I didn't want to mod my 16 EBM because well.. I want to trade it in.. Lol. But while I'm stuck with it, it would be nice if it didn't heat soak like crazy everytime I want to have a little fun. I'm considering either the street MAP or the SR Performance intercooler.
Almost all videos you watch about ecoboost builds mentions something similar about the stock Intercooler. They're OK for a regular easy going driver, but JUST ok. Intercooler is definitely on my list for when I get mine 👌
none but i do see it give my radiator issues on stock map.. im wondering if the height of the race is blocking airflow into the radiator on the stock tune but that can be corrected anyways on a tune
@@SamSabinwas it for sure the intercooler causing the radiator problems? I want to get a better one than stock ford intercooler but not a if it causes other issues.
My question is - voids warranty? I don't see why the street FMIC would void a warranty especially under the Magnuson-Moss Act. (much like an intake filter/system or catback exhaust) But I do question if it is commonly voided because I do want one in addition to the performance pack and tune provided by Ford to keep my warranty for the time being.
I have the precision NXT turbo on a 2015 EcoBoost mishimoto intercooler s&r cold air intake 3-in garage line dump dual compact blow off valve and I put 373 gears in the rear I gap8cyld... Go to this old mustang RUclips this old mustang look for the yellow jacket jacket
We recommend you use the street intercooler for a stock car. The race version, on stock, will cause a delay in spool from too much air volume. The race version is really only for cars with upgraded turbos, etc.
@@maperformance I was just going to ask if it would be better to run race intercooler VS street even if you dont race.. Mainly for daily use. I already have the street intercooler but I saw someone selling the race intercooler at half price. So I was thinking if I should upgrade or is it pointless
The MAPerformance EBM Street Intercooler is mounted using the spacer you mentioned, our Race Version does not include any spacers. So no, there is not a version of our MAP EBM street intercooler that did not come with spacers. If you received a kit with out them please contact us so we can get you taken care of - sales@maperformance.com
+Stuka87 The street intercooler can be installed either way. We have an install video for it on our channel! It has also been revised so the install video should be updated pretty soon.
+Stickyjalapeno Our intercooler is taller instead of deeper in ratio, to help with fresh cold airflow, while allowing less turbulence to be used and help the air velocity, and volume to stay high as a turbo at this level would require. End billet endtanks!
I also live in Texas where it's up to 108 in the summer except I will be running a stage 3 kit just not all the same brand or as a package. I will also be running a upgraded waste gate on my stalk turbo . I will however be upgrading my turbo probably next year at this time . Can I go with the race at this time?
MAPerformance oh yes there will be custom tuning due to the waste gate you can't run a ots stage 3 tune . Do you think it will still affect my spooling time ?
Hi Adam, I have a 2015 EBPP with basics mods. CAI, 65TB, CobbT, ResDelete. It’s a DD, so looking for decent gains, but not track style upgrades/power. With the tuner at stage 2 and your street version kit, what gains would I see at whp/wtq and what type of tune would you recommend? I just currently run stage 1 off shelf map and tbh, not sure what’s the best tune for a DD w/occasional spirited driving. Any suggestions? Thanks Adam! Very informative vid!

Yeah heat-soak is reallll!
Is there a downside to the race intercooler on stock ecoboost or ecoboost making 400hp?

Oh my god the stock is so tiny
no wonder it heats up fast

Would a race or street intercooler be better for stage 3 Cobb tune?
Street, Cobb stage 3 is around 330whp
make stuff for my ram ecodiesel.
I am happy to see Adam always

Bro which one should I get? I’m just looking to go full bolt on and maybe throw a nx2 turbo on it later on, just enough horses to gap v8s 😏

Thank you for the reply, even though i totally commented on the wrong video LOL
Do you recommend putting the active grill shutters back on after upgrading the intercooler? Or just leave it off for more air in?
Good question - the smaller street intercooler doesn't require it but the larger race intercooler does.
MAPerformance do you suggest cutting the bottom half off but leaving the top shutter for the radiator. Just figured more air into the intercooler
We recommend leaving them all in unless you NEED to remove them. Otherwise take them all the way out, and add your own ducting.
What about intercooler piping size what do you recommend for street!
Do you still have to pull the whole front end off in order to install the street one?
+Stuka87 The street intercooler can be installed either way. We have an install video for it on our channel! It has also been revised so the install video should be updated pretty soon.
Hey Adam, nice video. Btw I have a 2017 Ecobeast. MBRP down pipe and cat back exhaust. how much is the street intercooler
Thanks Kevin! Right now it is $549.99
Can the street performance intercooler fix into our asian ecoboost model which is right hand drive?
Yes they should fit! We are in the states so have not had one to confirm this 100%. Shoot us an email: sales@maperformance.com
how does the race compare to the cobb intercooler?

Hey Christopher, Yes race would be good for the extreme conditions. A tune would be advised to make it as drivable as you'd like however.
MAPerformance oh yes there will be custom tuning due to the waste gate you can't run a ots stage 3 tune . Do you think it will still affect my spooling time ?
The race intercooler will cause a later spool, yes.
Do you guys make anything for the 2015 V6?
Hi Adam ... which intercooler you recommend for precision NX2 turbo upgrade for Mustang Ecoboost?
Depends on how you use it really, give us a shout! We'd love to talk specifics. sales@maperformance.com
Do I need a tune to run this intercooler
Not required but recommended to utilize fully 💪

You buy a full race intercooler or you don't buy one at all.
You say made in house. Maybe the end caps but is the actual core made by you or in China?
In China, I paid 220 shipped "ebay". Same street one here, same performance. Even pressure tested ect.
I gotta tune the car before installing the Intercooler kit right? I mean write it in the program
The Street version doesn't require it whereas the Race will... It is recommended that you get it done for the Street, however!
for ur turbo kit,is the street series enough?
+Bear Roy Certainly!
