I just picked up these HyperX Cloud Alpha's and they are amazing. This is the first time i am using any HyperX Headset. My previous headsets have beeen Steelseries SIberia V2 NaVi Edition. The Razer Blacksharks 2.0 and the Logitech G633's. Logitech's and Razer's have their own nice feautures but overall out of those 3 mentioned headsets i prefered the Steelseries V2 (which is pretty old by now) HyperX Cloud Alpha's is by far. And i mean by very far. The best headset i have ever had. I got them today. I tested CS and PUBG and Music and A Movie. I mean gg... Also i like this Company. They are kinda Honset and they don't go like "Our headset is all this!" And then it's not. This headset is all of what they say and even more. Razer advertise their products to be amazing, but ye whatever. I don't like Razer headsets. I was very very dissapointed with Logitech when i tried the G633's. I really like Logitech as a company i have a Logitech Mouse and Keyboard, so i expected their headset to be amazing. It was Good - Fine. But far from Amazing in terms of Comfort and sound quality. The fabric on the ear pads is absolute trash and i hate it. HyperX Cloud Alpha are amazing. Best headset and i recommend them to all gamers. Also to people who say that "They don't have 7.1" To you i say: My dear friend. You have no idea that you have been brainwashed. 7.1 in a 2 driver headset is a scam. It runs through software and it is really really bad. See the thing you think you get with virtual 7.1 You already have with a good headset. Actually Virtual 7.1 gives you bad sound on top and worse directional hearing. So stay far away from it. I was a 7.1 hunter in headsets for a long while untill i actually started testing it and researched it.
I'm stuck between Cloud Alpha or Corsair HS70. I mainly play PUBG. Can you recommend me which is better? Not to mention their price point are pretty much the same. I would gladly appreciate your reply.

3.5 mm detachable cable check Shorter cable check Braided cable that doesn’t kink check Pretty good sounding mic check Don’t think you can find anything better in this price point based on features for value for money.
Red Mods The cloud 2 still had the Takstar 80mm driver in 2015, and I couldn’t find any evidence that has changed. Sennheiser uses the same driver for most if not all of their gaming branded headsets then change the DSP and enclosure. You really think they are going to redesign a driver and enclosure that’s worked for them for years?
How is it overall? Do you have any issues? I'm thinking of buying it because my headset has an issue that causes echo and lowered volume in the center when moving the cable
@@NotMichaelJuqson Absolutely! The great thing is, I've had it for I think 3+ years and only now have I had to replace the ear cups and mic. The earcups, mic, and cable are all detachable which is a big selling point.
@@NotMichaelJuqson Just normal wear and tear. Not that it's cheaply made, but just overtime that's what happens. It's built like a tank. No need to worry
I've had the Cloud II's for about 3 years now, use them as my work headphones; 8 hours a day, 5 days a week listening to podcasts, music, youtube. They sound great and are super comfy. I personally prefer the velour pads on the Cloud II's. But if the alphas are anything like their previous sets.....if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
As a fan of the original Cloud and Cloud II, I'm happy to see Kingston go back to that design, over their previous more gaming headset look, I would prefer a Black and Grey look but maybe later. The biggest selling point for me is the in-line volume and mic mute, this is something I've wanted in a Cloud headset for a while, though it's a shame they no longer include the velour earpads, I'm not a big fan of leatherette earpads, as they do get uncomfortable.
I have had the orginal cloud headset for 3 years and i have used it nearly every day.. the headset stills works great with no problems! I have upgraded the ear pads and the sound got even better
Thanks for the video. I have this head set and love it. I was on the fence about spending $100 on them, but after reading nothing but good reviews...I purchased them, super comfortable.
