Welcome back to my channel, it’s so good to see you again! This week we are getting ready to celebrate the Summer Solstice (or Litha) here in the Northern Hemisphere. In Derbyshire at the moment it does not feel at all summery - but we can still celebrate the joy and abundance in our lives and be thankful for all that we have.
I have tried to make my altar as warm and bright as I can, to remind me of the warmth and brightness that lights up my life, especially when I have difficult days, like we all do. I also like to keep in mind that nothing is forever, and the Wheel is ever turning.
Thank you for being one of the blessings in my life. I am so, so glad that you are here.

I have the Yule Seasons of the Witch oracle deck and highly recommended it. I love that it incorporates the darkness of winter in winter hues, but also gives very positive messages. The energy surrounding this deck has a good, positive feel to it. My next one will be the Samhain deck! Marcy❤❤

I watched your video from your visit to the lost cauldron. I went to my local witchy shop here in the US yesterday and they had the same incense you bought in that video. I was surprised they had it. I bought some and it smells amazing. Love your altar

I have all the SOTW oracle decks and I love them! My favourites are Imbolc and Mabon but they are all lovely. I should be receiving Lammas soon and I can’t wait for Ostara.

lovely! that green man statue is gorgeous. this year for summer i’m finally taking full care of my houseplants and herbs, spiritually and all! 😊 i’ve learned so much in the past month, and have goals for next year planting as well! i want to start making some food from home

Love your altar, thank you! I may shamelessly steal some ideas - some flowers and herbs from the garden would be nice, along with a couple of Tarot cards. I normally make something like a loaf or biscuits but will probably have to do them the day before due to life stuff etc; but I'll also be giving thanks for all we have. Great vlog as usual..your altar is so lovely..like you I celebrate some of the years festivals. Only the ones I relate to...I love the darker days and nights so samhan yule are so important to me...I have 3 altars in my home but my main one is dedicated to samhain and yule..your altar is so beautiful...
Thank you so much Julie, I am so glad you liked it. I definitely think that you get most joy out of making altars if you only do what really resonates with you because otherwise it becomes a chore. But I will admit I am already planning my Samhain altar and decorations…I just can’t wait! 🎃💀🧙🪦

Hi Alison! Beautiful video and what a lovely altar, full of wonderful things to celebrate summer solstice. Blue is definitely your colour, the top you're wearing looks great and like a summer sky. Your green man is identical to the one i have hanging above my bureau. It was my grannys bureau, over 100 yrs old and use it to house many of my magickal tools. The lift down writing desk will be my solstice altar as my green man hangs above overseeing everything. Yes! 👍Citrine is the same as amethyst. I have jewellery made from Ametrine, which is literally one stone that is half citrine and half amethyst. Love the crochet sunflower brooch, you did a great job creating that. I noticed the hypericum flowering in my garden today so i will definitely be cutting some of that to go on my altar. Blessings to you and to everyone in this wonderful community ❤ x

Lovely video I crochet and your sunflower is lovely. I am curious why do you think the antlers were not naturally shed is it because of the end of them? If that makes sense. I do have other seasons of the witch Beltane and my favourite Samhain I have not got your one yet it looks lovely x

Hello Alison I love your altar, it's beautiful and has such warmth and vibrancy! I'd like to ask a question please. When setting out an altar and placing items in the north, south, east and west positions, do you need a compass to find these positions in the geographical sense or is it more to do with how the items look to the eye on the altar itself. I hope that makes sense, thank you so much.
That's so kind Tracey, thank you! As far as the directions go, that's a great question! When I am creating Sacred Space outside, I always use the actual directions according to a compass (well actually I use my Witchy Weathervane which is set according to the compass points). When I'm setting up an altar indoors, I am not quite as picky and I will just say that North is directly at the top of the altar, for example. I think as long as you are clear about your intent when you are setting your altar up, it's all good. I hope this helps! 🌻

I love your altar. I just got the Litha deck as well because I realized I don't have many 'summer' type decks. It is lovely, but I haven't yet worked it into my regular practice.

For 50 yrs was born again christian, then I saw the light.

I have several hawthorn trees on my farm I try to visit daily,they cleanse my spirit.

Hello Colleen,
You are anything you want to be and you do not have to define yourself if you don’t want to! You can absolutely be a Witch and Pagan - I would be willing to bet that most of us sit under that particular umbrella. Paganism is any belief which sits outside the ‘accepted’ belief systems. I know it’s all a bit overwhelming. Spend some time with your beautiful hawthorns just letting yourself ‘be.’ You are going to be absolutely fine and this lovely little community will support you, I’m sure xxx
I love the little embroidered bee sitting on your altar. I do embroidery & one of the kits in my craft box is a bee. 🐝 He'll be a challenge since I'm supposed to stitch on tiny gold beads in among the flowers on his wings & bead detailing is completely new to me. I'll think of you when I start work on him!
