The Hutterites in general, are great neighbours, who do make a good difference in this world, by their reaching out into the community and providing essential services where they can. Although I am not a Hutterite myself, I have had personal dealings with them. Overall; they are a people who want to make the world a better place to live in. Isn't this what every Christian "talking the talk" AND "walking the walk" should be doing ?
I have been at the origin of Hutterite history in Italy . I spend holiday on a 1500m altitude Hutterite house from 15. century (between rocks and mountains). Nearby in Castle Sand in Taufers the Hutterites had be tourtured in prison . I was very impressed to be in this place . Its amaizing , that this community is 500 year old and still knows the German language songs from Southern Tyrol , better than the inhabitants of today. It is a wonder of GOD, that this community still exists.
Not in all cases. We had a millionaire cattle rancher about 3 miles from our colony. He used to laugh at us, Baling hay is kind of a science, because you have to wait for the right moisture content that requires periodic testing, monitoring jumping in when the water is fine we would feed hay and our cows would abort because the hay was bad he says when I’m out bailing hay, you’re not that tells me you don’t know what you’re doing. He was correct. There can be a vacuum because of no influence or education from outside sources and you just randomly do stuff the wrong way
There a two Hutterite colonies called "Mountain View", one in Irricana, Alberta and one in Broadview, Montana. The colony described here, is the one in Alberta. It's a Dariusleut Colony.
In America we are tolerant of a persons right to worship as they see fit. On the other hand we do expect this Culture to participate in a Military Draft should our Country ever need them. Americans will not Tolerate sending their Sons and Daughters to War while watching other Communities shun this Obligation. It was not Pacifism that made the United States of America the Greatest and Strongest Nation on this Planet. Unless you are an American, you will not understand this and you will criticize us but this is who we are.
You can speak for yourself as to who you are. You do Not speak for all Americans. Politicians can decide what they want and anyone can leave the US. This is not rocket science but you act like you speak for all Americans. Hutterites left the US before and they can leave it again -- duh! No one can force anyone to kill nor is it morally right. If your kind chooses to kill, others have their own decisions to make. I for one am not a Hutterites. I for one am an American. I for one don't want to kill. If you choose to kill or approve of the military, that's on your hands. Shedding innocent blood is on your hands also. Even if you didn't do it yourself. You supported it.
