I have homed my machine set the work offsets and no matter what I do the Z axis goes all the way up triggering the limit switch and then it just stops. I can’t figure out why
I currently have a workbee with the 2.2kw water cooled spindle and I have more slop than I wish to have. A lot of people in the message boards seem to think that particular spindle is a bit much for the workbee setup. My question is, do you think the queen bee upgrade kit would alleviate this? In your experience. Right now with a 2-inch surfacing bit, I can't get a smooth finish, I'll get an 8-10 thousandths ridge from time to time. I've checked everything I know to check and yes it is trammed, but I've narrowed it down to flex in my gantry. Any tips or pointers you have, I would love to hear.
Hi, I’m having issues with rigidity on the z axis as well so I’m thinking of getting a second mount as well. Let me know if it helps out. I have cnc xpro v5 and after like two weeks of messing with it I eventually got it to work. I love rs-845 it lets me run my controller from my ipad, laptop or phone.
Will do mate, been a bit slack recently due to business being busy. Will get the second mount fitted in next fortnight and report back after a test. Any tips on getting rs485 working? Was doing my head in big time. Then i come across some people saying they just don’t talk to the chinese vsd’s.
@@bennydiesel5413 I’ve been having a hell of a time getting my xpro v5 wired up properly with psu+spindle+vfd. Any chance you can share pictures or video of your wiring setup?
@@bennydiesel5413 hey if you can share it that’d be great. I had previously replied with my email (unformatted) here but looks like that was removed, not sure how I can send it to you but you can find me on FB/Instagram messenger with same name. I would greatly appreciate it.
Greetings, I have a queenbee 1515, when I try to access the wifi of cnc_xpro_v5 it asks me for a password and I don't know what it is. Would it be possible to help me with that?
Hey Hobson, it was a bit of fun building it as the instructions are really vague. A positive is that all of the components and screws etc are labelled so you can fumble your way through the build easily enough. Otherwise i’m happy with the machine. I haven’t been able to get perfect face finishes, but I am a complete newbie to cnc routers, so it’s probably more me than the machine at fault. I’ve also just ordered a second spindle mount to try that as the kit only comes with a single mount. Also i could never get the xpro to talk to the spindle controller over rs485 network. Read a few forums with people having similar issues with the chinese spindle controllers. I just connected it up to the 0-10v control. (Only thing you loose is reverse which i didn’t require)
@@bennydiesel5413 thanks man sound like a good machine. I was worried that the 2.2kw spindle would be too heavy. I'm assuming you haven't had any problems with it twisting the cbeam? A second spindle mount looks like a good idea. Thanks for the reply man 🤙
@@Hobsonguitars not at all man, i’ve done some pretty big fails and full sent it through 5mm plate and it has just ate it then broken the bits. The structure is pretty solid!
Thanks for showing how the whole process works. I love watching a cnc in action, nice finish.

You should consider adding a second spindle support.
