My grandfather used this back in the 60s when I lived in Norway as a kid. I always thought he smelled classy. Now I got it on Amazon and absolutely love the reintroduction to it. My much younger wife went "oooh what's that?". A very good sign. At least for me 😎

The shaving soap and aftershave version of Tabac is a staple in the wet shaving hobby. Definitely a classic.

Got 20+ frags in my collection ranging from £10 - £200. And have to admit Tabac is one of my favourites. A very nostalgic and super clean smell to it.
Absolute class scent anyone over 28 can wear this. Very versatile and smells luxury. For me although starts beast mode it’s softens up very quick after an hour staying closer to the body. Usually someone who comes a bit closer than an arms length will smell it on you. This has become my signature scent and I’m 40. I also have the aftershave lotion which tines down the citrus but amps up the sopiness and neroli both smell amazing now I just need the EDT version. This price point is very good there nothing cheap smelling about this scent. Just a bit of advice tge cologne smells more modern vs aftershave
My Brother in law used to wear the original back in the 70/80's. He always smelled nice and from my perspective was a classy business exec type.

I believe the bottle is actually porcelain which is neat! You can see through it if you put a flashlight to it.

First gift from my then girlfriend some 50 years ago. That first bottle is in our display cabinet. Still wear it now after 49 years of married life. So it must be good aftershave. 😎
I’ve been wearing this for a while. It’s a great value. I’m approaching the “man of a certain age” category so I don’t mind going a little old school…as long as it works and is not overpowering.

For me, the after shave smells the best! After shave, edt and edc are quite different! Until early 80’s you had only the after shave in Europe!

I have a 10oz bottle of Tabac Eau de Cologne and I love it!

This is the best version (EDC) the EDT is super soapy and has less of the creamy base notes. and the aftershave is more floral/creamy closer to the colgne. The edt has a smoky note and almost smells like another scent still good though i own them all but my cologne bottleis a splash and can't find a spray version.
I have the 300ml but it doesn’t have an atomiser for some reason does anyone know why

Right it's a splash. 10 oz Edc.
I prefer the cologne it’s more cosy, the edt has a little sharper citrus but lasts longer
Does it smell like old spice aftershave?
No, not in my opinion. The Tabac is sort of a manly floral to me. However I have not tried the newest version of old spice.
I always kerp this around as an aftershave. Th powderiness of it put me off at first. But the genyle leather is awesome. Graat old schhol juice.
I have this one its nice but very strong smell but after 1-2 hours it will be very good

I have enough colognes for a while. Maybe next spring I’ll pick some up. If I remember, I’ll let you know. I forget. Did you mention that the notes combined give it a tobacco scent?

FYI Black Suede is similar to Tabac. IMO Tabac is more sharp and awakens your senses. Black Suede is smoother.
Ahhh ok gotcha- I'm hitting the mall today so I'll see if they have a tester of black suede at one of the perfume stores to try out!

I tried this one a few years ago and I thought it was awful. Same with Royal Copenhagen. I would go with Stetson or Brut over those.
Royal Copenhagen, smell like a wet beaver with crap all over it. Royal Copenhagen in Musk However is much better.

Smells like a barbie cheap perfume. Not even manly! Waste of money! I”m one of the fools who listened to a paid review and wasted 8$

Nobody who loves this or hates this is a fool. People have different tastes. Don't expect all reviewers to have your tastes and know that all blind buys are at your own risk.😊
