I do have a photo for the grass blind from a long time ago I’ll try to email it to you. The bottom of the legs had rubber feet that wedged into the floor ribs in the front and against the side wall in the rear. No special attachment point.
That is a really nice set up!!! Good job ! Question for you: i am about to pull the trigger on that exact boat and the same kind of longtail how fast is the rig with a buddy and decoy etc..?
With this exact setup you see plus 2 hunters in winter gear, 8 geese decoys, guns and blind bags, 8 sheets of blind grass and 36 ducks we were getting about 17-18 MPH which i felt was respectable for the long tails light power. You put an extra hunter in there your looking at about 6-7 MPH plus your now really over weight. I know from experience but those hunters were very big boys; probably over 250 each plus me at 160. We did the math and put over 1200lbs in the boat which is extremely dangerous and I wouldn't recommend or do ever again; we were novice then. Everything turned out okay luckily but we did get wash over the back but not enough the tune on the bilge. If you put three people that were about 160-180 you could probably do three people and a hunt load out. You can do three people easy without a hunt load for fishing and such. Happy boating!
I would suggest if your gonna always reconnect the battery, you leave both leads off, then connect the red, then connect the black. No sparks near the fuel tank.
m t I mean if you’re afraid off a little fire on the water you could do that. LOL. That was temporary and a marine cutoff switch was installed on the boat to cut all power to reduce parasitic drain.
@@Craft518 thanks I appreciate the information. I was told the 13 hp doesn't work well on the 1542 by JT Gatoring on RUclips. It does fine for you and 1 other person? I am about 200 pounds my dad is 200 pounds and my 12 year old is like 95 pounds. Do you think it would be ok?
Brandon Conrad with that much weight you are already very close to the max on the boat which is roughly 775. It will struggle to plane out. I didn’t mind the HP on it but he’s not wrong, the 22hp would be nicer
Trevor Noonan those plate were purchased at Walmart. Under the seat part was $15 each and the plate that we added to the boat were $25 each. Sporting goods section
Sorry I didn't see this earlier it was sent to junk mail. The dimensions are all trial and error unfortunately and I don't have it anymore to give you specifics BUT if you search for rock solid blind you can see how to build it easily. I made my own gunwale hinges and used elbows from lowes but you can buy the gear from rock solid if you done want to or can't weld. Basically its three long conduit pieces, two hinges on the gunwale, 6 short conduit pieces and 6 elbows for the initial blind. We added a flip top with another two short pieces, a long piece and two more elbows. They are built all over you tube so you can see what I am talking about. Loved the setup but it is directional and you will always beach the boat on whatever side you decide to face it, port or starboard. Happy hunting.
I have a 2019 1542, when you cut to make those 2 hatches in the back by the transom. Was it foam filled?
Yes it was. Obviously it will effect the floatation if you swamp the boat so at your own risk.
Would you happen to have any pictures of your blind? And what does the bottom of the legs lock into when you set it up?

You've got a great setup , thank you for posting this video.
It was a great rig, sold it a few years ago to some local boys.

looking at a setup really similar when you turn the motor around for travel and have the prop in the boat does it clear the blind fine?
Ryan yes cleared by about 8”
Did you bolt the seat bases with machine screws or toggle bolts? Do they move alot with the thin metal on the benches?
david shea on that boat we used stainless steel screws ad they did wove a touch in the thin metal but nothing crazy. Worked really well
Nice build. I got the same motor on my 12ft v-hull. Looking to getting a bigger jon boat for river fishing. What kind of speeds are you getting?
Can’t say I ever checked but it probably got 20MPH with a light load. It’s was fast enough when I had it.
I want to build the same setup. About how much do you have in the boat with everything?
Brandon Conrad max $3000. 1200 for the boat, $1000 for the motor unless you find a used power plant. The rest within $800

I run 18 vanguard swamp runner no vibration can run 20 up river and 25 down with the same boat use 9 inch prop with 100 inch shaft
What are the plates you used to mount the seats in and where can you purchase them?

I have that same boat and would love to see more on that blind. Where did you get the dimensions?
