Amazing piece of music. My picture: 0:00 - 1:21 The end creeps up on you. A cold wind passes by. 1:22- 1:53 This cloud has just received a silver lining! Happiness and faith. 1:54 - 2:09 Hope and determination still mean something. Never give up on either. 2:10 - 2:25 If this is the end, all power shall be released. We will stop it! Persistence. "The Black Winds howl. One amongst you will shortly perish..." -Magus
The song is meant to be a back and forth between cronos world and lavos. It's supposed to be telling a story, just like you said. But it's also a battle between cronos party and lavos in a turn based fashion like the game. It's pretty incredible
Destruction rains from the heavens! Laser beams: Opens the doors to oblivion Grandstone: Ultimate Physical Attack The end of all and nothing The party has fallen...
If there is EVER news of a cinematic release of Chrono Trigger, I would do everything I could to make sure that you would become a part of the team that produces it's music. I would start an online petition for your sake. That is how good this remix is. If anyone else believes that LEAFXCEED absolutely deserves a spot there, please give me a thumbs up. Keep doing what you love LEAF. Peace.
urahara228 For the past 2 years, I have been writing a Chrono Trigger manga, and plan for it to be completed by Winter of 2019, but the chances that I'll be noticed by Square are slim to none 😔
The thing I like most about this amazing remix is the fact that it doesn't try too hard to *be* a remix, especially in the Lavos' Theme portion. A lot of soundtrack remixes do that, and it tends to backfire with them losing a lot of what made the original so good in the process.
That's one thing I try to be real careful with. Sometimes the song as it is doesn't need changing, and I feel a lot of people do that unnecessarily. Thank you!
@Raheth After all, this is to date my masterpiece remix in the sense that no other remix I've worked on before has take all the time and effort to do this one--I for one am glad that it's paying off by being appreciated by people like you and others :) Thank you!
It reminds me of this cover(albeit a different style) because of the layout with transitioning to themes of the alternate forms. This one is still epic as hell!
Everyone here, who've been navigated through woven fate, are a family of people blissfully cursed by our love of CT . This game and its music are a fragment of the past that we try to bring back to life in every way we can - but it's pieces such as this remix that truly grant us the moment to live the game again. Godspeed, brother, and thank you.
Inspiration doesn't strike as often nowadays, but trust me, I'll do all I can to keep making music I love and want to share to all of you. Thank you :)
I bought this game in 1995. I was in 5th grade. I thought it was the best game I had ever played. I still think that, and this arrangement makes me feel the same feelings I felt when I was 11.
Ive played Chrono Trigger the first day it came to the SNES and it still to this day is my favorite RPG. This remix is much more then words can describe . Great work!!!
Or alternatively, Lavos never had a chance of success in the most epic battle of all time! ... in the most literal sense. 'cause y'know, Chrono Trigger ... yeah.
I'm not sure about OCRemix, but I haven't really posted this in many places. I think that's where I'm lacking--I don't really get my stuff around as much as I want to, cause I don't go through posting it around ... thank you for the suggestion, and glad you like it :)
This part has always been my absolute favorite, its so godamn powerful. the hopelessness of it is awesome, like you are the only thing standing in the way of this thoughtless 65 million year old energy eating parasite from destroying the world ;-;! the feels bro...
It gives me chills. There were a lot of games I liked at the time, but I didn't really love that many games. And there are even fewer games that I still love the same way I did then. Thank you for this.
This just makes me want to yell things like, "Evil Emanation", "Shadow Slay" and everyone's favorite, "Shadow Doom Blaze!" In fact, despite being at work, I'm going to do so because this remix is epic.
Really like this version. I like how it starts out kind of slow(Loud, still) and then it picks up really quickly later on. Like how a boss battle should. Thanks for the upload.
i usually don't like how people remix my childhood game music, and usually gets me mad how they destroy the entire song...But this right here is a masterpiece and I can actually listen to it for hours. Hats off to you good sir
Great instrumentation, not a huge overuse of synth, nor a narrow focus on the lead guitar...very well done mate! And the nod to FFVIII's "The Oath" at the end there? Beautiful :)
This is the best remix i've ever heard of the whole finale of this game... If they make Chrono Trigger HD or something in 3D this needs to be apart of the actual OST
LEAF XCEED Music Division You really made something exceptional. Definitely added to favorites. Best remix of 2 of the best tracks from the best RPG made by the best team of one of the best genres of one of the best industries of the best society of the best species on the best planet in the best universe God could have created.
This is beyond fucking stunning. You've completely captured that feeling of dread fighting Lavos with this piece. I cannot express just how amazing this track is! Well done!
@SayWhiplash Always! And about Cave Story, maybe I'll do one or two more remixes before I completely stop making Cave Story remixes XD It's one of the biggest things that got me around, and with my skill now, maybe I'll be able to work on stuff like Running Hell one of these days. Time will tell, but it's definitely an idea I'll keep in mind :)
In terms of capturing those emotions of the original, I guess my symphonic metal interpretation would give a different feeling and a different focus o:
LEAF XCEED Music Division No, thank you. I have to ask, would you ever consider tackling a song from the Castlevania series (ie Bloody Tears), Megaman, or Final Fantasy VI (I believe your version of Dancing Mad would be awesome).
Yes, yes and yes, with FFVI being the least likely but I'm quite aware all of the aforementioned games have wonderful soundtracks I have yet to try my hand on. :) In the demo stage I'm working on a Mega Man mini-album and one Castlevania remix. Nothing from FFVI but one remix from FFIX though XD
Those are actually legitimate suggestions, and I've been thinking about Simon's Theme for some time now. However, Castlevania: Harmony Of Despair has a pretty good remix of Dracula's Castle you might want to check out :)
wolf3415 Would you believe the idea for that part just arrived after I finished making the metal part before it? XD Thank you so much and so glad you enjoyed it!
Well, I'm Ramon Nario, the guy behind these bunches of remixes uploaded onto this account of course! Thank you, and I'll think about it, 'cause usually it takes a really enjoyable game and great soundtrack to get me remixing. I haven't played the game XD
I'd love to see this as part of a fan-made CT remake. Even just the original game with high-quality remixes for the music. Have it keep looping throughout the final battle, and shift into the finale as you deal the finishing blow.
Mhm ... who knows, as long as there's a possibility we don't really know, but in the case that it happens, we'll be here and ready to play them again :)
Just stumbled across this while listening to a Fire Emblem link from the letsplay archive. Wow, just wow. Thank you for an exceptional tribute to CT and Mitsuda. Already downloaded the pack off your site, can't wait to hear your other remix's.
Nope, LEAF XCEED Music Division is a completely synthesized project ... including the guitars. Sample libraries. I don't have the playing skill but I don't let that stop my ideas XD Thank you!
@TMMDIDMMT See, that's where the difference of vision and direction lies between OCR and remixers like myself. There are remixers who interpret it into something different, and there are remixers who simply enhance the original. I may be part of the latter, but in any case, there's an audience for both styles, because in essence, their purpose will forever be the same--the widespread appreciation of all video game music :) Thanks, and I'm glad you love it!
In the end... the future refused to change.
Dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnn
and we are seeing the effects of it now
I keep coming back to this track, time and time again. What a rush!