Typing with the Alphas as of now. The sound is superb and vastly superior compared to my last 2 headsets (Sony Gold wireless and turtle beach stealth 600)....the bass is kinda high compared to other headsets, but it is not exaggerated by any means, which makes them sound way good for gaming and music. The volume can get really high. The sound isolation is one of the greatest I have experienced, I literally cannot hear myself talking or typing while gaming or listening to music. The detachable mic and plug cord will guarantee these will last years, you just exchange it and that's it. These are PC aimed headsets, so if you buy them for PS4 or XBOX you are wasting money since the controller is not powerful enough to drive these, resulting in shitty and low sound compared to PC. Better get some those specifically made for consoles. So guys...I am gonna clarify this ear pain issue that some people talk about. The headset is indeed REALLY comfortable. The ear pads are really soft, but the thing is...they may not be thick enough if you have big ears. If you have middle sized ears like mine, you will slightly feel a part of your ears leaned against the foam layer of the drivers, which I think are thick enough. It does not feel like you ears are getting crushed against the drivers tho, just like a gentle lean. Even after hours of use, it does not feel uncomfortable by any means... The problem is not COMFORT, but CLAMPING FORCE. To achieve the desired sound isolation, the pressure they put on you is considerable. At first you may not notice them as the discomfort is gradual, but after a couple of hours you will have to take them off, rest for 10 minutes, and continue. You even feel relieved when you take them off, which is bad imho. I hear Cloud II and Revolver S do not have this issue as much as this one. It is not as horrible as it sounds tho, for the sound they are way worth it. Some people whine too much. If you've got big ears...you may be well f%cked. There you have 2 options, contact Hyperx customer support and ask them to send thicker ear pads (and they will), which based on the comments solves the issue, or buy the brainwavs hm5 from amazon, which will make them way more comfortable and solve the issue also, but will slightly downgrade sound quality and isolation. I have not tried this yet myself, but plan to. If I do I will edit this in the future. TL;DR -Get them if you have small or middle sized ears -Buy or ask Hyperx to send thicker ear pads if you've got big ears -Getting new ear pads will also solve clamping force
Hey, so this is for someone who has NOT bought any Hyperx products like me. I was so confused about the Cloud II and Cloud alpha. Everyone is saying 50/50 and you don't know who to believe. I had a problem with my old headset my ears started to burn every time I put them on but Cloud Alpha covers all around your ear what is so soft and comfortable. I was even between the Kraken 7.1 V2 Chrome (Haven't bought any Razer products too) but everyone said they break so quickly and are very uncomfortable to wear after a few hours. I went to the store and was gonna buy Cloud 2 but for the last second I changed my mind and got the Alpha version. I DO NOT regret this decision at all The sound is so clear even the bass is pretty good. I like the design too blackk&red. I spent 90euros on this and damn I like them so much. Finally, my ear is in heaven. Thank you for reading this P.S sorry for my bad English
Thank you. I have been having a hard time trying to find a good gaming headset and this headset is a good find. Keep up the good work and have a good day.
I bought the White/Purple version of this headset after watching your review. Best sounding gaming headset I have owned so far. I previously used a Razer Kraken Pro V2.
I got my pair on Friday. they sound AMAZING! I've been playing a lot of battlefield, Rainbow six, The last of us, and fallout. the sound is crisp and vibrant you can hear everything and know which direction it's coming from. the only complaint I have is that it is a little lacking in bass
I got this headset yesterday. Its really good so far. It feels strong and like it won't break easily. Its really lightweight and you can wear it for a long time without feeling uncomfortable. I had to get a bit used to it first but its good now. I like the sound quality of it, its pretty good. The microphone is pretty nice too. I have yet to use it more and on my ps4. So far, i really recommend it and I think ill be using this headset for a long time. You got enough money for it, go for it. Have a great one and take care of yourselves ♥
I still use the HyperX Cloud Core, both for gaming, music and DJing (Monitor Headphones) Edit: the detachable cable of the Alpha makes me want to buy it hahaha
I have been rocking the Cloud Core's for almost a year and a half, they have been great but the cable is starting to short on me so I will be ordering these today. I will comment again once I try them and compare!
Suisiders So far sound wise, better, the size can go bigger than the Cores, the added mute button and volume wheel was needed and great. The Mic is fantastic for blocking background sound. Also the Mic is alot less flimsy, it seems The connector is alot better quality. The only issue I have is the stitches on the cushions aggravated me at first, but once I wore them for a week that issue has went away. I hear directional sound better and the bass is there comparing to the Cores that imo lacked bass.
