Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is an upcoming American animated television series created by Jeff Trammell for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. It is intended to be the 12th television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) from Marvel Studios and is produced by Marvel Studios Animation. Trammell serves as head writer with Mel Zwyer as supervising director.

The show did a good job making you care about Lincoln, and his eventual villain turn hits harder.
I love that one of Peter's friends actually know that's he's Spiderman!
One of the biggest source of Spiderman's misfortune is balancing out his secret identity and his civilian identity. That's true for most heroes but in a lot of those cases they have at least one person who knows who they are and who can back them up and share the burden. I've been saying for years that Spiderman in the comics needs to start telling all his family and friends the truth, its the only way he'll be somewhat happy.
The way they're building up Lonnie Lincoln's story in tandem with Spider-Man's story is absolutely genius. Getting to see the downfall and tragedy of Lonnie Lincoln while seeing the rise of Peter Parker as he becomes his own self-assured Spider-Man, even though Norman Osborn is currently trying to hijack his superhero mission, is going to make it incredibly emotional and cathartic when the show eventually forces these two characters to clash. Especially since the show has been doing an excellent job endearing us to both of these characters and taking the time to build up and add depth to their relationships. Nico was excellent in these episodes as always, plus seeing how Pearl truly does love Lonnie, it's going to make the climax to their stories for this season incredibly captivating when we get to it. It was also just great to see the other cool Spider-Man stuff like his alternative suits and even Otto Octavius showing up as a weapons manufacturer for villains, just great stuff all around. One last thing I would love to compliment the show on is how they're kind of taking advantage of this alternate MCU timeline and bringing in all the stuff like the Accords and the events of Captain: America Civil War and having the world react to it like how Norman Osborne is now taking into account how the government might not try to go after Spider-Man so he'll do everything in his power as a billionaire to protect Peter, also Nico debating with herself whether she actually agrees with Steve or Tony on where they stand with the Accords felt really like an argument someone in that Marvel Universe would have with other people. The way fans still debate to this day whether Tony or Steve were right, people in Universe certainly still have these conversations. Incredible 3 episodes all around, and I can tell the next three are going to be even better. I love this show so much so far, and I can't wait to see more!!! 10/10!

YES!! PLEASE keep doing the episodes separately!!
This show is really good at giving us the familiar we love but not letting it be predictable.
Yeah, this is exactly what the showrunner+head writerJeff Trammell wanted for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, & he totally knocked it out of the park here!
Hey Coy! loved the episodes! i feel like the series is a worthy "continuation" of the spirit of the spectacular spider man in terms of how the show handles the characters and the story. Doc Ock is my favorite spider-man villain and i feel like this episode did justice to the character without them even showing the tentacles. Can't wait for what is to come next week!
The amount they are giving Lonnie is great imo. This show has so many great things going for it. I think i agree with wanting 1 episode a week would work better for me.
Something that I think is really cool is the Rogues Gallery. Feels like a good mix of the iconic villains that everyone knows and are always on the cartoons and the more obscure villains that people like me might not know as well. But yeah, that Lonnie arc hits really hard. It’s gonna be crushing when their friendship turns sour
Love YFNS! It is a perfect representation of an alternate universe as it's building off of the MCU canon/iconography as well as the comics themselves, i.e., confirming certain events happened and that these characters exist but showing how that us a freah new dynamic.
I love them essentially having the Team Cap vs Team Iron Man debate that we had in our real world, but also seeing that all these MCU events - Battle of New York, Ultron, Sarkovia and then getting what a classic Spiderman villain's, Osborne, take on it - which definitely could set up him breaking bad as he and Peter might have a fundamental disagreement about what it means to be a hero.
I really hope that post Secret Wars they find a way of blending the two universes 🙏
I was worried I wasn’t gonna like this show but I’m really digging it!
Love this multiple episode format!! Each one definitely needs their own time to shine in the zeitgeist
The Parker Luck. Could be + & - that balance is the center for Pete and his connected web of friends and villains
But to explore more of everyone involved, the 110, and the Scorpions. There is a balance of power, only one can rule this space
So many moving parts, but also that force of gravity. Eventually everyone collides
Definitely like these episodes having their own breakdown! Love your insights!
Love these discussions per episode 🤙
This show is fantastic! They’ve introduced so many characters and plot points with it feeling rushed!
Dropping a comment for the algorithm to support Coy doing videos for each episode.
Saw on the live that these vids weren’t doing well. Came back for a rewatch. This show is akin to the ultimate or absolute runs happening now. Allowing consumers to be reintroduced to new audiences with some tweaks has been a great start to this year in comics/comic media. I can see why they renewed the show already.
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪♥️ really great episodes we got so far
I’m so impressed with how the mentorship and rise of Peter as Spider-Man is juxtaposed with Lonnie and his mentorship and becoming Tombstone.
I do think Norman will go bad and Peter will escape and leave that situation of power and influence which will juxtapose Lonnie not wanting to leave and fully becoming Tombstone
Please more!
This is the episode I like the most. The juxtaposition of Lonnies and Peters journey is fascinating. Also liked that they have different comic book Characters who at different points had the mantle of Scorpion are part of the Scorpion gang. I am really not sure what direction are they taking Nico.
I am really enjoying your take on the show. Didn't realize that you have read almost all Spider-Man comics. That is impressive.
I’m loving your reviews. Didn’t catch a lot of the Spider-Man characters that you pointed out
Loving the show so far! 10/10
I initially thought Lonnie was gonna be my least favorite and the least interesting character in the show after the first 2 episodes, I never thought they would actually make him Tombstone but I am glad they are because it makes him compelling. 😊
I like how this show subverts expectation. For me, as a Spider-Man fan, I keep waiting for a shoe to drop, and I don’t know which one will fall first among the people he’s surrounded by that cascades into conflict for Peter’s life.
Naturally, I’m used to Peter’s life going one way (badly), and there are so many characters on the line.
I really enjoyed these batch of episodes. The first two got my attention. However these episodes peaked my curiosity and now I might be hooked to the show.
REALLY enjoying this show. And your single episode coverage. Thanks, Coy! THWIP!
What are the 23 you still need?!?!?
I dont know Lonnie Lincoln very well. Im nit huge into the comics. But this show does manage to do a rendition of spideramn that feels fully authentic yet with very unique and original turns. I really began to love it with this episode that is building a very complete and unique take on Tombstone. So exciting to get a fresh take on a charcter i dont know well.
There is a dynamic set a bit before Lonnie is a villain. But never set back when they were teenagers. This series is taking a different page with their relationship
Lonnie is breaking my heart...
I hope you stick to the different discussions per episodes, I like it better that way
I still have the feeling that Osborn will become the green goblin and kill aunt May just like in the MCU.
This show is slowly reaching X-men 97 territory especially in terms of storytelling
Have you seen the Avengers earth's mightiest heroes show it's only 2 seasons

Gangs though, they don’t treat you like trash. You’re family. Gangs aren’t “bad” to you. They treat you well if you’re in them. I know people who have been in gangs. Also, I was kinda annoyed by Lonnie kinda giving attitude to the gang. Like, dude, these people are dangerous and you put yourself at their service.
Did you catch Nico’s last name ? O hara ? She might be related to Miguel
Nico Minoru - from Runaways
Her foster mom's last name is O'Hara. Nico is still Nico Minoru, as she said in the very first episode.
please stick to individual vids! i think its okay that its releasing in batches but I still think online discussion should be broken up.
enjoying the coverage!
Isn’t Nico a lesbian? She jokes in the first or second episode that she likes Pearl too
I thought she was more bisexual, at least, that’s my vibe
