Thank you! That was probably my favorite time period of RUclips as well... watching things like Nostalgia Critic and The Angry Video Game Nerd! Not too shabby at all!
Chris doesn’t exist. The contest was so unforgivingly difficult Nintendo quietly abandoned it. When you won a Nintendo Power tournament it was a BIG DEAL. They wouldn’t put your name in a fail safe room that no one could access. That’s just silly.
I really really wish I could remember where I saw it but… I saw some video I think that was done about some Investigative journalism that confirmed that there was a Kris Holahan mentioned in a gaming magazine about them winning a contest about having their name put in a “upcoming Nintendo title“… If I’m remembering correctly I don’t think the original contest even specified if it was Zelda or not… But I may be mistaken I’m sure if you Look you can find some kind of video investigating this… I remember they included links to screenshots/photographs of magazines etc. etc.
Great video! I did a glitch to keep Zelda following Link and beat multiple dungeons with her by my side! You have earned my sub, very fun style of videos! Keep up the great work!
I haven't made a video in quite a while... but I am definitely going to try! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I love making these kinds of videos. Not too shabby at all and thank you!
So much nostalgia. I got my Super Nintendo Christmas of '93, played Link to the Past obsessively. Probably my second favorite SNES game after Star Fox. Thanks for the video, brought back some good memories!😁👍
That sounds like an awesome Christmas! As for the game, it's probably my favorite Zelda game next to Link's Awakening and Ocarina of Time (it's hard to choose... it's definitely the top 3 of my all time favorite SNES games)! Glad I was able to bring you some good vibes! Definitely not too shabby!
first time your channel has been recommended to me. great find! love this game and the glitches look fun haha. looking forward to seeing more from ya :)
I just subscribed! Thank you for making this video. I have always wanted to see what one can do to break the gaming codes with certain games and I'm glad that this showed up on my algorithm.
@@JustSomeRetroGamer Yes please! The idea of Zelda traveling with Link is a wonderful idea! It's explored a few times, and it was almost fully realized in Spirit Tracks.
@@e-mananimates2274I just wish she would do something, but she literally only follows you around. Will make a point to do that when I revisit this. Kudos!
@@JustSomeRetroGamer Well, fair enough. I'm awaiting the day there's a Link to the past mod which extends Zelda's contributions and even allows you to play as her. The bad news is that I'm not good at coding. Animation is more of my forte.
Man, I've played this game through many MANY times. An all time favorite of mine. I know so many glitches, but this is the first time I've heard of the bomb jump glitch! I need to give thag one a try some time! Great video man 🤘😎
Thanks! There are lots of other glitches I found out about too! Definitely not too shabby! If I get back to making videos again, I'd like to do a follow up to this!
Ok so if you're doing a randomizer of a link to the past/on the Japanese 1.0 version of the game you can preform a glitch called spin speed where you hold down b to charge a spin attack and then preform an item dash with hookshot (press dash and the hookshot button at the same time) then step up to any stair in the overworld and get super speed that can be used to do death mountain descent
You totally should! Link to the Past is an amazing game! Otherwise if you can, try out A Link between Worlds on 3DS, that has a great mix of oldschool and newschool charm!
Never get the sword tempered to level 4 before defeating the boss of the 3rd dungeon of the Dark World. He's immune to your sword. Fire rod still works of course, so take some magic potion with you. I break games to their knees. If they had knees. I... yeah, I suck at metaphors.
I didn't know that! I'll have to keep that in mind on my next playthrough! Always awesome when I learn something new about an old game! Definitely not too shabby!
Wow! I’ve never seen most of these glitches before. I remember watching the exploration glitch way back in the day, I believe because you can skip to the end of the game with it? I’m not entirely sure. The rest of these though, never seen them! I didn’t know how many of these use the exploration glitch either.
Thank you for the comment! You are correct, you can easily get to the end of the game using the Exploration Glitch, it's just a matter of finding the Gannon boss room and heading north from there! A lot of these glitches I didn't know about until I found a website talking about them... some of them I remember from my childhood too! Definitely not too shabby at all! ^_^
If you get to it via glitching though, sometimes the doors glitch and act like walls and just don't work... or maybe I was just unlucky this time around, lol! Thank you for the comment!
Theres a Zelda Forum where someone claimed to be Chris Houlihan and answered the other users questions... Though I have my doubts as to whether or not it's the real guy. I could be wrong though!
Sorry, I'm not sure. I only tried it on the SNES. I think both the switch and the Wii Virtual console use a different ROM version that might not work but I could be wrong!
Thank you! I might not do too many more videos like this though since they take a while but I would like to touch upon a few other exploits for this game!
Do deserts even have that much rain? I definitely descended Death Mountain. I got the Tempered Sword before going into the third dungeon. The Chris Houlihan room is a fail safe room which prevents the game from crashing. I heard that the winner of the contest would have their name programmed into a future NES game. However Chris has never been confirmed to even be a real person. I was never able to get to the Chris Houlihan room until recently. I have tried and failed before. I have used a really easy method that worked for me which involves using a bomb to blast you into a hole in the graveyard. Bunny Link turns into a human when he dies? I'm pretty sure you can get to the Dark World as Bunny Link without glitches so it's weird that Nintendo never made a death animation for Bunny Link. I don't think Bunny Link can swim either even if he has the flippers. Ladies and gentlemen and everyone in between XD. Thanks for assuming trans people watch this.
I forgot you can totally get to the dark world normally as Bunny Link too! If you defeat Agahnim without grabbing the Moon Pearl, you get scolded by Sarahsala as well, so it was pretty odd they didn't seem make a death sprite. I didn't know if Chris Houlihan was a real person or not to be honest, I was going more by speculation and rumor, lol! I never used that method, but I read about it on a site I found a good number of these glitches. I'll have to try that some time! ^_^ And definitely! Everyone is welcome to watch my videos! Thank you for the comment, you are definitely not too shabby! ^_^
@@zachtwilightwindwaker596 well, it more of a "Hey you doofus! Use the mirror and go back to the Tower of Hera and get the moon Pearl" Maybe not quite like that but you get the idea. ;)
