Your review is like the only one out there on this trailer worth watching! Thank you for that. You mentioned that you thought the crossbars were too close together, so you know how many inches apart they are? I looked up the manual and it didn’t show the specs on the distance.
That's why I made the review. I couldn't find any useful information before buying it. The distance between the cross bars is about 50". It's a good distance apart for the base of a kayak but it leaves a little play in front if you're using the area around the crossbars for straps. I've solved that problem for myself with 3 mounted ratchet straps.
How do you strap the kayaks to the trailer? I just bought one of these trailers and I'm looking for ideas to prevent the straps from slipping side to side on the bars.
Thanks for the video. I just bought one. Fyi I asked them if they had slightly longer crossbars. One of my canoes is a bit wider. They said they now have 72 inch crossbars. Which is perfect for me. Question, the wheels you provided a link for, are they a bit taller? Thanks
PLEASE HELP!! These dampeners you spoke of… I ordered the ones from your link but I can’t figure out how to install them on the trailer. They don’t line up with the leaf spring mount bolt holes. Where/how do I use them?
If I remember correctly, I removed the rubber portion and was able to slide it over the bolt with quite a bit of effort. It's been a long time, my apologies. I will take a look at the assembly tomorrow and comment back.
Awesome!! Thank you so much! You’re the man! So you may find this interesting… I plan on adding a box rack to the kayak. I’ll be using a truck bed box rack that will be slightly modified for better sizing. This way I can put one kayak on top of the other and have room on the sides for storage.
Do you think this would work for a 14 foot canoe with a transom and outboard? I’m working on restoring a 14 foot sportspal transom canoe and I’m looking for a trailer since my outboard is 4 stroke.
I think it would work but there would definitely be a portion of the canoe hanging over the rear. My 12 foot kayak fits without issue and I think something longer would too. You will probably have to safely situate it as closely to the rear of the car as you can to minimize it hanging off the back.
Hopefully you see this I know this is an older video but do you still recommend this trailer for 2023/24 and also the Damping Mount? I plan on buying this trailer.
I would still recommend it. Mine has seen a lot of miles over the last couple years and I've had no issues other than needing to repaint and rust proof. If I were going to do it all again, I'd probably get the next level up (the Ruff Sport) because of the galvanized construction and bigger wheels, but this trailer certainly still does the job well. It's super light and easy to store because of its smaller size.
@@RivermanTV- do you have the 2023 version or do you have the older one because I see online that New for 2023! Improved corrosion resistance through new powder coat process. Wonder if that fix the issue you had.
@@reptarkenny I have the older model. The powder coat sounds like it would help. Either way, repainting and rust proofing really isn't a big job if it becomes necessary.
I think they would both fit but may hang off of either side just a little bit, which would be okay if they could both be secured to the trailer in some way. Right On does make wider crossbars that would fit both without a doubt.
Where did you source the dampening rubbers? I bought the galvanized version, took care of a few of the negatives you addressed. No rust, 12 inch wheels
Sorry - this comment didn't show up for me. Glad you found the link. The part comes as two pieces and I ended up only using the rubber portion. You do have to work a bit to get it on so that the bolt passes through again but definitely worth it!
I just bought these but haven't put them on yet: www.amazon.com/dp/B071P2XK3M?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Waiting for spring. I'm also going to replace the hubs/bearings so I will probably make a video with the correct specs since the company never replies to any of my spec questions.
The manual says it is rated for interstate speeds of 65mph. I would imagine that rating means under full load. I don't run it full load and go faster than that.
It's not advisable with the stock lights but I've done it up to a certain point where the lights weren't completely submerged. I'd recommend getting waterproof LEDs for the rear and installing those right off the bat
Loved the video. Thank you so very much. I send a msg to you at RivermanTV. Please let me know if it doesn't come through. Thank you very much and have a great day! 😀

Good Video! Sick Channel 5 hoodie too.
Gotta show that love to my boy Andrew C.
Crazy what a year has done to that price but it's still a lot less then the others.
I'd say the increase is worth it given the changes they've made for the newer models of the trailer.
@@RivermanTV- I agree!! I'm picking up the galvanized one.

They're the same size as the stock wheels as far as I can tell.

Could I haul a 13’8” Sailfish sailboat? How long are your kayaks?
Not sure. You'd be pushing it. My longest kayak is slightly longer than 12'.
Question: my wife and I have the titan 10.5 and slayer 10 from watercraft, do you think they would both lay flat on this trailer? Thank you!!

The crossbars on this are 64" wide so it should fit. You may have to get creative with how it is secured.
Did you ever put the bigger wheels on it? If so howd It go?
I didn't. I replaced with new tires this spring and they are running like champs after a couple thousand miles.
