Just got one of these from my grandma and realized I had no idea what I was actually doing despite having used sewing machines before. Found your video and realized I missed so many steps setting it up causing my machine to jam up. Thank you for this!
I'm very grateful to have stumbled across your video today! Although it's a Singer Advance, I too, have had my machine for YEARS and have NEVER been able to figure out how to use the automatic needle threader. Due to aging eyes, I often sew by hand for smaller jobs, or use the thread already in the needle, if I can get away with it; just to avoid having to re-thread the needle. THANK YOU!
Thank you for this! I bought a sewing machine 12 years ago and rarely use it so every time i pull it out i have to relearn the whole process and I honestly don't think i would've figured it out without this video!
I see that you posted this video in 2012. Well, it is now 2020, and I thank you very much. I have a Singer Model #7466, and could not follow the written instructions as well as I could follow your video. This led to a lot of frustration, esp in regard to threading the machine. There is nothing like having someone show and explain how to do it! Thanks so much!! Please never delete this video...
I found this video very helpful, I am an experienced trained machinist with an old singer machine but to find these up to date gadgets especially the threader is a great help.
I just want to personally thank you so so much for this video. This was really all I needed to learn to get my wig making business launched. I am sewing up a beautiful one now! Thanks again. You’re a gem!💜
I can tell your a sewing machine demonstrator ,I use to be one also many years ago . Your demonstration is very clear and easy to understand Well done you
I love this video, thanks is slow very gently and very practical, perfect for a person like my that don't know anything about sewing's machines and the English is not their fist languages. Thank you very much, the video very helps me.
Thank you so much for sharing! Even though I have an older model Singer (7400 series, that I just pulled out of my garage after not using for almost 8 years), I was able to use your video to thread my bobbin (because even though I still had the users guide DVD 📀, it was severely scratched and would skip right through this step)! I’m so thrilled that I can actually use my sewing machine after it sitting for almost 10 years! Singer sure makes good products, so thanks to the both of you! xoxo Brittany Erin
This video has been essential in my beginning to sew. Thank you! I've had to review it again after some time, and now again to see how to properly adjust stitch length and tension. Thank you very much!
Thank you.... I've been so busy this past month with other things I have not start to do anything ..... My Granddaughter told me to You Tube... So I have and I'm ready to start my first love SEWING...... Thanks again Sandra
Thank goodness, because the instructions were driving me nuts. Thanks for the video. I finally got this thing threaded after owning this machine for six years and not doing anything, but playing with the bobbin winder!
Thank you so much for this introduction to my Singer machine. i got it for christmas 2 years ago, havent touched it. Today i finally felt ready and got the time, and saw your video and felt soo motivated! the usermanual will also be used, but it was easier to watch your video
What a fabulous video; u explained so thoroughly and easy to follow you. Send some more videos! I enjoy shopping in your store and dealing with all family members! Thank you
Thank you. My Nana was a sewer and was teaching me over the years how to sew but she just passed away last October and now I’m finally working on some sewing projects, she wasn’t here to help me figure it out when I unthreaded my needle or ran out of the bottom bobbin. This video was super helpful. Thanks again. ❤️
Wow what a great video. A shame some of the close-ups are blurry. I just bought a newer version of this machine. Things are very different from the last machine I used over twenty years ago that was already 40 years old then. THANKS for taking the time to make this tutorial. You have made my life easier. :e)
