I could not get the relay out. I tried your technique with my soldering iron, but relay would not loosen. Replaced the board back into the car, but now the fob doesn’t work. I’m disappointed, but I still think your video is good despite my outcome. Thank you for making this video
I am sorry you had problems removing the old relay. It is a very difficult desoldering job because of large copper planes underneath the relay. The copper planes sink a lot of heat away from the soldering tip. Perhaps you could take your board to an electronic repair store and ask them to replace the relay for you. They possibly have some desoldering tools that help during removal of this relay. Good luck to you.
Thank you for your kind words. I watched your video can noticed my soldering iron was not the same as yours. Mine’s not as strong as yours. No apology is necessary. You’re more skilled than me, cuz my friends told me. I know it. Thanks again for the video.
I wish to thank you very much for posting this video. 5 days ago my wife's Lexus RX300 car had the exact same problem on the driver's side and I took it to the Lexus dealer close to my house, and they told me that the whole assembly needs to be replaced and they quoted me $845 for the part & labor. I told them that I would get back to them. I searched on RUclips and found this video, and ordered the part from the link provided. I followed the instructions in the video, and VOW :-) after I put the assembly with the new relay in, it started working like a charm. And it cost me under $50 to do this. So I saved $800 just by following this video. THANKS again.
You are welcome, glad I could help. Please post your success stories or any problems you may have encountered during this repair. This way, you will help others overcome their problems.
Your video is excellent. The details provided are very good. The link to get the relay from Amazon worked perfectly. I replaced it today and fixed the problem. While you can get aftermarket master relay replacement, you can only by OEM for the passenger side and that is north of $700. The other comments refer to slamming the door. I believe the issue is that the relay fails because it gets stuck and slamming or a few hits with your hand can jar the relay loose. A temp fix at best if the window is down in the rain,
Thanks Peter for the good words. You are absolutely right about slamming the doors to fix relays. It may work very temporarily, but to fix it completely, you have to replace the relay. Another note: If you replaced relay in one door only, you may want to replace the other door's relay as well even if it is still working. These relays are obsolete, Panasonic does not make them any more. I don't know how much longer these replacements are going to be available.
In my case NEITHER the passenger-side nor the driver-side switch will raise the passenger-side window which behaved strangely before finally going all the way down and staying there. In its final throes the window only went DOWN, even when the switches called for up. That suggests "a computer is involved" which "sensed" something and made the decision to "stow the window safely, as programmed."
Bike Mike OH Thanks for the video. Very good instructions for how to replace relay. I am waiting on a used replacement module bought on ebay but if that does not work this is the route I will go. I could not seem to find the link at the end of your video. If you have the time to reply with it, I would appreciate it. Thanks again.
You have to be very careful with units you purchase from Ebay. They don't really have a design, the relays are put together with heat shrinks. They are not reliable and there is a chance of short causing fire. Infotech Engineering however has designed the replacement with a circuit board which makes it much more reliable and better looking. Infotech's relay on Amazon has passed all tests for automotive use, on top of that it is more than $10 cheaper than the relay from Ebay. I strongly recommend the relay from Amazon listed above.
My 01 rx300 drivers side window goes all the way up and then opens back up halfway. Anybody know how to repair this? I cant seam to get it to reset how ppl have suggested

Similar experience but found unit/switch on Ebay. The upload helped a lot.
Speaks volumes about the Lexus dealer. They're experts--at taking simple repairs and making them complicated and expensive.
You're saving a lot of people a lot of money. Thank you!

Thanks for the great video. I have fixed my driver and passenger side power windows with the relay that you have recommended.

Same here how do get tha back one up?
@@rashadowens9517 I am afraid this is an indication of a bad relay. You need to replace both front door relays.
Dirty tracks. Spraying WD40 helps.

Having issues with my passenger side and tried this .. thank you !
@@fidelyo123 You’re welcome glad to help someone!
Thought this was a joke…but it got the job done
Very helpful and do appreciate the upload. The instructions are useful even if you buy the unit on Ebay. Thanks.

Please give me the website to order 4 relays.

Good job sir , sounds like your window motor might be going bad as well
Where would I find the specs for the relay switch on another Lexus model ‘05 ES 330?
The only way i know is to get the controller board out, find the relay then write down the number. then look on internet for data sheets.
Sorry about that Mik, I fixed it.
Thank you. Gen Stim
