    the actors list in a video game in unprecedented. Here are all the names: Garry oldmand (1 oscar for best actor), for sure, gillian anderson ( scully hehe), mark hammil (Luke skywalker), Henry cavil ( Superman, witcher), MArk strong (Sinestro in Green Lantern (2011), mob boss Frank D'Amico in Kick-Ass (2010), and Lord Blackwood in Sherlock Holmes (2009)) but he did a lot of movies since the 80's, Liam Cunningham (sir davos in game of thrones), Andy serkis ( Gollum in lord of the ring) and he voiced almost 100 other characters for animated movies and they have many more i cannot list them all there is almost 30 knowned actors that played in popular movies or tv shows that will play in SQ42.. They spent 60 millions of the game budget just for actors.

    SQ42 does have difficulty levels, they have mentioned that they can tune the AI specifically for that purpose in Monthly reports. They specifically wanted to have that control to allow for different levels of challenge, which also translates into the PU with different levels of difficulties in missions.

      In theory, at least - and I imagine mission difficulty in PU will be based on location, rep and such rather than a game setting.

      @@FunkThompson Actually the difficulty will come from other players and npc's not having fixed skill sets. So in one encounter, you could run into noob NPC's and Veterans. Rather than just being bullet sponges as the NPC progresses it will be behavioral, as well better weapons and armor. It will be interesting to see how well pull they it off

      @@RichGallant Tbf, the other part of the idea is that the rewards will be proportional to the risk / challenge, so vets wouldn't USUALLY bother taking missions against rookies or rookie-level threats. Rewards to meager to be worth the time, especially in SC where it takes real time to get to places. So not matchmaking, no, but...curating.

    Sure, you can see each other like in real life. Stand in your tiny Aurora ship and show someone passing you by the bad finger and he will see it ^^ And with "I held the line" is meant of course the old backers/supporter of the loooong and sometimes painfull slow development process or never have given up the hope into this project. And like we have seen, it was worth the time. Greetings from the Czech Republic.

      Yes, I agree with you. Star citizen is an amazing game, and things are finally coming together with it. The game is full of bugs, and it’s horribly mismanaged, but it’s gonna be amazing when we get there!

    Romance options seem unlikely for SQ42, mostly because your SQ42 character is meant to become your Star Citizen character, and Star Citizen being an MMO, it'd be...impractical having those romance characters actively dating like millions of people. So if there are romance options in SQ42, they probably ultimately die, disappear, leave, or continue in the the military or wherever separate from you by the end of SQ42.

    There are, lot of big names actor on SQ42, just to name a few,: Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson ( from xfiles), Henry Cavill, John Rhys-Davies ( gimli from LoTR),
    Liam Cunningham ( davos from GoT) and so on.

    I love how you know so much sci-fi stuff, and movies from the 90s, makes it so much nicer to watch your reaction to nerdy stuff, and this game is definitely a go for me.

      Games deserve the time being spent on them. We have too many games these days being pushed out before they are ready because publishers want their big fat paychecks and then the games normally bomb and need years worth of updates to get to where they should be. CIG has made the right choice not to announce release dates or push it out early and from what we can all clearly see now, the wait will definitely be worth it.

    Squadron 42 is set in the same open world / universe as Star Citizen. It is not an 'on rails' type game.
    HUD = Heads up display. You have one in your helmet.
    MFD = Multi-function Display - the display screens in your cockpit and screens around the game.
    In the Star Citizen Live Squadron 42 Q&A in 2018 Chris confirmed there would be varying difficulty levels to choose from.
    You will be given mission objectives with your wingmen, if you don't complete the objectives your wingmen can, the story will progress. There is a military simulator in the game, you will be practising a lot in the simulator. You will be going to the naval flight academy in the Kilian system to train. You don't have to do everything 'guns blazing', there are multiple routes and multiple methods to achieve the objectives. It is as much a puzzle game as it is a combat game. No two players will have the same experience of Squadron 42 because the game has so many options and the game AI reacts to your choices. 43:49 "We want you to not only decide how you play the game.."
    The cursing? The insults? It's appropriate for the place and the factions, some are going to be shocked.

    I backed this at the start, its nice to see some progress, have a look at the Star Engine Demo see what else it can do. Even space is a playable area in the open verse, just dont drift off, nobody will ever find you, And my fav out of the cast is Craig Fairbrass as one of the villains, You oftern find him in britsh gangster films(Pat Tate in Rise Of The Foot Soldier) and have a look at the older SQ42 Trailers see if you can spot him and Superman 😊

    Don't worry there will be Star Tinder for you to swipe through the character creations of the people to find your personal pilot. 😄
    But on a serious note, there are many multi crew ships, there will be a demand for crew any ways.

    Cyberpunk took 9yrs. - Starfield took 8 and these are AAA studios with I,000 + employees. CIG/Star Citizen/SQ 42 started with like 9 people in a basement and worked their way up to over I,000 + employees here lately. Now Compare what Starfield looks like and gameplay to SC/SQ 42. Starengine was built from the Cryengine, but CIG modified it so much it's not the same engine anymore. No shareholders pushing for early release to get their investment back. That should tell you all you need to know.

    There will be no difficulty level (thanks god) but there will be safe areas, very safe areas, and very dangerous area (on a wider spectrum ofc).
    So, if you wana enjoy fishing, just stay in UEE space, and you're good.
    I guess, spaceships can do submarines alright.

    I believe they did an interview with Gary Oldman and they asked about this game and he said he had indeed forgot he was in it.

      Ironically, Oldman also originally said -- after they interviewed him shortly after finishing this shoot -- that Chris Roberts was basically the George Lucas of gaming. It's funny in some ways that it took ten years, but people are now kind of seeing the fruits of their labour and the purpose of his vision.

