legally blonde is such a good movie. i especially enjoyed that in the end when elle finally reached her goal of becoming a lawyer, she didn’t change. she still wore pink skirts and heels and had the same bubbly personality despite having a job which requires you to appear ”professional” and ”smart”, proving that she is in fact both of those things, even when presenting ultra feminine. anyways, ur video was great!! really hoping you gain more exposure in the future, this video was super well done 💗
That was my favorite part of the movie as well. Elle didnt need to alter her feminine style in order to be intelligent and successful, which is a great message to send to girls and women everywhere :) and thank you for watching!! I love reading responses and having conversations in the comments, it makes my day
great video but i will say for mean girls i enjoyed modern gurlz analysis of cady's style where at the end of the film yes her style is back to jeans but its more elevated and polished, remnants from her time she spent with the plastics. she gained a new sense of style and confidence she didn't have from being friends with them
I agree! I should’ve said something along that lines cuz looking back I see her style kinda fell in the middle. Thank u for watching also! I appreciate ur feedback :)
i agree with pretty much all you said except the bit about Sharpay not having much drive. I think her case is even more damaging becase she HAD a lot of drive, she was an actress and her goals were all related to an acting career. everyone else was doing the musical as a side thing while focusing on other goals. gabriela had her science goals, troy was a basket player, etc. sharpay and her brother literally LIVED for acting, and yet, their goals were completely thrown into the ultrafeminine demonization curse because i guess theater isnt considered a serious enough goal for one to pursue. no matter if a girl has drive or not, if her drive is directed towards a perceived less masculine career, its as good as nothing :c
I agree!! I really should’ve rephrased it. I kinda meant that Sharpay had drive but the movie chose not to highlight the amount of work she put into her passions in order to make her seem less likeable in a sense. But looking back at this video I wish I said something along the lines that you did because I agree. Sharpay was my favorite 😭 and thank you for watching! It means the world :)
Totally agree with what you’re saying but I would add that even the masculine female characters still are quite feminine. While ultra feminine women find themselves demonized in film actual masculine women are literally non existent in media. So the opposing forces in these movies tend to be women who perform femininity enough to be attractive to men and ultra feminine women.
Yeah exactly. Want to talk demonization let’s talk women who don’t fit into societal standards. I mean women who men don’t feel like they have a chance with or don’t want to chance with.
@@sydastark I agree; what you're referring to is misogynistic behavior, but that doesn't cancel out the fact that what my video about also falls under the umbrella of misogyny. we can recognize that they both are harmful without trying to say one is worse than the other because, let's face it, all misogyny is harmful to the entirety of the female populous. I think what you're discussing would probably need it's own video. I emphasized in this video that there are other types of femininity in women that are also attacked, to emphasize that we all face the same issue in the end, which is misogyny
the worst part is that at the end of the day, none of the femme characters win. the whole thing is literally a sacrifice of any aspect of femininity at either end of the spectrum to the male side characters. i hate how growing up i was convinced that femininity was bad, even though the ultrafem was my vibe! ive struck a balance with my fashion sense because since then, i did come out as genderqueer, but also learning to embrace pink and mini skirts and things because hating them is illogical
hello!! not on the topic of video but I just wanna say you're so like.. goddamn!! I'd like to hear more of your thoughts on any other topic idk i LIKE you.. you're awesome I hope you're living your BEST life (which seems to be like that basing on the videos on the channel but I can be wrong but STILL. may all the bad stuff avoid you for the rest of your life)
Hmm I am conflicted about this tbh. I do think feminine women are seemed as "too shallow" and that sucks, and the "bimbo" bullshit I also hate, being girly does not make you dumb! it is LITERALLY what the media forces women to be since birth. Since femininity is seem as superficial, I suppose that's why the antagonists in teenage girl movies are mostly girls who care too much about makeup and going shopping, or wanting to get a boyfriend in a very desperate, manipulative way. I also don't think "toxic femininity" is real. I personally love Legally Blonde because Elle doesn't have to change herself in order to achieve her dream. but...LISTEN... I have an issue with the people who don't question why they're hyperfeminine. I honestly don't think is natural, neither is masculinity. Men invented it to make women weaker. Heels and tight dresses can make it harder for us to move. Makeup takes too much time of our routine we could use to do other productive stuff. We have to be careful to avoid ruining it. It is strange. Very strange. I am not masculine at all, I do enjoy dresses and long hair. But I seriously dislike the girlies who really think femininity is "misunderstood" because it really isn't. It has been shoved down our throats for centuries.
Hyperfemininity means liking traditionally feminine stuff, not obsessing over it to the point of ruining your own life. Your issue is not rational. Just let women fucking be what they want!

This is a good take, thank you for your perspective! I agree :) and thank you for watching and your input! It really means a lot
I've noticed that even when they're not attracted to guys they're still presented as attractive to men.
