Very well done. I remember Century 3 thriving during my youth, and was there with my parents just about every Saturday night from the late 80s through the 90s. Moonbeam Capital Investments has slowly destroyed the mall ever since they acquired it from Simon.
Green.. The thing that destroyed the mall was the brilliant idea to allow free bus service to the mall. Just what you want, bring in bus loads of people who can't afford bus fare. They will sure spend a lot! No they won't, but I'll tell you what they did.. I was at the mall with my daughter when a young man goes up to her and asks her for $3.00 "Bus fare" to go home.. People don't go to malls where they are going to be shook down for money.. I had people tell me they would not go to the mall at night. Stupidity closed the mall !
This was so very sad to watch. I can remember going there with my mom and my brother and looking over at the food court which was still under construction, thinking what an amazing mall it was! So many memories I had there with my mom, who passed in 1983, and my kids....and now.. those memories will all be buried one day.
The roads are still open, but there are a lot of potholes & they don't maintain the road. So they just close that stretch of road when it snows or freezes, to prevent accidents.
Neat! I was just there before Thanksgiving, that road was filled with pot holes, but busy as hell! Didn’t know it was closed since then. Take a deep breath in those rear hallways though, in a mall that dead, no ones looking for you. Oh, and those doors don’t generally have alarms on them, I deliver to several malls around Pittsburgh and I’ve left out of similar doors multiple times to use the restroom/look around/or just because the business took to long to answer. Is the comic book store still there by chance? I remember them, JCPennys, and a couple vape shops and nail salons. It’s a real shame to see that place in such bad shape.

@@cpexplores5483 Originally, I'm from Pgh, but left in 74 and joined the Marines. I did visit Century III when home on leave in the 80s and 90s and remember how busy it was. The Christmas decorations and the Christmas shows they put on were fantastic. Some of the other dead mall videos shows the rapid deterioration to the structure which will possibly condemn it from pedestrian traffic as well. Thanks again and I look forward to your videos. I’ve been in all the back hallways behind all the stores. Did you find #6 service elevator? There’s no security guard anymore. Fun walking into all those doors that say don’t not trespass I have a video I posted last week from being in there.

They since have reopened the roads, but I’m sure they’ll close them when it snows again. The size of the potholes on that road are big enough to swallow your car. It’s really bad. G Bro “just looking for the bathroom”. lol. That mall is now closed. Can’t get in at all. The only way to see in is to go into jc penny’s and look through the plastic door. The rest of the doors have been boarded up.

From what I'm hearing they got a grant to fix the heating and sprinkler systems.i know that the comic books store is still there
That was great! The closed roads is a bad indication that Century III is coming to a bad end in the near future.