    With the amount of top notch film stars just screams no compromise and the level of detail has also gone down that same root.
    So long as they they keep that same level with story and gameplay they will have a winner on there hands.
    It is so nice to watch someone comment on its background from the StarCitizen.
    But saying that i found it strange you did not know they were Vandool at the end there mask and ships are in SC.😂

      I've been playing SC casually for a while now but I've never seen those aliens at the end of the video before today! Excited to learn more about them! 😀 (For context, it seems a lot of stuff in SC is discoverable via the website but I havent been on there much except for when I bout my Cutter starter pack. I only know what I've see in-game while playing and a few of these official videos when chat recommends I check them out.)

    Pedro Camacho is the comoser behind most star citizen Music, hes a music sound score genius.
    Imagine Genius Game devs, revolutionary gaming tech, genius composers, oscar awarded actors, cutting edge graphics and Chis Robert who have his series wing commander intagrated in the Gaming hall of fames because he revolutionized the cinematic and graphics in gaming industry back in the 90's And also one of longest developpement time that let the time to dev to work like they want and the biggest budget in history of gaming... this ganna be something very very very spacial... i wanted to say special lol.

    36:21 A little explanation. The main character's face is a randomly generated face. At the very beginning of the video, 4 different people were shown writing a message to the mother - this is the main character of different genders. To demonstrate the video, they took a male hero with a created face, i.e. this is not a real actor, but a procedural one. But the facial animation and voice of a real mo-cap actor.

      @@joshuam.6027 Officially, there are 2 genders in the game - a man and a woman with appropriate dialogues and voices. In this video, 4 variants of the main character were shown - 2 women and 2 men - all of them have a procedural appearance, two of which were made by Sean Tracy on the citizen con itself. At the same time, no one forbids a woman to attach a beard in the editor, i.e. you can pervert yourself as you want, just like it was can in Baldurs Gate 3 - everything is included and it's your right, but in the game itself everything will be classic and this approach is normal - it's better than to redo the whole game for the needs of non-binary ones, as it was in Starfield, where we could change the pronouns of the character..
      Thank God that Star Citizen is a private game not a publishing one like Starfield, and no intrusive bullshit is imposed on us)

    The core gameplay in Star Citizen is Space fight and Exploration. But the solar system will be divided into High Security, Low Security and Lawless, so there will be places you can go and sail your boat ;)

    The Persistent Universe is an open world but risk is always a thing so being able to escape, at the very least, is important. Think that you’re always living in a neighbourhood with some level of shady, but you don’t need to be a fighter. Boats are kind of new though. Not sure how often their use comes into play. Best think of your spaceships as the submarines and boats. 890j is practically a cruise liner.

    Sadly some of the actors will die before S42 comes out. I mean we are just now in polish phase. By the high Standarts of this project, it will take easy 2 years. And only then we go to optimization phase. Which will take easily 1 or two years. Than it's just the first of three single player games. So sadly I feel Mark Hamill will not see the 3rd part. It's a shame...

    Holding the line is a medieval reference from a battle line, or shield wall, when the enemy rush's u, you hold.
    in SQD 42 terms this is about being a backer and not giving up on the project or losing faith, you held the line while others turned there back and fled (got refunds ect)
    there is a conversation about 22:59 where the guy talks about waiting another 2 years to get into the flight academy, you will notice the camera pans up to a sign with red numbers, that is the date 31's of Dec 2020.

    10:50 there isn't any confirmed underwater gameplay, however there have been a few things on the roadmap having to do with underwater visuals, so CiG is at the very least thinking about it.

    I like to compare SC more to The Expanse than Trek, I'm a fan of both though. I WISH for a Trek game with the fidelity of SC.

    "I held the line" refers to the start where your character mentions that about an hour previously sensors had been triggered on the other side of a jump point to the Vega system the fleet was in.
    Bishop tells the fleet that they'll be able to say they held the line. Either they mean from pirate attack (unlikely pirates would attack a huge military fleet) or alien invasion.
    In the middle of the trailer, it looked like a junior officer was discussing something she couldn't control and another said she wasn't alone. It's like they were both dealing with PTSD as they were still in flightsuits or armor.

      both are true. The speech in the game refers to holding the line in the battle vs the vanduul and at the end Chris Roberts is referring to backers holding the line for 11 years while the game is in development

      Just point out that the person talking to the junior officer was the player-character. Another way to tell other than remembering the custom face they used earlier is that it's the same voice used for the main character in the Vertical Slice in 2018.

    When graphics or models get too close to realistic there is an effect called uncanny valley. Basically, they become unnerving if not outright terrifying, and you really can't put your finger on as to why they just are. Also, there is an audio desync so the words don't match the mouth, and that is also unnerving.

      Fun fact: The Uncanny Valley is a phenomenon that every human experiences universally. It's not taught or developed, which leads many people to believe that it's something we've developed as a genetic trait essential for our survival.
      So the question then becomes: What happened to humanity so long ago that required us to be weary of things that looked human but weren't quite human?

    Desynch is mostly du to servers being iverloaded in star Citizen. Since sq42 is solo there is no server issues hehe. And they showed a working demo of server meshing at citizencon. so pyro is comming in a new test server on october 31. Once server meshing is fully in and live there will be no more limits of the number of players, object theyc an put in the game because they can split the games into hundreds of servers with seamless transition its like you are in the same server but in the back end the server has change and each server exchange infomation between each other in real time like if it was 1 giant server but in reality is hundreds of small server interconected... thats is also another genius tech that did not exist before in gaming but CIg created it :) It was long but they finally did it.
