    i switched from a Samsung Active 2 to a tactix 7x . I was unshure about it before because i already had refundet a Enduro watch from Garmin. Because that one looked to clunky and also i didnt realise it did not have a touch screen.
    I am so amazed by how good the Tactix watch is. It is perfect for all sports i do. It works for traking my hikes on every mountain and in every forest. It is nearly as accurate in traking distance as a Garmin 66 Navigation system. It is comfortable and the batterie lives for ever.
    I always forgot to wear my Active 2 because i was to lazy to charge it every other day. But now i leggit charge my Tactix twice a month and i am good to go.
    Even the sleep tracing is perfect. I am a volunteer firefighter and in the morning i can see exactly when i was awake and when i fell back asleep after an alarm. It even worsenes the sleepscore of such nights.
    It realy looks amazing and the included LED lamp is more usefull than i initialy thought.
    9/10 would buy again. I cut off one points for the extreme price. Could be a little lower.

    This is the most advanced review that I've seen on any Garmin watch let alone the Tactix. How can you not subscribe to this man. Thank you for the review!! I find that the solar is kind of a gimmick... unless you are a extreme outdoorsman.. the fact that you'd have to put the watch in direct sunlight and at the same time frying your nylon band as well as your silicone in the process of charging it is counterintuitive if it's not a life and death situation. I had the Tactix solar but I took it back and got the Tactix Sapphire.
    I absolutely love the way you do your unboxings.. the audio is so crisp and pure!!

    Great review!
    I have the Tactix Delta Saphire. In my opinion, the solar is a bit of a gimmick for this watch. As you indicated it doesn’t charge but extends the charge of the battery only in its lowest modes and only marginally. Better to carry a power pack if your gonna be on an extended excursion. Don’t worry about kicking up the DLC coated bezel. It’s a military watch and gives it character! Great Watch!

    • @PascalMarquisUnbox
      @PascalMarquisUnbox  2 года назад +4

      Ahah!! Thank you for your comment. What I mean is that yes in GPS mode it will only make the battery last longuer. But what I tested is that in low power mode it was able to actually charge the battery. I gain in percentage. But my watch in never in low power mode so... But I still think it's a great thing to have solar power has the watch will last longuer on sunny days. But still, for a long run, I would have a power brick with me.

    • @alexbedini731
      @alexbedini731 2 года назад +2

      @jrbarilla Just ask yourself in a post apocalyptic world what would you need the most solar charging, email/sms/push notifications, hearing to music or responding to text messages I guess we all agree the first feature is the most useful one..... Also caring a power bank still requires you to remove the watch from your wrist to charge it while on the other hand to charge it via solar energy you just need to switch it to low power mode until it regains some energy!! So yes Solar is very useful and not at all a gimmick !!!!

    it is actually fibre reinforced plastic. Similar to g shocks technology 'carbon core guard' Basically they put fibres within the plastic to help the plastic resist fracture. It works quite well, not sure what type of fibres they use, be they carbon, glass, or something else.

    What about time drift? For example, is it a quartz watch that will drift several seconds per week (or month)? How do you resync it to keep it accurate? For example, my GShock needs to be paired to my phone, via the GShock app, to keep the time in synch. Also, what about the USB connection at the back? For example, what about corrosion resistance of the pins, etc? Thanks in advance.

    My Tactic Delta bezel, which I have worn since May 2020, done some significant backyard work and never take the watch off, has a lot of wear on the bezel. Me personally, I like it and gives it character. Also, I wouldn't leave it laying in the sun to charge. Heat kills the overall health of the battery. Just wondering before I purchase has anyone actually tested this watch to its fullest. Is it mud and dust proof and how deep has someone dived with it for long periods of time. I'm only asking because some of my job requirements need certain functions of the watch to be spot on so to speak.

      I never took it to the mud yet. I only swim with it few time. I never actually dive. I took in in the spa, no problem. The thing is actually rated for 100m under water. I don't know about dust but when a watch is rated for 100m deep, I would worry about anything. The watch is also think for military use. Hi Peter. The Tactix Delta is still amazing. Just not a great choice just right to buy right now as the new Fenix 7 is cheaper and better in many points. Great review… tons of good information. I just picked up the Tactix 7 Pro yesterday and love it! I had the Garmin EPIX sapphire for 6 days prior and although the AMOLED screen on that watch is amazing and better than Garmin’s MIP displays in almost every way, I still decided to opt for the Tactix 7 Pro in the end.
    So why did I choose the Tactix 7 over the EPIX and FENIX 7XSS? 1. I like the look and feel offered by the larger 51mm watch face and prefer the overall design of the Tactix bezel and buttons over the EPIX/FINIX, it’s just a nicer look and feel imo. 2. I was attracted by the extended battery offered by the larger 51mm case size and the ability to reduce battery drain with solar, especially useful for an upcoming trip where I’ll be camping in Italy’s Dolomite Alps with no access to mains electricity or traditional facilities. 4. Some of the other features such as the built in light, public land boundaries maps as well as hunting activity modes may prove useful.

      @@PascalMarquisUnbox but I'd argue that Garmin is a sports electronics brand. Not a watch brand. And definitely not a luxury watch brand. The fact that this specific electronic device is in a watch form does not make it in any way comparable to a Rolex or even a Swatch.
      In fact luxury watch brands only make watches or jewelry (imagine Patek Philippe making a handheld GPS device) and they are focused in luxurious materials and mechanical perfection. While Garmin materials are OK but not luxurious, and their focus is electronics, software and functionality, and electronics normally means China. So Suunto might be the exception, not the rule.
      Also, I just bought a Fenix 6 pro sapphire and I considered Suunto. The build quality in the Suunto felt definitely better, but that's useless if the software is not great so I bought the Garmin. When you say I'm wrong on a point in a video that last over an hour, please mark the time frame of my statement.
      I never told that you never need to charge the watch. Of course the battery empty. It got a beautiful huge screen and full mapping. I actually did test it with a spot light on economy mode and yes it did charge. But no on regular use it wont charge the watch. Only extend the battery life. I base what I say im my video from what I personally tested and not from what I heard on internet.

    Garmin solar sucks compared to gshock solar.

      You can't really compare a Tactix with a gshock. The tactix need a lot more processor power to run all of the mapping on it's beautifull big screen.
      If you want to compare a Gshock wih a Garmin Watch, do it with the Instinct Solar.

      @@PascalMarquisUnbox i got instinct solar tho with disable all features including bluetooth and compare the charging rate with my rangeman its totally sucks. You can't use instinct solar if you rely only in solar charging.

      I never tested the Solar model. But G-Shock is on my radar to test. But I don't think I will love it because of it's lack of mapping and routing.

    You're wrong. Fenix 7 can do the same as well.