Just picked these up after having a40+mixamp, st3alth 450's, cloud 2's, x12's, the sony wireless PlayStation ones, and have to say player positioning on these babies are more distinct than what I have experienced. That and comfortability are up there with Astro's. Great review, great vid, great headset.
Jarron Moore Imo they are better gaming and recognizing where your enemy is if you play those sort of games. Music though the a40 is better. I also love the fact I don't need the mixamp and a ton less wires which is better for me traveling a lot. As far as Mic quality goes I could care less how I sound on the other end when playing with groups or friends, lol. Hope this helps bud!
Definately better than astros and the astros are overpriced. My headband fell apart on the astros after barely using it but my original clouds are still going strong. My cord is just tangled.
So corey, i have a40 with mixamp and does the alpha sound better with the mix amp then a40s? I cant tell wheter people are above or below me anymore on my a40s
Whoever says the stinger's mic is better is actually deaf af. Alpha has more clarity and detail. The mic for the Stinger is so.. blocky and muffled. For a $50 difference, theres a BIG difference. ALPHA FTW! I have the stinger myself and it works great, but i think the alpha is 10x better. Haters gonna hate, but its the truth ;)
So here I am in early 2022 still using the set I bought after watching your review. The mic is still pretty good. The ear cups have started flaking, but I'm about to buy a replacement for them.
A speaker on my original Cloud died just before the 2 year warranty ran out. Once I emailed them proof of purchase off Amazon they gave me a RMA no questions asked. Good company and good products
@@syth1183 After using them for more than 2 years I really recommend them, they have better sound technology than cloud 2's, a cable that you can disconnect from the headset it self if needed, for example my cable broke and i was easily able to replace it. HyperX sent me the cable for free! I am really happy with this headset, I still use it almost everyday. The only thing is that ear pads wore off a bit, but i would say that after 2 and a half years the damage is still minor. Enjoy your new headset, whichever you buy, all hyperX producs are top notch quality.
How does this compare with the HyperX Revolver S. Which has a better sound clarity and bass?. TIA. BTW, HyperX Revolver S is around 120USD here vs 100USD of the alpha. So barely no difference in pricing.
Joshua Cariño I have did a ton of research about these headphones. Alpha has better sound quality than revolver s, they are more comfortable. Revolver s only has 1 advantage and that is soundstage + 7.1. If you want 7.1 then get RS but if you want sound quality then Alpha are better
Tbh since the main goal of HyperX is competitive peripherals, is good to hear that Bass is not that powerfull. Competitive wise u dont want a bassy headphone.
The Stinger's mic sounded louder than the Alpha's mic and easier to listen to. Voice was slightly muffled for the Alpha; maybe the foam around the Alpha's mic is the cause?
I already ordered a pair of these and I'm getting it in the next couple days. Really excited. My first gaming headset. The one I'm currently using is the stock mono earbud that you get with the PS4. Been using it since February 😂
@@absoluteabyss6376 the sound is rly good and ive had mine for a few months now and their still in mint condition. I dont use the microphone tho so idk if its good i have a blue snowball.
Since the mic is detachable can you replace it with an Antlion Modmic so you only have one cable going from the headset to the source? If so can you test it to see if the Modmic sounds better than the stock mic when passing through the headset?
the mics usually have different pole placement on these headsets, try and plug the headset from the cloud 2's into anything and see if you can record stuff. Things are not gonna be that easy and if you're buying these and the Antlion mic then why not go for better headphones from the get go?
chr1spy 1 r u dumb or something "its hard to hear enemies with the alphas" you wot and btw cs go has built in surround sound so he will not get any issues while playimg with them. Btw even pro players use them Scream uses alpha's and ect
apologiz tome I've not played csgo with these but they've been very good with playing other fps games like overwatch and pubg. The sound is crisp and every footstep can be located easily. The 7.1 surround sound is kind of useless. It makes you feel like your in a huge hall. Some people like it but Im not a huge fan of it
The RGB lighting is for the headset to be pretty on camera. That's all it is good for. That, or mood setting, and maybe some custom macros to change the headset colour for team games but that's about as much good as I would see in it.
