      I’m 57,
      And this is what I grew up on. I grew up in a large financially poor family and this type of weekly entertainment for me as a child was priceless. I miss all these old boys but String i especially miss. Thanks for this video!

    Dad used to wake us up on Sunday morning with Tennessee Ernie Ford's gospel albums. My siblings hated them. I loved them. Ernie had his personal problems with the booze and what not, but, I loved his singing on those old gospel songs.

    I watched this show but never appreciated it as a kid ... probably because I grew up in the mountains of Virginia
    But seeing the USA today ..... I miss these days now

    I always like when the grandpa buck and Kenny price and Roy would do their gospel quartet on the show it was such a good program still always think when I watch these clips it always takes me back to many Saturday nights staying the night with my grandparents and my uncle. My sister and I all sat in the front room and would watch hee haw and it was a show you could watch with your grandparents. They have all gone home now but look forward to that day when I can once again sit in a different front room and just enjoy that time with them again.

    Grandpa Jones, Stringbean, Ernie Ford, Roy Clark, and all the rest on Hee Haw: It just doesn't get better than this. Ernie Ford is my favorite singer and Grandpa Jones was my favorite cast member on Hee Haw.

      The sad thing is on some of the re-runs, they cut this part out.
      What was really beautiful....you could tell these guys were singing from the heart....they believed each and every word they were singing..

    I used to sneak the radio on in my room n listen to the Grand Old Opry with Grandpa Jones ,Ernie Ford , Minnie Pearl and a whole bunch more. On WCKY Cinncinatti 1 ,Ohio ,USA. ❤ that was 64 years ago...old boy...out 😂 I am 76 now, don't sneak the radio under my covers..I got The Samsung Android and no, I dont miss my little Sony tansistor radio. It didnt have RUclips lol❤😂😂 Life is Good

    It came on cbs at 8 pm Saturday night for i think three years then it started coming on at 7. Big Daddy Rabbits at the studio didn't think people wanted to hear or watch such. Hee Haw went into sindecation and 90% of the stations picked it up! Earlier time and less cost! Never missed an episode!!

    Sure did bring back memories of my much younger years n how some of grew up listening to this kinds of music n being taught how to play all those instrument. Was good to hear this old country music n let us ones who moved away from that growing up shows us it really showed us even older u never ever forget how u grew up n how u learned country living beautiful old music to remember forever

    Ernie Ford had on his "Sunday go to church Liberty overalls." Notice that they're heavily starched. My dad wore overalls everywhere. Church, weddings, funerals. It was just the way we lived back then...

    I love eachh one of these men. I also respect each one for all they preserved of other styles of Country and Hill ballads for now and those follow. They are at the top of all others. . . May be there is another couple by them, but in no way is it crowded at the top!

    i've seen this several times and it appears roy is on lead (melody) So i guess why i point it out is with the "normal" quartet that would come later with buck and kenny (and occasionally ernie) roy was on tenor. why the change? could buck not take the tenor part or did he not know some of the songs so teaching him the melody was easiest. i've heard a rumor in recent years the reason elvis turned to rock and roll was cause as good a singer he was he couldn't sing harmony and even as a lead singer you occasionally have to sing baritone or tenor (depending on vocal range) when baritone or tenor is on lead line. don't know if that story is true but considering who i got it from and he's kind of a souther=n gospel hisotry buff i'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
