Maximillian Dood made a playthrough of this using Cyber Akuma about a month ago I think for his Akuma retrospective thingy. Of course, this reminds me of the Z-Akuma from Cyberbots.
I miss this game so bad.. his theme was the reason i kept playing back in the days.. me when i was suppose to buy tortillas but wasted the change in the arcades 😅😅
the psx version has a feature that the arcade does not have: you can "chain" the supers in the style of Street Fighter EX. Too bad you didn't do it once in the video :(
Cool video!! The PS1 version is actually not that bad of a game by the way, unsufficient ram memory is all that held the PS1 back for most of the cps2 arcade conversions....lol
As someone who only played the playstation version, I never understood why fighting cyber akuma was so hard. I would always get close and then die. Come to find out they DIDN'T implement tag team in later games, they just cut it with the ps1. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH EASIER THE GAME WOULD'VE BEEN WITH 2 CHARACTERS!?

I just bought up all the old ps1 and ps2 versions of all these and marvel vs Capcom snk etc etc as ps4 eil have. backwards capabilities so ul be able to play these on there

First, complete Battle mode on any difficulty. Then go into Battle, Versus or Training mode, and on the character select screen, highlight Akuma, and then press the [SELECT] button 5 times, and then press any attack button to select Cyber-Akuma.
@@jesusf.2600 I think it depends on the games' regions... but the main trick is finishin arcade mode without using continue.. and then when you start again, step over Akuma, hit Selec 5 times... and then any button to selec the character... I haven't played this game in the original console for almos 15 years... so, I can't remember if the "no continue" turns off once you reach the final level or not

Mostly for the tag team games though. PS1 Alpha 2 Gold is a pretty damn good port
Except maybe for Alpha 3 where every console port had more stuff than the arcade release like characters and extra modes and everything

I literally could only beat it with Spider-Man who was my main on PS1. Now I know why he was so tough.