Honestly, i have had this headset for over a year now and i dont usually spend more than 30 dollars for anything gaming that isnt the system itself. This i have never had a better sound quality ever than this headset. The mic is amazing. Definetly worth the price.
It's a problem with ears touching the drivers, contact them about it they will send you another pair of foam, but I think solution can be googled, that problem stopped me from buying them and opted for cloud 2's instead...
Thumbs down. You are clearly not a gamer and are not at all qualified. You are asking for more bass from a GAMING headset. The mids and highs should sound good because you need to hear foot steps.
How does that not make him a gamer? He obviously is a casual gamer and doesn't care about winning or losing, but cares about the experience of the game. More bass would make the game sound more immersive, and just because he doesn't care about hearing the enemy's footsteps hes not qualified to be a gamer? What kind of logic is that? What qualifies someone as a gamer? What's even more stupid is the fact that you down voted the video for that, completely missing the point of the review in the first place. What a dumbass you are.
Listening on my Cloud 2's and the mic from alpha was far better imo. For me the #1 thing is comfort in this type of headset (gaming primarily). With a much higher budget I settled on Cloud 2 in grey / black as looks are a major factor for me too (after comfort tho). I would never use Alpha as I can find as comfortable and as good performance in other (not red/ black sets). People should go try on as many sets as they can find on display before buying imo. I would say I tried about 20 sets on in about 6 different retail locations and ended up buying Cloud 2 on sale for about $75.00 US.
0:15 that is the most unsatifying shot i have ever seen
facts lol the lighting is dope tho so whatever
it looks like they dropped it and try to make it look good

I still use the HyperX Cloud Core, both for gaming, music and DJing (Monitor Headphones)
Edit: the detachable cable of the Alpha makes me want to buy it hahaha
Kids bop
Cloud core ftw, got mine for 50$ basically a cloud without the usb dongle
I have been rocking the Cloud Core's for almost a year and a half, they have been great but the cable is starting to short on me so I will be ordering these today. I will comment again once I try them and compare!
Dreams and Lies How do you like the Alphas? My Cloud Cores are going out so I'm thinking of picking up the Alphas.
Corey Kirkman i have the astro a40 tr and mix amp. How much better do you think these are?
Jarron Moore Imo they are better gaming and recognizing where your enemy is if you play those sort of games. Music though the a40 is better. I also love the fact I don't need the mixamp and a ton less wires which is better for me traveling a lot. As far as Mic quality goes I could care less how I sound on the other end when playing with groups or friends, lol. Hope this helps bud!
So alphas are better than cloud 2? and do you think they are also better than revolver s?
Yeah man your right! Buying this in January:)
@The Caring Adolf Hitler they're pretty much the same, save your money
Steven Arroyo
You still got them? Still worth it?
So here I am in early 2022 still using the set I bought after watching your review. The mic is still pretty good. The ear cups have started flaking, but I'm about to buy a replacement for them.
Early comment my time to shine
How does moses make coffee?
Hebrews it
That's a meme. I also feel like I saw you in another video comments the other day.
Mohammed Aliyu nice one
you don't need to be Jewish to get it -_-
Yeah that's racist for not jews :(
No it's not, It's just illogical to say all non-jews wouldn't get it.
A speaker on my original Cloud died just before the 2 year warranty ran out. Once I emailed them proof of purchase off Amazon they gave me a RMA no questions asked. Good company and good products
Subbed! Amazing job sir! Great looking and informative video.
Oooo the cloud alpha sounds so soothing
"Anything that hyperX should have changed?"
Added more options for frickin neutral colors. Like seriously, how hard is that.
Very underrated channel, great job as always! :)

Maaaaannnn I was looking for reviews regarding racing games....Thank you so much you helped me made my final choice!!
Makes my choice more complicated
Ak games central Ceres 500.
