  • How to use the standard normal table with probabilities between the mean and positive z values. 8 examples shown, see description for hyperlinked table of contents.
    Corrections:
    1. @1:40, 'the first 2 decimals' should be 'the first 2 digits'. 'The 3rd decimal' should be 'the 3rd digit.'
    2. @7:42 the area between 1.08 and 2.45 = .133.

    seems like you have done a mistake in the calculation of 0.4929-0.3599=0.133

    What if the given is -2.4 greater than or equal to P less than or equal to 2.4

    • @quantquill
      @quantquill  6 месяцев назад

      Because we know the normal distribution is symmetric, and 100% of area is under the curve, find the percent of area between 0 and 2.4 and then double it, since that same area is between 0 and -2.4. Hope that's helpful!

    • @quantquill

      Hi, Soju, it depends on what question you're trying to answer and whether you're using this particular table. For example, if you were asked to find the probability of z > -1, and you're using the table I show in the video, then the easiest way is to look up z at 1. That will give you the area between z = 0 and z = 1. Then, because z is normally distributed, this is the same as the area between -1 and 0. Add 0.5 to that answer, and you have the final answer. The way you have solved P(z > -1) is to add P(-1

      I'm sorry that I'm unable to translate this to Cebuano. You could do a project in your class with your teacher to make a RUclips video for how to use the standard normal probability table.
