We're looking at a 1960 Chrysler New Yorker Convertible in Sheffield Silver Metallic Paint. The car is equipped with a 413 CI V8 engine, with an automatic transmission.
The car's Owner is Brad Paulson. Brad’s had this car since 2003. Brad shares he’s always like Chrysler’s from 1960-1970 and when he saw this one he thought this would be a fun car to have.

Thanks for posting Lou. Another excellent example of a Virgil Exner design. You know the '60 & '61 Chrysler and Desoto were very, very similar. Nearly identical. The biggest difference is the front grille. Thanks again for posting Lou! have a blessed day!
You're welcome Gerry. Thanks for sharing. Blessings received. God bless you today too. Lou
The attention to detail on this Chrysler set a very high bar that other companies never reached. A masterpiece without a lot of Exner excess. Can’t decide what I like best: boomerang taillights, front grille, domed speedo and gauges, radio presets displaying frequencies, swivel seat, push button transmission, stylized door panels, etc.
Hi Dr Akbar, Happy to read the details you notice and like with this car :-) Lou
The domed speedo is my favourite feature.
Virgil Exner at HIS best? Absolutely beautiful!

I remember looking at the 1960 Chrysler's new in the showroom in the fall of 1959. The 1960 Chrysler's were outstanding in styling. The car presented is an outstanding example
Happy to read this car brings back good memories of when you seen them in the showroom. Glad to read this is an "outstanding example".
Thank you Lou, and thank you Brad for sharing your beautiful Chrysler!
Hi Mikey B., Happy to read you enjoy this "beautiful Chrysler!" :-) You're welcome, Lou
Beautiful and rare ‘60 NYer convertible - 1 of only 556 produced. For specifically the Chrysler marque, New Yorker was its luxury model on the longer 126” wheelbase, powered by the 413 wedge producing 350 hp. Brad does a beautiful job restoring all his later Virgil Exner era finned Mopars! Thanks for the video.
Hi Noel, Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You're welcome, Lou
A classic definition of an Exner "Bankers" Hot Rod. Brad's Car is an excellent example. Thanks Lou.
Hi CJ Design, Happy to share this "excellent example" with you :-) You're welcome, Lou

My Aunt and Uncle had a new 1960 Chrysler New Yorker Convertible. It was the wildest car I'd ever seen when they drove up in their new all White Convertible Spaceship.❤
Hi RJ A, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Aunt & Uncles car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
my favorite 1960 car gorgeous
Hi Stan, Happy to read this is a favorite of yours :-) Lou
Love it! The 1960 Chrysler is one of Virgil Exner's finest designs! Love the chrome hash marks after the rear wheel opening. The mighty 413 V8 and Torqueflite, and the Space Command interior, with the space bubble "Astro Dome" instrument cluster; and the cosmic boomerang tail lights!
Hi Dejael, Happy to read "Love it!" :-) My pleasure sharing this car with you, Lou
I'm from New Zealand. When I was a kid my family were Chrysler fans. The only difference between our cars and US cars was the steering wheel was on the right because we drove on the left side of the road.
My car was a 1958 Plymouth Savoy with a 318 V8.
My parents both owned 1961 Dodge Pioneers and a 1964 Plymouth Fury.
My younger brother drove a 1961 Plymouth.
Little America in New Zealand.
Love this New Yorker.
Beautiful.
Hi Loose Unit, Happy to read this car brings back memories of you and your Parents cars :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Stunning Chrysler! And I'm a big fan of the optional trunklid that people refer to as a bathroom fixture but I'm not going to say it. Thank you gentlemen for this feature - she's a beauty.
Hi Bruce H., Happy to read "Stunning Chrysler!" :-) You're welcome, Lou

LOL…WE SHOULD HAVE THEM TODAY …I had a custom van with them, and I LOVED ❤️ IT
It is the right way to get in and out of a car according to back specialists, swivel your legs out then stand up, vice verse getting in
Hi Budget Audiophile Life-long, Happy to read this brings back memories of your Van seats, Lou

Boy oh boy Lou, Mopar was really something back in the day...
You're right Robfmas...
This was the top of the line Chrysler, beside the sport model, the mighty 300-F, both expensive "gentleman's hot rods"!

....I like cartoons :-)
Nice😀

Hi Juan, Happy to read you enjoy this "treasure" :-) Lou
I'm wondering how rare that color combination is. The silver is really impressive on this car. Nice
Happy to read "The silver is really impressive on this car." :-) Glad you like it.
Silver is standout sophisticated. I did my best to take an Astrodome out of a junked ‘62 with just a leather man back in ‘95.
Thanks for viewing and sharing.
Oh! The huge-fin-ity !!
NICE!
By 1960 the big old fins were getting outdated…. But jeez that is still one fine car!
"But jeez that is still one fine car!" I agree.
The "Sport Deck" faux rear tire on the rear deck lid was popularly disrespected as the "toilet seat". It was unfortunately a design feature by Virgil Exner that did not go over well with the public. Some people like me love it, some hate it. It was also offered on the 1960 Plymouth Fury and Dodge Polara.
You're right.
First class car right there too bad it wasn't night time to feature the best feature the dash lit up
Hi Larry, Happy to share this "First class car" with you :-) Lou
👀...👍💯😎💯👍
:-)
Chryslers of that era had the most fantastic interiors. What's the first rule of interior design? You can't have too much chrome!!!
Happy to read you enjoy the interior of this car :-)
That's a comfortable fit for the hubcap on the toilet seat! f
Thanks for viewing and sharing what you notice.
What show is this? looks like a great collection of Chrysler luxury.

First year of unibody for Chrysler.
Thanks for viewing and sharing.
More reliability, safety, better gas mileage, blah, blah, blah. I miss the cars' individuality and design from the mid-50s to the late 60s.
Hi armadillotoe, Good news! You're on the right RUclips Channel for the cars you enjoy, Lou
