You've had the courage to serve both in the military and in law enforcement, but your greatest act of bravery to date, was wearing that shirt...Mr. Jones.😋 Where are the pajama bottoms that go with it?
This cologne is truly a hidden gem. I also recommend Mambo by Liz Claiborne.
I’m going to label this as European Old Spice! I love it! A perfect post shower pre-bed sent.. Casanova watch out
I bought some Old Spice last year - I don’t wear it often - but it’s very evocative, and a nice scent.
This was my late father’s favourite scent! I grew up with it, and hearing you describe it, I can still smell the aroma! I enjoyed your video tremendously. You would be an excellent copywriter! 😊
"Tabac" was the favourite after shave (apart from 'Old Spice') of both my grandfather and my father. So every time I use it they are both with me again. If I close my eyes I can still smell the masculine note when they came out of the bathroom.
If I am at their graveside, it does not do much for me, it's more like a memorial. But as soon as I open the bottle and put on the scent I am immediately taken back to my youth and my memories of both of them. So in fact it is more than "just another after shave" for me and it is now my turn to use it.
True heritage there sir.
This was my father's regular scent! Watching your video takes me back 50 years to him heading off to work in a cloud of Tabac!
Precious memories
Tabac shaving soap is in my top seven. I use all the items you reviewed (occasionally) and will continue to. Great vlog, Ash. Take care!
Ah, Tabac...my grandfather used to wear it, my dad did as well and now, I like it as well (I'm im my late 50's...) On my skin, it lasts from "after the shower" in the morning to "under the sheets" in the evening. It does not project verry far and, you are absolute right, it's the "navy blazer" of scents for well the dressed man. The shaving soap is an absolute classic and not only smells great but also works excelent. It was my first "better" soap a long time ago and now, I often use the "full set", soap, aftershave and edt....
The shave soap is a classic and works very well. I enthusiastically engage in 'Tabac Tuesday' every week and look forward to reacquainting myself with my old friend each week.
Love Tabac and use the shaving cream on a regular basis! Not only has it been my grandfather's scent of choice (b. 1925), but also the signature scent of many seasoned men in Germany - at least in my childhood. I had no idea that it's that readily available abroad. Btw: I inherited an old bottle of the EdC from said grandfather and compared it to a recent batch: virtually no differences in terms of smell whatsoever.
Thanks for sharing!
Could you do a episode on the Nikos Sculpture fragrence? Its a very affordable, but amazing smelling fragrence. Only about 35 euro for 100ml eau de parfum. It has been my go-to affordable recommendation for years.
Great review of a classic fragrance by a dapper chap.I have Tabac EDT and it is wonderful. From beginning to drydown, this is the epitomy of a gentleman's fragrance. Im so glad I gave it a chance. Great review of a worthy gem.
As a whiskered chap i enjoy fragrant beard oils. Tobacco scented ones mostly being my favorite. Cheers!
I started using Tabac aftershave a few months ago and really like it.
A favourite of mine for the last 5/6 years Tabac.
Coming to gentlemen’s fragrance’s only relatively recently and I like it a lot 👍🏻
Couldn't agree more!
Going to have to pick up the EDT. I love the fact this is something my dad or granddad could have used, and probably did at some point.
Another excellent review of a quality product of which I was completely ignorant. -Thank you, Ash.
My Tabac original edt is often in use on weekdays daytime. Like it.
Great review again Ash. Funny enough I shaved with it this afternoon and applied the aftershave lotion too. I find it lasts all day on my skin, I can still smell it now, nearly 11 hours later and I only applied a very small amount. Ps I like your shirt, great for summer.
An aftershave my Dad used to wear in the 80’s. I’ve been a fan of this frag for 10+ years and it’s remained in my regular rotation.
Tabac is a nice one.I like to wear it on brisk days, goes well with a tweed
Wonderful video again! Thanks, Ash!
May give this a try, although I'm an Old Spice addict - been using it for centuries!
Love the smell when I revisit the bathroom having doused myself in it after shaving at 5 am!!
