It's my headcanon anyway.
I really loved Cass and I regret this wasn't actually in the game. I wonder if there's a mod that adds this as a feature? Nothing would have been cooler than having THE KING deliver you into holy matrimony.
It also fits the stereotypical trope of people getting drunk married in Vegas, so it wouldn't even seem out of place.

Worse part about it is that she's an Unarmed build. She has no choice but to walk into enemies and eat an Incinerator to the face.
Veronica's scream genuinely sounds as if she is on fire. That was incredible voice acting.
Imagine her screaming like that, but you bring up the companion wheel and she just says "What's up?" You exit, she says "Until next time", and then the screaming starts again.
Cass's scream sounds like she burnt her hand on the stove compared to everyone else.

If you notice, Arcade starts choking because he’s inhaling his burning skin, if that isn’t attention to detail idk what is..
Also, Boone and Raul are my beloved companions, so hearing them scream in agony made me feel kinda sick.

Aw, man. Would have loved to get my Courier married to Cass. Reminds me a bit of Fallout 2, where the farmer in Modoc forces you (with a shotgun) to marry his daughter/son. Except here, the spouse would be infinitely much more useful in a fight, compared to those two. xD
What also would've been awesome is if cass called you "honey" or "dear" after you married her

Veronicas VA needs a fucking award. I felt very sad after hearing the crying part of her screams.
I’m glad they cut the on fire lines since they were terrifying. though with Joshua “I survived because the fire insided burned brighter than the fire around me”graham those line should have been either the most nightmare inducing crap, or the most badass lines in gaming history.
I think it wa sbad to cut it it. The Game needed more terrifying moments like those if they get set on fire for example.

Basically from what I gathered about the development of New Vegas is that "Console Limitations" is the major thing that set the game back.
Makes me wish we could get a new chance.
I think it wouldn't be the same, the good people that made new vegas are either gone or were moved to other positions
Maybe I’d say engine limitations was equally as bad. Just look at the poor guy who made the drivable car mod.
That and 18 months to finish the game. Still, they did an awesome job.
Bethesada will likely pick it up and will ruin another fallout game if new Vegas was remastered or something along that

Cass and the courier are together in my canon. It make sense with who cass’s father was, and she just seems like she fits well with the courier.
I can see why they cut the screams holy crap imagine having Veronica with you and all of a sudden she gets set on fire by accident and all of a sudden you hear her blood-curdling screams that is terrifying.

@@GameBang666 As someone who has a restored content mod that has these lines as part of it I can safely say few, thankfully. Fire Ants/Geckos, Mr. Handy/Gutsy robots, and just a few rare Raiders. It certainly gives me an incentive to finish my fights fast or engage those enemies differently, hearing Veronica scream like that is quite disturbing.

11:25 That made me lol. It's always weird to be travelling around with a member of a certain faction and those in the same faction barely acknowledge them. Like Arcade is allowed inside the Lucky 38, you would think then they'd ask for you AND his help.
A human companion makes the game easier? And I'm here, risking my life cause Cass wants to wrastle a Deathclaw instead of using stealth.
If not on Hardcore mode, they can't die.
Except when they can because this game is glitchy as fuck.
Tbh it makes sense they cut those screams, it would be confusing to see your companions have no reaction to getting shot with an anti-materiel rifle but lose their absolute shit when hit by 28 HP by the incinerator
Those screams are horrifying, just imagine going in with a companion and than one of them starts screaming like that, glad they cut them.

Imagine trying to use the flare gun from Lonesome Road around them with those screams. I'd be just about crawling out of my skin.
I had the cut content mod on my current game of new vegas. I was going after cook cook with Veronica and heard her blood curdling scream. I assumed it was just another fiend because cook cook was crazy since I killed his Brahmin, but then I saw Veronica engulfed in flame and my heart skipped a beat. I emptied my stimpacks just to get her healthy again.
The only companion who doesn’t get mowed down on hardcore for me was Veronica. She just pops peoples heads off like nothing it’s amazing.

I imagine the cuting room floor like a table with a large bucher knife where they keep cuting chunks of the hole game and they have like an entre pile of it
sometimes the fat makes the meat taste better. From what Ive heard from this channel so far theres a bit of gristle, some fat and a fuck ton of fine marbled meat on that floor
Hearing Boone scream in agony was a shock to say the least. And Veronica made me want to call a priest.
I feel like playing with multiple companions on hardcore mod and hard difficulty really balances things out lol. But just imagine if they didn’t cut those on fire screams and you have a group with you, my god it would sound like you where walking into hell.
Cass doesn't sound like she's being lit on fire.
This is without a doubt one of the games that needs to be remastered! I would love to see Obsidian adding in all the content they cut, the ideas they wanted, with much needed improved graphics and game play.
that lighting on fire thing reminds me of how fucking loud companions scream in outer worlds when they get set on fire or effect by a status effect.

