The way the song is in the video isn’t a good first time listen versus just the audio off the album imo, for a new listener I’d recommend this version first then watch the video to see the the vibe come to life and then back to the album version so you can feel it forreal
from what I've seen of their live videos from the late 80s they seem to be the hardest working rnb group with doing the heavy dancing and also hitting the notes you gotta respect that..they deserved more hit songs imo.

Watch some of their live performances on Arsenio Hall. They were to me one of the last groups that could sing and dance live ( not lip sync and dance).
This song most likely came out before she was born troop was well rounded Michael Jackson was one of their favorite artists the reason they pushed for this song is cause chuckii booker wrote the song and produced the beat this song was suppose to go with turned away they begging him for his beat don't know how much the label paid for his and it didn't need a rap to it

What year listening to is the remix you should give the actual LP version of the song a listen The biggest difference you’ll hear though is the drums, the drums on this one they are a little more aggressive. And there’s no rap in the actual LP version but they’re both still really good
