    This is pretty cool you always make it look so simple. Plus, it seems easy enough as long as the parts are available, and the patience gods are present on those shoulder cuts.

      I found out after I made my video that a lot of people just make one cut at the very side of the peg, and then just when it is still pliable pull the whole thing out and put the new one in. So some people don't remove any material from the middle of the peg like I do. But either way with patience and going slow, you should be just fine. And thank you very much! it's a lot easier to make it seem easy when you talk about it after the fact, but some of the stuff is still kind of frustrating while doing it. if you had seen some of the stuff I go through making my next custom which will have a video next week, oh man.....

    It came out great. I like the head from rebirth Superman more.
    I saw a cool custom Superman from bones and the necro zoo on RUclips.

      The Rebirth head is pretty good, but I wanted the "Jim Lee" Hush look. I've got the Rebirth head on too many other figures, ha ha!

    Nice job up sizing that Supes.
    I just downsized Hush Bats by cutting his ankles shorter a bit.
    Toddy Mac toys need to be more cognizant of the scaling so customers can get what they need right out of the box.
    That said, it’s good you share your custom techniques. Thanks!

    Hush is ok except for the skin tone and the short thigh which makes his shorter than Bats and WW. So my main Supes for now is the TDKR one. I just used the Hush head and the closed fists. I guess I'm ok with him looking beefcakey since he is Superman so he should be tall and the biggest scrapper among all the McF figs. There's a reason why they call him big blue, right? 😆

      Thank you! And now with the new Mullet Superman coming soon, I'll have the DKR body in the Hush Color scheme, so I can make one that's the proper colors!! I'll do an update when that figure comes out and I finish it!

      @@scottmcclary594 yeah, I found that out myself yesterday when my mullet Superman arrived. I was hoping they would be the same blue, but you were totally correct. Mullet Superman is a way lighter and a bit more washed out. Doesn't match the hush blue at all.

    Hi Dan, I love your video, I am thinking whether I should buy the 3 supermans because of you. But I got a question that I am not sure if I miss it. Did you keep the hush neck peg? Seems his neck is higher after customized.

    • @VoidCityReviews
      @VoidCityReviews  5 месяцев назад

      Thank you very much! And great question! Yes, I did switch the neck peg. I have a whole box full of different size neck pegs, and I chose the one that is the very next size bigger. So it's not much of a difference at all but it's enough that it shows. you can even do that with the regular hush Superman figure and it helps that figure look a bit taller as well. You can even extend the torso in the original one as well, I've seen people replace the torso peg or just not push it in as far, and it makes his torso taller so the original figure can be a bit taller without needing extra body parts like I did here. I just wanted a big Superman though, hahaha!

    you looked great with that Custome ;) but how would it look having the Rebiert Superman head?

    • @VoidCityReviews
      @VoidCityReviews  11 месяцев назад

      I mean, it works just fine. It basically just looks like Rebirth Superman with different arms and a different lower body. So no real change there as far as how it would look. But for this particular version of Superman, I didn't think the Rebirth head worked very well. Nothing against it, I just wanted the more "Jim Lee" styled head for this particular Superman. Mezco has a really good kind of angry Superman head also. I've been thinking of picking that up as well because I hear it's pretty easy to switch those out and put that in place of the McFarlane head. I'm not talking about for this particular custom, but just to have in the future.

      @@VoidCityReviews is that I think the Hush Superman's head looks a bit small for the proportions of that new body.

    • @VoidCityReviews
      @VoidCityReviews  11 месяцев назад

      @@luiscarlosalarconsaa9110 the rebirth had looks smaller, honestly.part of it too as I have him standing as tall as possible and most of those photos. When you repose him and whatnot or tilted head a bit more downward, it looks a lot better too. Either way though, that's how Superman is actually drawn in many comics.it's kind of one of the rules of proportion for drawing comic book characters, the hero has a bigger buffer body and the head is a little bit smaller to make the body look bigger and more "super." After I shot this video, I also put a neck peg on him that is about a millimeter shorter than the one that's in the video. That also helps. But yeah, the rebirth had actually looks way smaller than this one even.

    I also wanted to ask you, if possible, to give some ideas or solutions for that horrible figure of Supergirl (woman of tomorrow), that Uncle Todd just made, the truth is, with that unfeminine and strange face, but the legs totally painted red all the way up, what has come out is a complete disaster. Thank you

    • @VoidCityReviews
      @VoidCityReviews  11 месяцев назад

      I wouldn't call it a COMPETE disaster, but it could use improvement, for sure. I haven't picked one up yet myself, we have such a back catalogue of figures to review and customize, so I haven't seen one in hand yet. My hope is that the face can be saved with better paint, because that's definitely one of the issues. The legs can be painted too, that is is easy. Even adding a line on the thighs to look like the tops of her boots wouldn't be hard, I'd just use a small amount of apoxy clay. If the head is a total loss even with a repaint, I'd first see if I had any other McFarlane heads that work better, and if not, order one online to use. Lastly, and this is only if it's feasible to do so with not TOO much effort... I might see if I can reshape the skirt somehow to make those hips less huge.... Last ditch effort, I'd MAYBE see about making a cloth skirt for her, but I'd probably need one of those "diaper" pieces from another female fodder figure, as under the skirt on that Supergirl figure... It's a mess as-is.

    • @VoidCityReviews
      @VoidCityReviews  11 месяцев назад

      Always keep in mind, 98% of McFarlane figures look WAY better in real life though, their photographers over they are TERRIBLE at making their figures look good. Awkward posing, terrible lighting, weird Photoshop effects.... Just terrible on every account. I think it's on purpose, so when you see them in real life and they look better than you remember, you're more tempted to buy them... 🤔🤔🤨🤨🤫

      Thank you very much for the advice, friend, because when I also saw the first reviews of this Supergirl figure, they discouraged me a lot from wanting to buy it. I don't know why so far the best Supergirl out there is a 6-inch figure, released several years ago (DC Icons Supergirl). Is it so difficult to imitate something similar?@@VoidCityReviews

    You know this friggin Batman really pisses me off.. WHY TODD, why would they make one stand alone scaled figure don't make any sense 😢

    • @VoidCityReviews
      @VoidCityReviews  11 месяцев назад

      Well, scale has never REALLY mattered in the DC multiverse line, but he also needed bigger Batman figures to go with Spawn, and the Spawn figures have always been bigger. Some of the others have been scaling up also, just the rest really need to catch up. This needed to be a new Superman, not a reuse.

    Out of curiosity, why not shorten batman? Would improve his proportions a lot imo.

    • @VoidCityReviews
      @VoidCityReviews  4 месяца назад +1

      Good question. To my eye, the Batman figure looks more correct than the Superman figure does. That Superman sculpt has always looked shortened and kind of squished and has always needed to be taller. Making the Batman shorter wouldn't solve the problem of Superman being too short. It would just make Batman too short also, at least in my opinion. for me, the only real problem with the Batman figure is that weird gap between his collarbones and his shoulders. There's a strange gap up there and I have no idea why it exists, and that might be something I try to do something about, but I'm fine with his height, it's just the other character in relation to him from the same story whose height is incorrect. I won't say anything about proportion because I know that most of the body I used for this Superman figure is a little bit exaggerated to say the least. And lastly, just personal preference I guess. Hope that answered the question.