I have a mod that restores a lot of content and the screams are part of it, I specifically get Veronica to hang back while I snipe any flame wielding enemies. Luckily they are very rare, it just makes me feel bad more than anything letting her get burned. Wish it didn't happen in power armor though, doesn't make much sense.

Despite how absolutely horrifying those lines were, they should have kept it in.
It would've been pretty awesome to have characters scream in horrid desperation while being engulfed in flames, disintegrated by laser weapons, or dissolved by plasma guns.
It would undoubtedly also be absolute nightmare-fuel.

In Outer Worlds, they got their "companions shriek bloody murder when on fire/taking elemental damage" tech down, so that's uh. Yup. They also got the "companion interjections into dialogue" and "companions comment on your actions" things in there. Plus they got to make the exact same companion over again in Ellie as Outer Worlds' Cass. :/

When you started talking about companion romance I was kind of glad they cut it because usually that's lame in games but then they described how it was going to work and now I really wish it was still there
Yeah, but I'm with Avellone on this one. Romances almost never work in RPGs, and it won't work on Fallout. They tried a romance option with 4, but it basically just boiled down to annoying dialogue trees, forced flirting lines, and more chores to do overall.
Leave the dating mechanics to those animu visual novels and let Fallout be Fallout. Cass waifu is temporary, Dogmeat, R-EX, and ED-E good boys are forever.

I never knew about those cut Cass lines where she refers to the Kings as "kid". That definitely reinforces my theory about her character originally being much older than she appears in the actual final game.

3:56 I hate to say it, but Boone's VA almost completely reverted to sounding like Myron. 🤭 Otherwise, he did a great job at making me feel horrified. All the VA's did. Except for Cass's.
It really does. They tried to make it work, but scripting Rex's behavior turned out to be pretty difficult. To my knowledge, there still isn't a mod on Nexus that restores it sadly. It's one of favorite instances of cut content m
Rex always attacks rats for me. Even when the rats are peaceful, I tried this out in the New Vegas Sewers.
@@monkeyton5 I didn't say Rex doesn't attack the rats. I said Rex doesn't do anything interesting when he does. There's no difference in the way Rex attacks. There's no special message like with what happens with Lily, for example.

The companion interjection in conversations made it into fallout 4, cause back then the engine was very limited glad it made it into fallout 4.
The on fire screaming dialogue being cut was probably a good idea. Lots of things can set a companion on fire and you'd probably hear it way more than you'd like. The other day I was going through a Vault 34 with a flamer and kept setting Lily on fire.

I wish they had added romance for companions. Stuff like that, though trivial, is quite fun and players like doing it. Like Bittercup in Fallout 3 would be a complete no name character, but since she can become your girlfriend of sorts in game, she's remembered. And Fallout 4 showed that companion romance doesn't need to be complicated. Just a few new lines, and them referring to the player in a different way and it feels real.

I assume that since Rex used to be Caesar's own dog until he was lost in the first battle of Hoover Dam, there would have been an option to return him to Caesar personally but it was cut.
I play with a mod that re-adds the companion screams, but I didn't know about them initially. Veronica got separated from me and attacked by a fire ant, and I've never jumped so hard in my life. I almost ran downstairs thinking it was my mom. That shit is terrifying

There was a glitch to get every companion. It never crashed for me on Xbox 360 after using all companions together.

@@TriangleCity nope, never had any noticeable frame rate issues on the 360. W or w-out the companions. 360 was super stable, except a few crashes when loading the strip
Kris Tucker same, when using all the companions together I only had issues in the outer Vegas ruins. Never anywhere else. And even then it was only the road going into and west of Vegas.
When the companions started screaming I got a deja vu from Marcus fénix from gears of war when he is kill by fire

Companions are probably my second favorite part of this entire game. Raul is probably my favorite in PC in any game ever. Just because of his sarcastic attitude towards situations. And how whenever he starts fighting a ghoul he'll tell the ghoul to fight your character instead it's hilarious to me how much they put into that character. I just hate that as side mission is so glitchy and how if you accidentally kill one character or if you do it on purpose you can't complete his mission you have to meet three different characters that are old and still useful to the world to show that rule can still be useful as well. I think there should have been for these NPC's so that way if you accidentally kill one you still have another one to go to. But that's just me. Great video. And those on fire sounds are fucking terrifying dude but I would have loved to hear them in the game dude. Especially if it wasn't hardcore mode. edit. I would hundred percent wish I could have married some of the companions in the game. Definitely my female playthrough would always marry Raul.
