    I have a Denon as well and now just use it as a processor since going with external amplification. It was a welcome upgrade!

      How so? I ran my 3800 in a 5.2 in processor mode and didn’t notice a difference at all. What’s your trick? Thanks and cheers! (Edit: I am using external for all bed layers; Denon for heights)

    I bet it sounds great in there . I love the way you have moved those rears High up like that! Was a game changer for me to alleviate directness from a near back wall seating arrangement . Great room nice and intimate. Please get as big as you can oled in there when you do upgrade . Nothing shabby about the sony though . I was skeptical but loving my OLED .
    These are my favourite types of rooms

    Lower surrounds to ear level and bring atmos speakers closer towards you so it's almost directly ov3rhead. Seating away from walls. 2/3 room distance for optimal bass.
    What's room dimensions and seating distance?
    Looking great overall. Not 100%

      Hello! Thank you for your feedback! I actually purchased it years ago on ebay. It's just called Dolby Atmos. It's on bluray. Not sure if it's still available but you can find lots of demos on RUclips these days

      This demo can be found within the Dolby Atmos app on your phone. From there you can mirror to your TV. AFAIK.

    I got the same towers and couldn’t be happier. I’m powering them with a receiver for now, can’t afford an amp yet. What are your room dimensions?

  • @theredon2
    @theredon2 Год назад

    If you don’t mind I can recommend the Polk OWM3 for atmos they work great and they are kinda flat ( and not expensive) I have them on my ceiling I used to have the elevations but this work better for me.
    I pair this speaker with a monoprice low profile bracket and let you angle the speakers to you listening position.
    Even tho I have a dedicated room I didn’t want to make holes on the ceiling.
    You have a good set up.

      @HT Punisher they are decent but I moved to fuller sounding speakers and couldn't be happier. I love the lab alpha p5 as I can cross them over at 80hz since they can easily play to that frequency so my subs don't become localized like with the polk which need to be crossed over around 120hz or so

    Love Your Enthusiasm. You remind me how I used to be (boring bastard now 😂)
    Even though the position of the speakers is very important what most people don't seem to realise the position of the MLP is just as important. IDK if it was done intentionally, but either way I salute you for having the couch of the back wall.
    As well as the audio move around you, having the couch positioned away from the rear wall actually helps with the low-end, too. Corners are most prevalent. However, low frequencies (bass) also tend to stack up near the rear walls. Even the best room EQ or even going multiple subs can't fix what's Unfixable! Even though I'm listening in a similar size living room (13 × 11.5ft), the main priority was to have the couch positioned away from the rear wall for this very reason. If interested, you might be able to make out within this short 3 minute sound test video...

    Do you have ceiling speakers

    • @htpunisher1672
      @htpunisher1672  Год назад +2

      No, just elevation speakers that shoot sound down and serve as ceiling speakers. They sound great at this configuration.

    Your surrounds are way too high. They should be at ear level when sitting

    • @htpunisher1672
      @htpunisher1672  Год назад

      I understand they are not ideal where they are but they sound great in this configuration.

    • @Gshiznit74
      @Gshiznit74 Год назад +1

      I agree as the human ear gets the separation jumbled between the bed layer and the height channels. It takes a lot of tuning and lowering surround levels, being that close, but bringing the surrounds down to ear level and towing the heights to the mlp would benefit immensely.

    Everything looks OK for a budget home theater system, but the TV 📺 needs to be replaced. I have the A3 and A7 emotiva amplifier. It will be a good choice because your AVR is too old for your gear. Get an 85-inch tv because you won't really appreciate your content, especially the Blu-ray collection. Start buying 4k HDR disks, and you'll see 👀 everything you have been missing.

    • @htpunisher1672
      @htpunisher1672  Год назад +1

      I have a few 4k bluray titles already and adding more little by little to the collection. All the upgrades are in the works. The TV, the reciever, among other things. More videos to come.