When you are sewing by hand, you only use one thread. However, when you are sewing by machine, there are 2 threads, you have you upper thread, which is on top of the fabric, and then you have your bobbin thread, which is underneath the fabric. When the needle goes down into the fabric, it creates a knot and that is how the 2 threads stay connected.
Sofie, the first thing I would try is make sure that you don't have your buttonhole lever down. That is the white lever right behind the automatic needle threader. Pull it all the way down, and then push it all the way up. The 2nd thing I would try is to make sure that you don't have the bobbin rewind on. Make sure that the spool pin that you put your bobbin on to rewind is pushed all the way over to the left. If you're still having trouble, at this point we would need to see the machine.
Please add more steps on how to use the different thread designs (for hems, creative, etc) for the Singer Confidence 7470. Seeking hem that doesn't show, etc..
OMG, I bought this machine a few years ago. The manual was useless. I could never thread the machine, so I never used it. Thank you so much. Don't know why I didn't search for a video.
You can take the metal needle plate off the machine the way the instruction books shows you when cleaning out the machine. If you can see the needle, either straight away or by tipping the machine, you can usually pull them out with a pair of tweezers.
Bought this machine and had problems with it until you showed me how to properly thread my machine. Now having problems (they continue) with filling my bobbin. Followed your directions to the letter. All I’m doing is wasting my thread. Using prefilled bobbins.
However, if you don't see the needle, and you can turn the flywheel easily without interference, then the needle has dropped down to the bottom of the machine and is laying on the base, in which case, don't worry about it, because it won't hurt the machine.
Really helpful except that it's so fuzzy that I can't see how you're setting up the bobbin itself. I'm not understanding that part sadly and it would really help to be able to see what you're doing.
i have a new 7470 and i dont understand why i dont get it to work. an error signal is going off but there is nothing on the display to implicate what the problem is. does anyone know what i could do or try?
please help i recently brought this machine and while changing the needle the needle fell inside the bobbin chamber if you know please let me know how to take the needle out thank you
Someone gave me one of these. I guessing cuz it is broken or they didnt know how to fix it. I'm not a novice when it comes to sewing. But figuring out a new (to me) machine without instructions is difficult. The bobbin thread bunches and the top thread keeps breaking... any ideas??????
Top thread breaking - put in a brand new needle. Bobbin thread bunching - take the top thread out of the machine. Make sure your presser foot is up and that your needle is in the highest position, and rethread the top thread.
Mine turns on and has power but it doesn't start. The motor runs when I hit the pedal but the needle and the bobbin don't move. What could be wrong with it and how can I fix it.
Put in a brand new needle, as needles get dull, they get burrs, they get bent, and then they don't work well. If that doesn't solve the issue, then you may have a timing problem, in which case you'd need to take it to your local sewing machine repair center to have it fixed.
Put a new needle in first. Needles can get dull, burrs, or bent, and will not bring up the bobbin thread. If that doesn't solve it, it may be a mechanical issue of timing, in which case you would need to take it to a repair shop to have it fixed.
This is so blurry, I have tried threading the need a thousand times and still can’t get it. The thread doesn’t latch on to anything once the needle is between the two prongs. It’s so frustrating
I didn't get my thread around the take up lever correctly and got it wound around the axle for the take up! Had to remove the side cover and with a beading needle and an Exacto, unwound all that thread! Took me most of an hour, and I'm pretty sure there is still a little thread left on the axle : ( What a mess! Super careful now EVERY TIME!