Cloud 2 or alpha?
dubstephan - alpha ofc
@@BunnyEZ why iam also puzzled
@@syth1183 After using them for more than 2 years I really recommend them, they have better sound technology than cloud 2's, a cable that you can disconnect from the headset it self if needed, for example my cable broke and i was easily able to replace it. HyperX sent me the cable for free! I am really happy with this headset, I still use it almost everyday. The only thing is that ear pads wore off a bit, but i would say that after 2 and a half years the damage is still minor. Enjoy your new headset, whichever you buy, all hyperX producs are top notch quality.
The great part is that I found an alpha for £54.99 on Amazon. Stoked
How does this compare with the HyperX Revolver S. Which has a better sound clarity and bass?. TIA.
BTW, HyperX Revolver S is around 120USD here vs 100USD of the alpha. So barely no difference in pricing.
I want to know this too Cloud Alpha costs nearly the same as RS here so would it be better to just get RS? or Alpha is even better than that?
Alpha is MUCH better. Don't get the Revolver S. Alpha beats it in all categories in my opinion.
Rock GamingTV 7.1 is not an advantage. 7.1 surround is garbage.
Tbh since the main goal of HyperX is competitive peripherals, is good to hear that Bass is not that powerfull. Competitive wise u dont want a bassy headphone.
I have this one, amazing headphones.
Ive had this for over a year now and Ive used it every single day. No issues and easily the best 90 bucks Ive ever spent.
bruh the stinger mic sounds like a radio station mic from the 1940's.
Your camera track is just amazing😍
The Stinger's mic sounded louder than the Alpha's mic and easier to listen to. Voice was slightly muffled for the Alpha; maybe the foam around the Alpha's mic is the cause?
sorry but what you heard from the stinger was breathiness from the voice because no pop filter.
Are you kidding me? The stinger mic sounds so compressed
I already ordered a pair of these and I'm getting it in the next couple days. Really excited. My first gaming headset. The one I'm currently using is the stock mono earbud that you get with the PS4. Been using it since February 😂
should this be my FIRST gaming headset instead of my next?
Lol same I have a 20€ overear headphones
Yes
5:03 It is your captain Mr. Hardware Caunuks speaking with the hyper x cloud stinger
I ordered them it’s coming 8 pm
How is it bruh? does the mic work on mobile?
Your voice is so calm
normie 2 would you like him to scream the entire video?

That intro was soooogood omfg
I’ve got this and trust me it’s lit (especially for csgo)
Are they durable and is the sound decent?
@@absoluteabyss6376 the sound is rly good and ive had mine for a few months now and their still in mint condition. I dont use the microphone tho so idk if its good i have a blue snowball.

hands down the best on the market. nothing beats the price. returned a few headsets before i landed on these. very satisfied
How does it perform in music ?
@@ahmeddesouky181 passable
Steel series Arctis 5, Sennheiser GSP 300, or HyperX Cloud Alphas?
HyperX cloud Alpha, I have Arctis and it's not comfortable, the ear cushions was really bad, the mic is bad. Don't buy Arctis
@@Xy-kp4nb agreed
Definitely go with the Hyper X, I returned my artics 3
I got that head set tester day I was impressed so I decided to search up videos about and it seems that everyone likes it and it great to use
Red? Looks orange to me lol
give that monitor color setting a tweak and youll be all set
With a lot of light it can look orangeish, but yeah thats red
I know whats red and what orange on my screen and this looks more orange depending on what light he used in the video
COLOUR BLIND
You're fucking colorblind then lmao 😂😂😂👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
i actually recently picked these up. they're super comfortable , light weight and sounds great
love them.
the mic wont work on mine and ive tried everything time to refund :/
Rip
Thanks alot for the review. I bought them 2 weeks ago and I love it
Alpha mic sounds better. Great review too!
I'm now sure what I will buy to use long time, thank You for great review of HyperX Cloud Alpha guys! :)
Since the mic is detachable can you replace it with an Antlion Modmic so you only have one cable going from the headset to the source? If so can you test it to see if the Modmic sounds better than the stock mic when passing through the headset?
Vitor H. Sá fuck, 1 hour late damn you
the mics usually have different pole placement on these headsets, try and plug the headset from the cloud 2's into anything and see if you can record stuff. Things are not gonna be that easy and if you're buying these and the Antlion mic then why not go for better headphones from the get go?
