Josh hit the sweet spot that modern technical masters can't help but fall short of.

Grandpa played in the old, claw hammer, failing style and if you watch him he hits the strings super hard to accentuate parts of a song as well as get the sound out during a live show. Broken strings probably happened regularly for him.
