- Mike was helping me install a new bathroom fan this past weekend, and due to the size of the bathroom fan (for my new addition master bath, stay tuned 😉) we needed 6 inch insulated flex duct. Well that size of flex duct can be kind of tough to zip tie to your fan, so Mike snagged this Malco Nylon Tie Tensioning Tool. Otherwise known as a zip tie tightening and cutoff tool.
It seems kind of cheesy, but is actually worth it's weight in gold. It kind of costs that much too unfortunately.

Thanks, just started in the Trade!!
Just bought one because of this video
Nice!
Nice. The couple of sets of "cutters" I have laying around the shop don't cut until they have a certain "torque" (amount of tension on the zip tie). I see there hasn't been much improvement in the last 20 years, or so. The dinosaurs I have are adjustable. Do the one's you're using have that option?
Unfortunately not. That’s the boujie one mike was talking about. Ours won’t cut until you operate the cut apparatus of the tool. Sounds like yours are pretty good
Are the cut zip-tie ends sharp as broken glass, like all the others ? I heard there is one tool that cuts the end rounded off.
I wouldn’t say they’re razor blades but it’s not rounded off either. I think you’d have to try pretty hard to cut yourself or something else
You're hired, Mike! 😏
