I really don't understand people who comment "is this MP compatible" under just about anything. Even if it wasn't impossible - which it is - What exactly do you have in mind? Do you have a friend who will sit in your backseat and who is completely familiar with the Topgun lessons and syllabus, and will coach you professionally through the exercise? Do you have a friend who will fly the F-86, and he's also a qualified instructor, flying it exactly the way the lesson requires? Or you just want a 1v1 with friends, but that's not a training campaign, that's a mission that takes 1 minute to set up. I guess it could be fun to practice with friends AFTER you completed the lesson in the campaign, but you don't need me for that.
You nailed the fringe usage case on the head. I have used Zone 5 in the exact same way, but the amount of things you have to hands off for as the RIO to stop from breaking the mission is exceedingly high. (Immersion will be broken) This is something I only found to be possible through a ton of experimentation. This is the equivalent of turning on co-op code that is buried in a game that doesn't ship with it (Halo Infinite). It could be done, but even if you connect, doing any one of 1000 things will kill it. (Similar to speed running a game, memorizing bugs and exploits to still get to completion via unintended means.) Thank you for your amazing SP campaign contributions they have allowed me to bring the joy of flight to many friends. Sidenote: is that Casmo on Indian Springs tower?
I believe people who want a multiplayer-compatible mission find the concept of a "coop" campaign between pilot and RIO pretty appealing (which it is!). But like you said, I think it's very hard (if not impossible) to implement. For this type of campaign, I don't really see the point of having a mutiplayer-compatible version. However, I do see a huge potential for coop versions of missions that are more "hands free" by design.
@@ChuckOwl I completely understand there is a demand for those kind of campaigns, but as I said in many of my videos, a coop campaign would have to be built as such from the start. It's 2 completely different roads a mission builder can take, and there is no jumping between the two once the mission is built. I do not wish to set foot on that road, as the tools at my disposal (triggers, scripts) are much more limited than in single player, and I couldn't create an experience that's anywhere as immersive as my SP content. This being said, the demand is there, so anyone who feels like it is more than welcome to make such a campaign, I'm sure it will be fun.
Because some people can’t understand why anyone would play single player. Even some content creators like Enigma advocate for DCS to go directions that no one who plays single player wants: in an effort to make shooting stuff more fun (in one case, arguing that ED should stop making high fidelity modules and instead churn our low fi Cold War platforms like “IL-2 Cold War” or something. But if you are someone who just wants IL-2 with modern jets, then you are always pining for multiplayer and lamenting anything that isn’t

The F4 rolls with a spoiler going up on one side and the aileron going down on the other, however at low speeds, the aileron causes more drag than the spoiler, effectively causing you to roll the other way but slowly, this effect is called adverse roll, using the rudder prevents this effect.
