazed by how much patience he has (for ex. just looking at the intro/outro wooooow)
Such a dope new intro. I love it🔥😏
Ohhhh I actually really like the duller look on the home tools one. Might. Try to get some spoons from the thrift shop next time I'm there
Yah! It had a cool look to it:) I might take toothpaste to some of my really shiny ones to see if it gives it that texture
