There's a name for the kind of lighting on the reference photo, is called "butterfly lighting". It's very useful to know the basic different kinds of photography lighting for finding good references. The portrait turned out amazing !
I must tell you that your videos are amazing. Some of the tips you give are going to make it so much easier to start. I love the watercolor and pencil technique. Just recently became a patreon subscriber. Your my only one, and haven't even purchased paint or supplies yet. Your addition of links to these things give me total confidence that I am getting great quality items to work with. Avoiding the hit and miss technique. Once again thank you so much, you are an amazing artist and teacher. Rare to be so good at both.
I painted a picture of my mother with the techniques in the video and she really liked it I kinda used Crayola pencils so it was less smooth but the art still turned out great!
Lioba ::: I have followed your videos for a while and for me ... this style is YOU ..the watercolour and colour pencils. it just glows with your technique and I can feel the expressive way you feel when you work..have you considered doing a series of a character in this style that forms a story. One of your girls in scenes around her. That would be magical to see each week :: thank you for sharing these lovely art works with us ... Merry Christmas 🧚♀️
Just so you know, usually you can find the Komorebi watercolor palette (with 40 colors) under these Amazon links ( US / DE): amzn.to/2Mc1CIu / amzn.to/2YXgMmv But currently, I can't find my favorite palette anymore! That's really weird....🤔 I hope that gets resolved soon!
I know your comment here is older, but after I purchased them, I saw that amazon wasnt showing them anymore. Im pretty sure they wanted to promote their own "cheaper" watercolor palette at that time. I didnt worry that much about it bc the palette is still almost new-looking and no colors are empty, but after a friend asked me for recommendations, I checked again and currently it seems like its back in stock. I hope they will stay there for a while ^^`
Have you ever tried prismacolor pencils for your technique? They are wax based too, but a lot cheaper than the luminance pencils. Would be interesting to know if they worked just as well...
I own prismacolors, caran dache, faber castell, and blick pencils, and there is nothing like caran dache pencils. they are the best for drawing skin. some of my caran dache's cost 5$ per pencil and still worth every penny
Bonjour, j’aimerai avec la traduction en français de vos tutos, comment je peux procéder ? Je vous trouve super et vos œuvres sont de vrais merveilles !! Merci

@@SvalaArt I think you'll be very satisfied 😅
Ghostley Accursed Yes, Caran d’Ache are lovely pencils!
@@marsbeads I feel like they have more natural colors so they let me get accurate tones without having to blend so many different pencils

I have no idea how you can layer so many colors and it looks so good. Sometimes when I put down one layer the skin is already too dark lmao

I think your name is pretty.
Everything is covered by the hand, you can't see anything
I thought the reference was going to be Taylor Swift
