- The second video about a water soluble ink drawing together with watercolor. But this time we use a reference photo and I show you how to do this. I used a watercolor pad 300 gms, water soluble ink and a watercolor rounded brush

Hi Martin, I love your videos + learn so much from you. I especially appreciate the way you draw + sometimes paint trees. A perfect blend of realistic + abstract. You know, I get so much from your instruction, I would like your videos even without music. I can’t just turn off the sound lest I miss an important detail from you. Thank you again!
Hi, thank you so much for your kind and detailed feedback! I appreciate it so much! Good point about the music! I will keep that in mind! 🖋️👍💯 Best wishes from austria, Martin!
I always use a proportianal scale divider to measure out points, a few dots here and there then simply join them up , its very quick and simple even for complicatedsubjects... job done. 👍
Great idea 👍🖋️
I loved to see this work start from the beginning until the end, amazing and inspiring job! Thank you for share it with us 😊 Also the music was on point 👍🏻

Dear Martin,
I discovered your first video on RUclips last week and I was immediately very excited! I am particularly charmed by your style and the way you create beautiful drawings.
I will definitely watch all your previous videos, because I will learn a lot from them and especially apply them to my own drawing work.
I have already secretly started with a first attempt. The nice thing was that my wife asked me: who made this drawing? What a dynamic style that sketch has! And she couldn't believe I made it (i.e. copied it) ;)
I am currently at home with severe Postcovid complaints, so I will try to find peace in studying your beautiful work! I wish you lots of success and inspiration! Kind regards, Anton.
Hi, Anton,I hope that you are feeling better in the meantime and that drawing continues to bring you joy and success! Best wishes from Austria

Hallo Martin!
Mach weiter so!
Dein Fan Georg
I love your artwork. I wonder if drawing some lines in permanent ink and some in soluble ink might work.
thank you very much and yes, this works very well. I did this in many other drawings to mix water soluble and waterproof ink together in one picture.
Great painting/drawing. I’m really interested in the water-soluble ink and it’s interaction with watercolour. Can you tell me if the water-soluble ink is lightfast? Thanks 👍🏻
Hi, thank you very much! Unfortunately I can't say whether the water-soluble ink is also lightfast
Çok güzel👋👋👋
Thank you very much 💯🖋️👍
bom dia...
good morning... Martin... this video was excellent... I'm improving myself in watercolor line&wash, in reference photos of buildings from 1850/1900 here in my city... what you showed will help me a lot in adding new techniques.... very grateful.
Thank you for this wonderful feedback! That helps a kot for my further tutorials! Great 🖋️👍

I tried figuring out how to make splatters with a nib. The only way I could make bigger splatters was to basically ruin a nib so that the tines almost criss-cross and I have to slide them at least twice. There must be a better way… you make it look so easy and you get nice big splatters. Try again another day……..
Hi! This question: How I do these splatters, is often ask, so I am planning a tutorial about that 👍🖋️
@@MartinLachmairArt That would be an awesome topic to cover! Thx!
I love your style! It’s different from other ink and watercolor artists on RUclips, which is great! I haven’t managed to watch all of your videos yet, so pardon me if you have already addressed this, but could you talk a little bit more about how you simplify things when you’re drawing from a reference? How do you decide which shadows to simplify in a tree, for example? That’s what always slows me down when I’m drawing… Trying to add too much detail. Some of my pen “sketches” end up taking weeks to finish, which is ridiculous. Thanks for posting these videos!
Thank you so much for your helpful feedback! That would be a very good topic for my next video! So maybe in one or two days I will record tutorial about your questions 🖋️👍💯
..."Trying to add too much detail"...... eu também..(me to).hehe.
Awesome and thanks for sharing and showing us your special talent in watercolors. Can i ask you what brush you used and that little nifty line drawer and reference tool. Have a great day and you're inspiring more people than you know to paint and watch your videos, don't stop. John from Vancouver Island 🏝
Hi! Thank you so much! It’s a brush by escoda the red travel set. The ruler is a WINTEX patchwork ruler (amazon) 💯🖋️👍
Would it be easier to make 4-5 different value ink solutions as it is made with Chinese ink for ink drawings?
Well that’s a good point. Maybe I want to avoid that the blacks and greys are to uniform when mixing them before.
Do you use hot press?
Indeed in this case i used hot pressed paper. But I use cold pressed as well!
@@MartinLachmairArt Thank you....i appreciate your answer
