just bought tickets of coming concert on 18 of Dec 2021 which will be playing Shostakovich's symphony 9. Hope it will be as good as expected the same as this one.
Some gorgeous playing and shaping but the promise of the 1st movement is not followed through and a bit of a muddle in the coda spoils this. Zweden's Shostakovich is maturing into some of the best and the HK Phil was made world class by him. This performance, though, misses the mark.
