I enjoyed watching this. I miss working on cars. You having fun with all those tools and techniques. I am 50yo and worked in IT for past 25+ years. I missed the normal work instead of this abstract work. I came to see the $300+ charge for replacing this on my car.
Thank you for watching and commenting and don't forget to subscribe
Great video well done. Good clear voice and close up with the camera. No stupid music going in the back ground. I just had my 06 Honda Ridgeline done.
Arthur Smith thanks
"I'm not gonna use a torch for you DIY guys," then proceeds to use a lift and numerous pneumatic tools.....
Lennon Morales hahahaaa .. u dont need a lift to go underneath a vehicle..and the pneumatic tools arent necessary as well, although alot of diy guys do have air tools..thanks for watching and commenting
Lifts aren't terribly expensive, it's having foundation that make the means
True, but it added to the humor!

Lennon Morales haha yeah as soon as he says yeah I’m going to use this air hammer, I’m like yeah I don’t have that
when buying ur bolts at hd, or wherever, make sure to get stainless hardware to keep the rust at bay.
You provide such great material to your viewers. I appreciate all of your hard work. I truly appreciate it!

This goes by so well when you have the right tools
yep! try doing that lying on ur back with the car wedged right over ur face and armed with nothing but a ratchet, vicegrips and a hacksaw! oh , AND LOTS OF PENETRATING OIL!
one of the best detail video in a while
Thank you!!
Good job bud. I have all the same tools as you except that beautiful LIFT! I'd never leave the garage if I had a lift like that!

This is your 2nd video that saved me big $$ on my Focus. Thanks--keep it up! One thing I wanna point out is that that flex pipe is for the 2.3L Focus PZEV engine, which makes sense since you're in NY (a PZEV state). The 2.0L Zetec was the most popular engine and is what most 01-04 Focus owners watching this video probably have. The pipe for that engine is the Walker 52243
1975augusto kool!
must be nice having all that space to work
Thanks - replaced my flex y pipe on my Enclave… very similar and wasn’t too bad ($200 no torch and 3 hours)

You made short work of that! Loved the humor!!! Too many damn people trying to convince others to be PC in this crazy freakin world. Think and say what want, but leave others the F alone! Btw, and you seem like a smart dude and may already know this, but for those that don't, Kroil is great for cleaning gun barrels as well. Cheers

Hi Klowny1969, could you recommend andy video's on air tools please, I picked up an impact wrench here in UK 2nd hand no instructions, it has settings one to 4, I am unsure how to determine what settings to use as scared of breaking bolts, also do you set the compressor at say 90psi before you press the trigger on the tool or does it need to be say 90 psi when using it, also as I see how hold spanners on the other end while using air tools is this ok when using certain settings as scared of breaking my arm, excuse my ignorance but I would like to learn, many Thanks Ian
sandydogy i keep everything maxed out..150 psi on compressor and highest setting on gun..ignore the recommended 90 psi, u would never take anything off...snd only use impact tools when taking bolts off..not putting them back on, unless u know what ur doing
klowny1969 thanks
On that second flange since it's an actual nut and bolt you could tighten instead of loosen and just snap it and replace nut and bolt. It's sometimes easier to do that instead of trying to get it loose. I have done this and it works. I wouldn't do that with studs of course, but if it can be replaced, why not?
Thanks for the advice! Don't forget to subscribe
diy says the octopus with a full toolbelt.
I'm glad your socket didn't break
Carlos Antonio Lopez Chavez say what?
I knew it was a ford focus the second I saw the wheels
Lol yup!
I bought a aftermarket header tht came with a new flex pipe. now the car makes a ticking noise. don't see any leaks anywhere but I heard the flex pipe that comes with headers is junk. can a ticking noise come thru a cheap flex pipe

off topic a bit but is it okay to spray the engine with degreaser then rinse it off without damaging anything? Sorry if it's a dumb question.
Kevi O u can just becareful u dont get any of the wiring wet
homeboy your fucking entertaining, i need more videos from you!

I can always tell when a guy knows what he's doing. Looks like you know all the little tricks. If you wouldn't have hit the bolts with the pneumatic chisel it most likely would have broken the bolts off when you removed them. Great job.

Any way to do maintenance to that part, like spray wd40 or other thing?
Nope
Kinda like the sex scene from the Watchmen and Dr. Manhattan where suddenly there are more than two hands doing the 'job'. Thought you were by yourself until then. :-)

Will a bad flex pipe make a loud noise only when u start the car and accelerate that's what my exhaust is doing.
it could be numerous other things as well..you need to identify where the noise is coming from..dont forget to subscribe
I got a nice beefy air hammer!!!
on the vid your part has complete ends included instead of just the flexi , do u sell exactly what you show at 4.57? thanks
karl mah take a look at rockauto.com
thanks , i thought the adverts under your video were from your company , shame you are across the water, great vid , all the best
karl mah yup not mine..thanks for watching
Was that flex pipe and flanges welded by you or was it a one piece bought at the local autozone
One piece..I mentioned in the video the part number I think
I'm here cause I have a 2009 HHR that just rolled 100k a month ago and low n behold the engine light came on for 3 days. Then went off as soon as I borrowed a friends code reader. It still came up with a code even without the engine light on. The code $7E8:engine and $7EA. I've looked all over the web and came up with "Hot oxygen sensor" and cracked flex exhaust pipe.
Does this sound right to you or anyone in comments?
Will replacing the flex section like you did here reset the engine warning light?
Just looking into it before going to a shop and hearing what they think and will charge.
Thanks for your time and cool video.
idk but if your car sound louder than usual when you start it and it makes lot of noise when you drive then you need a flex pipe . run you about 180-350
"my favorite personal lubricant" hahahahaha
stopherrr yeah babyy
tap the bitch like she owes me money

I was looking at impact sockets at Lowes a few years ago. Guy there talked me into going cheap becuase they have a lifetime warranty. So I did.....lol.
Why not use springs at the bolts?
no need for springs

Clown-Thanks for the vid. Doing some research as my sons car just failed inspection. Exhaust "loose, leaking joints". An 04 Camry, and I've no lift. Will 1200 degree RTV applied suffice? You feel Home Depot's bolts to be high enough quality? How does a newb know? Thanks
Spencer Field i would just readjust everything and clamp it down..home depot bolts are good

sorry but please explain to me when a car uses a downpipe and a frontpipe at the sametime? we got one pipe that connects to the exhaust manifold and one that connects directly into a tubro how do you have btoh😂

Damn sly Stallone's a mechanic?
Yo Adrian
the only thing this video tought me is that i need a fucking air hammer asap
How much does a repair like this cost? I ran over a dip kinda hard and now I think I dented/broke mine.
depends if they change just the flex pipe or the whole pipe itself with the flex..just the flexpipe should be under 100 bux..if the whole pipe needs to be changed..then u could be looking at couple hundred, depending on car
klowny1969
It's a 2008 ford Taurus it was throwing a P420 code the day after I hit the dip and looking under the car the flex pipe looks pretty dented...so I'm hoping that's what it is so I don't have to replace the whole thing.
Who puts a lock washer on the bolt head side?
Louis Cypher why so serious??
