fun podcast thanks for posting these. I agree with the light tackle being better for most things. I like using my ultra light set up for rock fish in PNW, i just have it loaded with 20lb braid since its very very rocky and sharp bottoms here or heavy kelp, it really helps on the break offs whereas a 10lb will almost always break off in my experience right when ya get the fish to the sharpest kelpiest rocks at the jetty you're standing on. i like for most other deep rocky spots here that require a 50 yard plus cast sometimes, a long spinning rod and a 3000 or 4000 reel and 20-30lb line depending on the swell and the specific spot. i wish we had the nice water out here like yall but hey it makes it kinda fun i guess but for lures, i literally only use a gold and silver spoon from 1/4oz to 1oz, and walmart/ ebay paddle tail shads. works so so well out here on all species, size and color dont really matter as much as conditions and spot
Hmmmm I’m thinking about joining that club today in hopes you save me costly mistakes on tackle and hopefully good advice on fishing during my Florida vacations yearly 🙏
Joe dropped a f-bomb. I had to do a play back (about 36 minutes in). Joe, you are one funny....... I'm stuck in NH while my house is being build in Port Charlotte. Can't wait to join the club.
This was an overall great video, especially for me. I consider myself an expert in my area. I never thought of going so minimal on the yak/shore, always thinking I need a lot of lures, not hooks/jigheads. I'm going to try that method next time out. Thanks fellas!!!
When I go wading. I typically pick a few different lures. Paddle tails or whatever. Hook them to the brim of my hat. A thing of leader line and a pair of pliers in my pocket and thats it.
Well done boys. Only shout I’d say is that you should split the freshwater and bluewater stuff. Plenty of great chat but and a huge range of expertise & ideas. 🤙🏼
Great info on the video. I love to listen to you guys and the team. keep that info coming. I have another question about the FG knot. when I make it, at the end when I finish it with the half hitch, the knot does not go thru the eye when you cast. It catches. Is that supposed to do that?
On the topic of knots 🪢 People that say, they never had their knot fail, have either A: never caught a fish 🐠 Or B: never caught a fish big enough to test the limits of their tackle.
I’m getting ready to move to Gulf Shores, AL and don’t have a boat. I’ll be surf or pier fishing. How will joining the club help me? I do have saltwater experience as I lived in Galveston for 8 years. Oh, and BTW, I’m on a retiree’s budget.
@drkrm I am also retired and "ain't got no boat"! From the weedless shrimp hack to the loop knot and line and tackle it has been a benefit to me here in So. FL. Good luck on your move!

Whats the name of the podcast?
Spending lots of money on things you will never use is half the fun
Thanks for the feedback! No one said fishing was an inexpensive hobby :)
Flowbee sucks... and cuts. it sounded like a hair grinder.
