Easy instruction to follow, ordered 4 myself so I'd have spares...just finished installation and window working great...thanks a million for posting video...saved me a ton of money. Ok, just a quick Thank You to let you know your 3 yr old video continues to help people! This evening I was getting the RX attached to the RV for towing. It takes a while so I wanted to get it ready the night before. After everything was done I went to roll up the windows and it didn't! This was going to put a serious crimp in our winter RV vacation if the driver window didn't roll up! We'd have to leave it behind. Then I thought maybe just maybe somebody has made a video of this and found yours! I cannibalized the relay from the passenger side and was able to roll up the window on the driver side. Will order new relays later. We will head out tomorrow with the RX, thanks to your video! You literally saved the day!

I had many of the problems that others have commented and plus my other errors during the assembly. Overall, this video provides a sufficient amount of information and guidance for a 66 year old to complete this installation. Two more to go.

    Great instructions! Thank you! I have the problem with both driver and passenger side windows. They go down but may not go back up. Lots of clicking the window switch before it will finally get back up. I haven't put either window down in months now until a parking valet let down my window the other day. It took about five minutes of playing with it before it got back up. Whew! Thought I was out of luck this time. I've had the assembly out before and cleaned everything and that worked for a while. I want to try your method. What is the relay part number? Your link does not open to the part to order.

    Because some people don't know what heat shrink is used for. Heat-shrink tubing is a shrinkable plastic tube used to insulate wires, providing abrasion resistance and environmental protection for stranded and solid wire conductors, connections, joints and terminals in electrical work. It can also be used to repair the insulation on wires or to bundle them together, to protect wires or small parts from minor abrasion, and to create cable entry seals, offering environmental sealing protection and are approved for use by UL224-2010 ASTM D 2671. It is a versatile electrical insulator and is inert to most chemicals and solvents. Additionally, it is highly resistant to extreme heat, cold, and Ultraviolet radiation, making it an excellent material for heat-shrink tubing applications.
    Elastomeric tubes maintain high flexibility even at low temperatures and meet stringent international specifications. Their operating temperature range is -75 to 150 °C. The material is resistant to many chemicals (including diesel and petrol) and has good resistance to abrasion, even in severe environmental conditions. A common shrink ratio is 2:1. Polyolefin tubes, the most common kind, [7] have maximum continuous-use temperatures from -55 to 135 °C, and are used by the military, aerospace and railway industries. Because some people don't know what heat shrink is used for.

    • @madpandastudio4781
      @madpandastudio4781 6 лет назад

      Nowrooz I suppose you are speaking of the relay available at Amazon for $28, but that relay is not original equipment. It may or may not have the same characteristics and specifications as the original. The one available on ebay uses the original spec relays and looks better in my opinion. Heat shrink as a cover has nothing to do with solder or not soldered, of course it's soldered, and then covered as it should be, not exposed to the elements prone to shorting with any conductive material that falls on its path. In this case the heat shrunk relay wins again, just saying.

      I'm ill, housebound just now, but there's only one of them, it's flat like a putty blade only stronger and a little wider, sturdier handle. It was in the same rack as the sockets that back off stripped bolt threads or rounded nuts. It's a small hands held, thin blade pry bar. If you have a putty knife I would imagine that's good enough. I did look at their catalogue from home and it didn't appear there that I saw.

      I am referring to the link alex2324 provided. The relay in that link was put together with heat shrinks wich makes it unreliable and could have a potential to cause fire. The relay you are using is the original CR2-12V relay made by Panasonic. Unfortunately, this relay is discontinued and is not in the market any more. There are replacements available on Ebay, but viewers must be careful to read the description and look at all pictures to make sure they purchase a safe relay for their repairs. Nowrooz Shabani, you don't know what you're talking about. What do you think cable insulation is made of? Heat shrink is used all over new cars under the hood, on wires, under the dash, everywhere. Heat shrink tubing is rated for 600V AC at 250°C (480°F). Anyway how do you put a relay together with heat shrink?? LOL!! Do you even know what a relay is or how they work? The relay is an internal mechanical contact triggered by a small momentary 12Vdc voltage coming from a switch. How do you put a relay together with heat shrink? lol!! Nowrooz, do you even know what heat shrink is used for? Apparently you don't.