Yep, I messed up four years ago. Too late to do anything now.

@Lavos unfortunately true....
@Lavos because square gives zero fucks about their fan base in the end. and only does what makes them money
An anime done by either ufotable or studio bones would be a good investment.
I can't believe my ears.....
Is this a dream?
Am I lost in time?
No
Then........
It must be.....
THE GREATEST SONG IN HUMAN HISTORY
this was flagged as spam tho HAHA
Still holds up in 2019. This is a fantastic remix.
@Lavos You are not a new commenter here hahaha but thank you both to you and @tyler smith!

Utterly amazing. The only thing missing were some random Lavos screams.
Hahaha, so a lot of people have told me XD
There's a cover by LittleVMills that does the random scream at least once x3
It reminds me of this cover(albeit a different style) because of the layout with transitioning to themes of the alternate forms. This one is still epic as hell!
It's World Revolution not Final Battle
Unimaginable is the power of Lavos, Anyone who dares oppose it... meets certain doom.
Chrono Trigger The future refuses to change.
2:10 THIS RIGHT HERE is EXACTLY what it needs to sound like when you fail the world. PERFECTLY PUNISHING!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
Damn right! You're welcome!
Why am I just finding this now?! Incredible work, this is going into my frequent listening folder.
Hahaha, well it's not easy for me to get around, I appreciate the love
Rediscovered in 2023 baby!
I think this is now my favourite remix of any videogame song ever.
Wow, really? Thanks! :)
10 months later and it's still my favourite. :D
Even more thanks HAHAHA
This is one of the many things that makes Chrono Trigger absolutely amazing.
This is just fucking incredible. If there was any theme I would fight for mankind to, it would be this.
Probably not looking forward to it, but this is a nice plus. HAHA thanks!

I can't believe I found this god-tier cover after so many years.

This gives me full body chills. I'm shaking all over like I have hypothermia. TOO MUCH AWESOME
So glad it evokes such warm feelings from those who experienced it in their childhood :)
Liked sheerly for the "And the future refused to change" at the end, although as I recall it was "But the future refused to change."
Glad you like my stuff, hope you enjoy what I have so far and maybe what I'll have in the future :)

Note to self: try to be near a place with "Proto" in its name when that happens, have 3 or more friends with me, and look for a guy named Spekkio.
