The Indian Head Shellac? Acetone or alcohol clean up. In this case I just left it as you saw me wipe with my finger. It's great stuff for these kind of metal to metal surfaces. I've also used it on cork valve cover gaskets, but not sure it's really worth the time. You have to coat both mating surfaces and let it dry like you would contact cement.
