Ha ha, both the old Durga and I suffered that day, Fil! Thanks a bunch, buddy, I am looking forward to do some more of these, but at the moment the weather is actually too hot, he he...
Thanks Dom! Yeah, you know I like to watch these, so finally I get to contribute with something... Yes, I seem to have made it so that I also need to climb the damned hill for each car that does the challenge, I might get skinny after this summer!
I like it Mads! This is a great idea and the scoring system is ingenious! The DF03 smashed it like I knew it would! Very enjoyable to watch so I look forward to the next one. Cheers! 🍻😎👍
Thanks Mark! Yeah, I designed the scoring system after only had an 8th scale buggy run it for a test run, that gave me some nice points in plus. So bit of a bummer to have such a low score on the Durga, maybe I have to give it another chance after all. The DF-03 was smooth as always and handled the rough very nicely. I still haven't shot another episode yet, it's heatwave here right now, I haven't managed to go. I watch your TT-02 rally videos every day, I finally managed to start rebuild the 2023 speedrun TT-02 as rally car, it looks to be great so far...
Thanks Addam, yeah, let's see if I get skinny by the end of the summer, ha ha! (I hope not) Both buggies did surprisingly well on the nasty rocks, definitely lost a couple seconds due to road hazards. But the radio issue on the Durga was just such a bummer, it started to drive by itself already as I started to walk up the hill, first time I had this happen on a modern radio system.
Thanks Jeremy! Yeah, I wanted to make a track and do similar to what you do, but then I started thinking of this, and finally found me a decent hill for the purpose, not too far from home... It was windy that day, but "Windy Hill Raceway" was already taken, so I need to find some other name, ha ha!
You're right about that, Peter, it's a nasty hill for sure! More cars will suffer, and I will definitely get my share of suffering also. For now, I am taking a break, the weather is a bit too hot for that stuff at the moment, probably also same for you.
That was fun matey, some very original content! The combination of gradient, distance and terrain made it quite a challenge. Sounds like you were having some range issues to..... it's quite bewildering when the cars suddenly start going rogue!! Be interesting to see more episodes with other vehicles Mads. 👍 👍 👍
Thanks James! Yeah, I knew for a year or so that I wanted to try create a hill climb challenge for RC, sort of like on Goodwood Festival of Speed or Pike's Peak, similar thing. Finally I found a good hill, remote enough but still (fairly) near to my home. Bit tough on the 10th scale buggies, I didn't know what to expect with my points system, so both these went in minus points. The radio issue just annoys me. I didn't know what was wrong, and I still didn't figure it out. Makes me begin to doubt which radios to trust. Anyway, I haven't managed to shoot next run yet, it's been heatwave here, so the hill is a bit unrealistic in nasty heat conditions, he he...
Great idea Mads! Looks hard work getting up that hill pal! Those rocks mad it tricky to handle. The bigger RCs will make it easier I think. You need to punch a Mad Bull up there 😎
Thanks Craig! Yeah, you know I love watching this type of stuff, so I had to try something myself. It's a bit of a climb, both for myself and the slightly undersized and underpowered Tamiyas, but once I bring out the big guns the hill will appear less nasty. Yeah, my Mad Bull project isn't ready yet, let's see if I manage this year after all...
Thanks buddy! Yeah, the DF-03 is still one of my favourites, it's so smooth and nice, and it did surprisingly well on that nasty hill... Me neither, at least not in the RC world... But try check Pike's Peak or Goodwood hill climb on RUclips, you might like it.
That's the first time I've seen a Durga put to work like that. Nicely done, Mads.

Interesting event and one heck of a workout too! LOL! Those big stones tripped them up a little but both did well over all!

Nice one Mad’s! Certainly a challenging course to climb!👍😊

Seems like both you and the cars got a good workout Mads😉👍Thank you for sharing and have a great evening!

So cool just got a DF03 great rig and run.. Never heard of a hill climb contest.