I have often come across Tabac featured at the company where I purchase my wet shaving essentials, the name alone has always piqued my curiosity you have convinced me to give it a try!
I got my dad the EDT, the shave cream, & after shave for Christmas. Great Deal for All 3 and he loves it!! 👍🏽
Any chance you’ll do that Caswell Massey review? Thanks for the content, Ash!
Good review, I use Tabac occasionally, it's good stuff. Another oldy I like is English leather.
Fantastic review Ash, Tabac to a T . .. My all time favourite, created in my birth year, and bought for me by my mum when I was a boy, I just love the whole product line. Much prefer the EDT to the cologne, the cologne matches the aftershave. Would be nice to have the cologne at EDT strength. So many memories with Tabac, just an absolute classic.
Well, I (excuse the pun) splashed out and bought some - and it’s great! A really nice, quite subtle aftershave. A great work day scent - thanks for the reminder!
Great review Ash (as always). I would be interested to hear your thoughts on Brut and Aramis too. I used to use M&S Woodspice which I found to be a very comforting scent but sadly I think it has been discontinued.
I love Tabac, I use the shaving soap, aftershave and deodorant
I love tabac ❤️ classy and masculine 💪🏾 A great tribute video for a timeless brand
I first discovered Tabac in the 1970s when I bought the aftershave for my boss who was a memorably good boss and was the spitting image of Roy Kinnear the actor. He was very good to his staff.
Used to use this & Brut & Blue Stratos when I was a kid - well, they were all cheap & cheerful 😀 Nice watch, by the way!
Time to try them again. They're timeless!
Several years ago I started exploring classic old school men’s fragrances. Tabac was on the list and I too was surprised by its light floral notes, having expected a darker heavier scent. I think it’s well suited for daytime in the spring and early summer. I predate Tabac’s debut by 4 years and as an older chap I quite like Tabac’s subtle and understated tone.
Great video as always, I personally think is smells stale like damp old trousers. Not a fan , but appreciate the history and the shave soap is a phenomenal performer.
The EDT has many gorgeous natural accords.
God forbid a guy wear a fragrance described as masculine 🤷
This has been on my Amazon list for some time now. I think this is the perfect reason to go for it.
“Occasion fragrance“ is such a cool term!
I love tabac too. Tabac and blue stratos.
Personally I do find it to be quite “tobacco-y” though. Perhaps you haven’t sampled a great deal of tobacco blends ash. Some can be spicy, sweet and floral. After all, tobacco is from a plant !
I love it too.
I was using that in the 70s also brut denim blue stratos
Tabac is an absolute classic. I hope they continue to sell it for years to come. Boots sell it too.
My shaving cabinet is always filled with Tabac products. Shaving soap. (Including a shaving stick for traveling) aftershave and cologne. My wife gave me a 300mm bottle for my Christmas. That one will last me a long time. 🙂
Denim Original Eau de toliette. It's up there with Tabac. Extraordinary value for the money.
One of my go to daily summer fragrances. It does a great job without being overpowering.
Totally agree!
Tabac is not a bad aftershave at all, I use it after a shave too. I get it for cost as the misses works in a Chemists. Need some more.
Tabac Original definitely has tobacco undertones. It's pleasant though, you won’t smell like a smoker wearing this. It’s also the longest lasting aftershave I've owned. I can smell it the next day even after a shower.
Last week I purchased a chore coat, then you released chore coat video. A few days ago I purchased Tabac shave soap...
You are clearly on trend sir.
@@TheChapsGuide haha. Maybe a Panama/Straw Hat review is in the works?
Sounds like something I would like. I'm a little old fashioned and masculine and a year older than the product 😂. Cheers Ron
Ash, have you worn the Eau de Cologne version of this? That's the one I had and I quite enjoyed it.
It is a bit more floral. Also wonderful
@@TheChapsGuide Certainly!
I'm an Eau de Toilette kind of guy.
Tabac or florris naaaaa
I’ve heard it smells like an old lady’s pocketbook
Not unless that old lady is Henry Cavill