This is the best tutorial for threading this machine, thank you!
Glad it helped!
Excellent tutorial. My thread was bunching so I clearly did not tread my machine properly!! Thanks.. all working now. Clear, slow and precise!!!!

Thank goodness, because the instructions were driving me nuts. Thanks for the video. I finally got this thing threaded after owning this machine for six years and not doing anything, but playing with the bobbin winder!

Thank you so much for your great explanation! I'm a beginner and today I got this machine as a gift :)
Thank you SO much for this invaluable video. For the life of me I could NOT figure out how to use the threader part.
It would be helpful if the needle threader was in Close Up, I still havnt managed to sort it, I just thread it by hand
"It looks kind of sloppy" perfect description of the camera work.
me and my mom are sitting down watching this to help us prepare for sewing my Star Wars Scout trooper armour. thank you!

Fantastic video! It helped me get started much easier than the manual did. Thank you!!
Thank you for the tutorial! I got everything in working order
Great Emily, glad to hear!

Thank you! This tutorial helped me thread my machine! Now I can make my fursuit! Thanks!
Thank you for this video. So much easier to understand than the instructions with the machine.
These are great, but very blurry. My bad eyes are having a hard time, but I still really appreciate the videos!
blurry but good instructions

so wish this video was sharp in the details ... :(
You can take the metal needle plate off the machine the way the instruction books shows you when cleaning out the machine. If you can see the needle, either straight away or by tipping the machine, you can usually pull them out with a pair of tweezers.
Verbal instruction was very helpful although the video blurred just as the automatic threader was loading, which is the part I needed to see.
Thanks for that.. My instruction manual wasn't very clear. This is great
Just bought this new machine! But I can’t seem to thread it so that the top sewing looks good, but the bottom under fabric looks right! What do I do??
Thank you, it's very Well explained. I will Remember the letter "P" :^)
Glad it helped Lillian!
Thanks for the tutorial! When trying to thread my needle my lever will not turn towards the needle. Is it locked somehow?
Super excited I found this! thank you!!
Thank you for the clear instructions - very helpful.
McAwesome!
Thanks for the info.
Happy sewing!👍💓

Spookysugar, first thing I would check is to make sure that you don't have your bobbin rewind on. Make sure it is pushed over all the way to the left.
you explain everything so well!

thank you from germany. now i understood. but whay there are a upper and lower thread? thought one would be enough. yes, i´m a beginner....
Thanks for this useful explanation :)
Amazing video helped so much !!! but it’s impossible to see anything.
Brilliant thank you ❤
Glad it helped!
Absolutely brilliant thank you so much x x
Fantastic! Thank you so much!
Am trying to download the video here but I can't
We're glad that helped!
How do you replace a needle in Sanger
Thank You. Nice video.
Really helpful except that it's so fuzzy that I can't see how you're setting up the bobbin itself. I'm not understanding that part sadly and it would really help to be able to see what you're doing.
My singer is given headache 😫 ,I don't know what to do can you help me out I will send a video now
If you're having issues with your machine, I would recommend taking it to your local service center so they can check it out for you.
@@HayesSewingMachineCo thanks you
I have this machine and can't get the bobbin to fill. I keep getting error code 88

Do you need glasses
Preciso saber o que vc fala,não sei colocar a linha corretamente
why would my bobbin Looks like train tracks I can't seem to straighten it out
would be great if it was in focus?
My Singer confidence 7463 sewing machine suddenly the needle doesn't pick up bobbin threat how I fix it?
Put in a brand new needle, as needles get dull, they get burrs, they get bent, and then they don't work well. If that doesn't solve the issue, then you may have a timing problem, in which case you'd need to take it to your local sewing machine repair center to have it fixed.
I can't get my bobbin to thread. When I try and sew with it. It's not catching the bobbin
Put a new needle in first. Needles can get dull, burrs, or bent, and will not bring up the bobbin thread. If that doesn't solve it, it may be a mechanical issue of timing, in which case you would need to take it to a repair shop to have it fixed.
Thanks tried everything going to contact the company. Feed dogs not going up either. Only got it yesterday x
Thank youuuuuu!
horrible blurry but it did the job
what type of singer bobbin does this take?
This takes a Japanese 15J class type bobbin
Thank You for your quick response HSM
The plastic see thru ones, I tried the metal one on my other machine and it just wouldn't wind the bobbin,
It says Singer on the packet
This is so blurry, I have tried threading the need a thousand times and still can’t get it.
The thread doesn’t latch on to anything once the needle is between the two prongs. It’s so frustrating
Try putting in a new needle as if it's dull or bent, the threader won't work properly.

I found this video very blurry, sorry
clear explanation very helpful!!!! but the video is slightly unfocused
I can't see a thing at 9:50
My machine keeps beeping at me I dont understand
It could be that your presser foot is up, or your buttonhole lever is down, or your bobbin rewind is engaged. All of that can make your machine beep.
@@HayesSewingMachineCo thank you! I will try again