That video entry was dope!
*Im buying a new gaming headset should I buy Cloud II Or Cloud Alpha? Answer Fast!*
NeymarSkillZ ت alpha
Alpha
chr1spy 1 r u dumb or something "its hard to hear enemies with the alphas" you wot and btw cs go has built in surround sound so he will not get any issues while playimg with them. Btw even pro players use them Scream uses alpha's and ect
Nalle Puh cloud 2
Nalle Puh Cloud 2 :). I tested both and I prefer cloud 2s
I’m glad you wear glasses as I find so many headsets compress the arms of my glasses making it an uncomfortable experience.
So its just a Cloud II without 7.1 right? Or am i missing something?
hyperx cloud alpha have a better sound qualitiy because of the dual chamber driver..
Hazmie Harith Is the difference realy that noticable?
StronkGameReviews new driver new design more sound quality
Michael Vachon I preffered the old design to be honest.
cloud 2 is 7.1 this is not
the alpha sounds so good im definetly buying this one
This or Revolver or Revolver s?
this
Revolver S if you want surround dolby 7.1 for FPS PC Games. The Alpha is better in sound quality.
Manuel González I did more research and I bought Steelseries Arctis 7. Not disapointed! :)
apologiz tome I've not played csgo with these but they've been very good with playing other fps games like overwatch and pubg. The sound is crisp and every footstep can be located easily. The 7.1 surround sound is kind of useless. It makes you feel like your in a huge hall. Some people like it but Im not a huge fan of it
Surround sound to pin point footsteps is not good, I always prefer stereo to play games (Pin point foot steps) surround for movies.
The RGB lighting is for the headset to be pretty on camera. That's all it is good for. That, or mood setting, and maybe some custom macros to change the headset colour for team games but that's about as much good as I would see in it.
Can you please do a review on the Razer Kraken Pro V2?
I wish they had a white and black color option like the older Cloud models, there needs to be more peripherals with that color scheme.
were is dimitri bro?
Sometimes dimitri is busy and and Ebro takes over, personally I like how they take turns and switch positions for every video.
They match your glasses perfectly! :)
i actually think the stinger has a better microphone
Iwo Ruuzz hahaha what are you deaf
Both mics are bad.
cl4ster17 what mic is good?
Ricky Perales shut up bitch
Honestly, i have had this headset for over a year now and i dont usually spend more than 30 dollars for anything gaming that isnt the system itself. This i have never had a better sound quality ever than this headset. The mic is amazing. Definetly worth the price.
Is it only my head it hurts?
It's a problem with ears touching the drivers, contact them about it they will send you another pair of foam, but I think solution can be googled, that problem stopped me from buying them and opted for cloud 2's instead...
Wow, the MIC on these HyperX Headphones are AMAZING. And yes, NO RGB PLS HYPERX!
Philips shp9500 and vmoda mic. Best gamer/mainstream/budget/all around combo. You can thank me later.
also the leakage will get into the microphone aswell and that'll be distracting for YT vids and chatting while gaming in general
I preordered a pair. They seem really great since launch. A bit high on the bass for my taste, but definitely a great pair of headsets.
Why do the stinger have better mic than Cloud alpha?
probably because it doesn't have the foam filter, which makes the Cloud Alpha seem kinda muffled. adding a little gain might fix that
It doesnt
It doesn’t
It doesn't, you just need a little gain and it will better in comparison
It was louder, but definitely not better. And that's ofc something you can change in settings.
Just pickup the alpha preown from gamestop thanks for the help really helpful review
Do you like the alphas? Are they durable?
I would say I tried about 20 sets on in about 6 different retail locations and ended up buying Cloud 2 on sale for about $75.00 US.
the alpha mic sounds awful!
Combohh lol
tnykuuh can you link me one noticable sounding mic?
Go watch RandomFrankP's video of him doing a sound test and it will change your mind.
tnykuuh Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaaha funny guy
HyperX Cloud II , still the best and high-performance product division of Kingston Technology, for a budget headset, period. thnks for good review !
