That's is by far the best i have ever heard i am a huge fan of the film i also dabble with the banjo A could only dream of playing like that awesome.. The wee glesga hillbilly
Your really bring out the sweet and hypnotic aspects of this tune! Beautiful banjo and beautiful playing. Think I'll grab myself a cider and my banjo and learn this one. Cheers 🤠🍻🙏
Dan. Dan. Wow! Great lesson. I have your lesson more or less down. How you play it at 5 minutes in is impossible to follow as you are so masterfully fast and mind bogglingly accurate - I'd love to learn some of these other licks. I guess I have to keep plugging away unless you happen to have time to break the super fast bit down from 5.00 to the end into digestible chunks (hint hint pretty please). You're in a class of your own dude.
Hi Sarah! Thanks so much. The tabs tier on Patreon is £10 while the £15 tier also has instructional videos for all of them as well as spotlight videos on particular techniques. The page has been running for eighteen months so just by signing up you’ll have access to around 70-80 tabs already :)
Hi Paul. Clawhammer style is traditionally played without picks, using the back of the nail and the thumb. Three finger style which is the style used for the film soundtrack version pretty much always uses picks :)
There's something just magical about the claw hammer style

Awesome version, especially played clawhammer. Great job!!!
Awesome! Thanks For Sharing! 👍
I'm glad I listened to your version but I won't be sticking around to attempt to learn it - you are way beyond my skills.

Absolutely deadly lesson Dan, thanks a million from Ireland 👍🏼. With a name like Walsh , there’s a bit of Irish in you too 😁
Ah good man yourself thanks Phil! Yes I’m from Irish stock that’s for sure :)
Thank you for your clear explanation- I’ve only just started playing clawhammer so way above me but good to know for the future! 😊

@@DanWalshBanjo If I take the £10 tier does that include past tabs also?
@@slq3263 yes absolutely you’d unlock access to everything I’ve ever posted that falls within the tier :)
Wow

Do you wear a finger pick.i can not get that clear crisp sound unless i pick up.
Sometimes I do if my nail is a bit broken :)
Is it just a personal choice not to wear picks ? .... other players tend to recommend .... just wandering

@DanWalshBanjo Thanks, as you can tell I'm new to the banjo and still not working started playing 😒
